'I'd be lying if I said it wasn't': Foley opens up on World Cup snub, why he jumped on Aus A call-up

One only has to look at the photo of him passing to see why there’s still a skill issue.

'I'd be lying if I said it wasn't': Foley opens up on World Cup snub, why he jumped on Aus A call-up

Hooper on one hand guessing that Crowe and Burgess have had a falling out.

At the same time guessing that Burgess will be back to coach Souths.

I cancelled my membership when they hired Wayne Bennett and this is Bennett legacy. Every club he leaves there is turmoil of the highest order. He’d be lurking in the background like the big spindly pencil he is pulling the Sammy leavers. Mark my words, Bennett is the architect of this. He wanted Cody and didn’t get him so he will destroy Souths instead.

Dolphins have been cooked since Wayne’s attention went outside of the club. Wayne and Sam have much in common with relationships.

NRL News: Burgess tipped for top job on NRL return, Knights star in signing tug of war, Youngest player hangs up boots

Why would you want a character like Sam Burgess in your club? Terrible role model.

If Blake Solly and Russell Crowe are serious, he can be a friend of the club but not an employee.

So you’ve enjoyed the last 10 years of mediocrity with an average captain who looked hardly gutted after each loss as long as RA paid him his $1m whilst we lost Liam Gill and Sean McMahon?

Wallabies winners and losers: Eddie's ruthless RWC squad is full of double standards - but we had been warned

Good job Christy; you have definitely calmed down since the first reaction podcast and this is a pretty balanced summary.

The two attributes Eddie repeatedly referenced after he took over from Rennie were toughness and work off the ball.

I’d say these things would have not only been filters for many of the squad selections but also things that don’t need game time to be measured. Particularly the former.

Having said that, the head scratcher inclusions are still there. Perhaps Eddie thinks ex-Storm player Marieke can show ex-Storm player Suli the way?

Nonetheless go the Wallabies. I can’t wait for September and October to arrive.

Jaco Peyper 3/10

Some head scratching decisions and doesn’t speak to players with respect. The communication with his countryman TMO was comical.

Neither should be near an international in future. Slipper and Jones would have been seething but you cannot call it out when you lose.

Wallabies player ratings: Wright's rocks and diamonds nature leave 15 jersey open for RWC, winger's perfect night

Absolutely and said that months ago before Eddie was named coach.

Thrown together Australia A side beaten by Tonga as Tupou completes comeback, mixed day for RWC hopefuls

I didn’t see anything from Swinton except a lack of defensive effort and smarts.

At home next week is a great time to blood Carter Gordon at 10, McReight at 7 and put Mark N on the wing.

Michael Hooper should have played his last test – he has been a major part of the most disappointing Wallabies era in living memory and must go. Hodge the same. Suli should go back to League.

Fred’s loyalty to Teddy makes sense. But I would have picked Drinkwater. But that’s because I haven’t played for the Roosters and Panthers, therefore have no bias.

I had Cody and Keon in my team as well as Murray in his best spot. Love the inclusion of Martin and Trebojovic in the starting line up.

I am afraid QLD might have too many combinations.

ANALYSIS: The four types of No.9s and how Eddie's tactics will determine Nic White's World Cup partner

Don’t think we want 2 Gordons in the team. Thomas the tank engine only had one Gordon and the wallabies train should do the same.

The only time I would have 2 Gordons would be with tonic.

McDermott has the X factor and with good forwards in front of him will be an incredible asset in France.

Phil Waugh might be the favourite but Shorely there are more seasoned rugby executives not on their training wheels?

He has all the educational tickets but this role needs more experience than Waugh has attained post career as a middle manager. Middle management is very different to the helicopter view experience of a director he has attained on sporting boards.

His LinkedIn profile also has some glaring spelling mistakes so he doesn’t have the attention to detail that a CEO needs! ????

Remembering the elite Australian sportsmen and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country

Union has a different skill level. I know a top level league coach who is stunned by the lack of skill in his sport.
You see it when a player other than the regular hooker goes to dummy half and tries to pass. Especially left to right. It’s embarrassing but something league does not put skilling into.
If you are a union skills coach, you can make big impact to a League team.
RTS might have played Union before League but like a lot of the Polynesian boys who dominate when they’re kids, many cannot compete as an adult because they forgot to get skilled up in the basics and so rely on pace and size. Everyone else catches up and goes past them.

Just enjoyed the 500m walk from the Paddo Tavern past Suncorp Stadium up Caxton Street to my car after attending a dinner.

So many disappointed Broncos fans. When will the Courier Mail learn to stop going off so early in the season? They only flogged the Tigers last week.

I backed the Raiders! Cannot wait to watch the game.

Souths were so disappointing so I was pleased to see the honest assessment from the coach and captain.

Latrell? Not giving the rabbits value at fullback. I’d put him left centre and buy a decent fullback who is prepared to run the ball back hard. Mitchell is passive for a big guy and he’s got a gut. Cannot believe he’s in shape for NRL.

ANALYSIS: Melbourne never beat themselves and Souths never beat them at all - but where was Latrell for an hour?

That’s funny. Had me until I read the names.
