Brilliant (comment and show)

Carlton turmoil continues as CEO leaves the club

Yep, pretty nice morning then late shower expected for Adelaide. Of all the times for rain, it’s during the game!

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals

Oh for sure, but I’m not sure when he’d have spoken to the Lions – it was barely 24 hours between their loss on Saturday and the report emerging last night!

Big Footy’s like a broken clock. The regurgitate enough rumours it was predictable one would pan out!

Lions respond: Brisbane releases official statement on Lachie Neale trade rumours

In fairness, it’s probably a leak from the Freo side of things. Brisbane blindsided and a WA reporter breaking the story kinda makes it add up.

Fair, but if Freo accept anything less than pick 6 for Cerra I’d be disappointed.

Could a Neale deal help Brisbane, and how would it work? Five big questions from AFL trade bombshell

I don’t disagree, I’m more saying that Freo giving up as much as three picks for Neale would be bonafide insanity.

*More* than pick 6 – so you’d be willing to do a straight 6 for Cerra swap?

If we got 6 from the Blues for Cerra (far from a done deal, but seems likely), there’s not a single chance we’d be giving up 6, 8 *and* 25 for Neale. I’d be furious if we did.

If we can get him for 6 and 25, sure. Or 6 and a future first I can maybeeee understand, but giving away both of this year’s first rounders is not acceptable.

It’s hard enough trying to police mandatory masks at my work, vaccine passports are going to be a nightmare.

Just like masks, 98% of people will be fine, it’s that 2% that will unnecessarily direct their anger towards us as the business when we’re only trying to enforce government rules.

Dogs' Smith reveals motive behind vaccine salute

Pfizer or AZ? I had a really sore left arm after my first shot of Pfizer last week, but nothing else.

Dogs' Smith reveals motive behind vaccine salute

Whatever the motive, it was a fantastic way to celebrate the goal and a pretty damn effective PSA!

Vaccination is absolutely key, I’m super glad there’s starting to be a consensus around the league on promoting getting the jab – whether that be players posting about it or the clubs themselves promoting it.

'Made a mockery of the doubters': How every team fared in a mixed weekend of AFL finals

Yeah, it’s beginning to be a super conspicuous silence. I can appreciate not announcing anything if it was just journalistic leaks, but given afl.com.au is running it, Carlton need to say something.

They’re letting other dictate the story and that’s never good.

Carlton sack coach David Teague after 'confronting' review of 2021 failures

Horrendously handled by Carlton.

I feel for Teague, clearly a great guy and he was doing (in my opinion) good things at the Blues.

Wouldn’t be a bad option for Freo to pick up as a forwards coach. The Dockers are crappy in that area, and Teague was evidently doing alright with the Blues, so if I were Freo I’d be asking the question.

Seems I’m really running my own race in tipping. This is either going to go really well or really badly for me.

You can say the same about Cerra

Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria

Not saying he’s a target or will be part of the Cerra trade, but Fisher’s long been linked to Freo.

Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria

Halls Creek is definitely in WA, Jonboy.

Then there were eight: AFL Round 23 power rankings

So, pick 6 and next year’s first rounder for us, Cerra for the Blues? It seems at first a bit overs, but it’s obviously something I’d take with little hesitation.

Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria

Haha, a Cerra for Cripps swap seems quintessentially Carlton and wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility.

Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria

Definitely 6 no matter what. I’d be content with 6 and 27. 6 and a future first would likely be leaning towards overs, all things being sensible.

Purely hypothetical, but given we’re heavily linked to the Cats’ Jordan Clark, might be some potential for some sorta three way deal there? Again, I have zero idea how (or if) that would work, but food for thought.

Cerra officially requests trade to Victoria

Sad, but not surprising. Freo simply have to play hardball to garner some good compensation for Cerra.

Seems to be no movement on the coaching saga today, Macca. Teague might have got a stay of execution for a few more days.

I will say though that if he doesn’t leave it’s gonna be mightily embarrassing for the entire AFL media contingent. They’ve been hedging their bets for a while that he will! I guess that’s why the ‘Dew being sacked’ rumours have begun; a rumour file contingency plan or something 😂

Have we seen the best game of the year? Six talking points for AFL Round 23

B+. Clearly is doing all the right things, and a bit more luck – or just luck full stop – with injury will help next year.

Hearing a lot of whispers about us poaching Chris Mayne to join our coaching staff, and that should help given our forward set up is consistently a horribly lacklustre part of our game (as evidence yesterday!).
