Good list. The only differences I would have is Thorn for Ian Jones and Zinny in for Loane.
I can’t see the use of having two very similar locks in the team and Zinny is, in my biased opinion, the best 8 of all time.

If the Reds backs can remember how they played (mainly Quade) in the Comp in 2011 they would be genuine contenders. They had the attack that teams had to plan against. They were making the busts and going the length of the field.

The Hurricanes seemed to defend well. But you can not keep up that effort without giving away penalties. You need to control possession. The Brumbies showed how to counter the Reds plan by outworking them in the rucks.
Similar to how the Blues did to the Crusaders. I think where the Reds let themselves down was in how they used that possession. a lot of errors from Quade. No real dangerous plays. Their plan may limit their oppositions points, but it limits theirs as well. They kept the Hurricanes in the game. A team that doesn’t bend to that pressure (Brumbies) will worry the Reds. Especially if that team has danger out wide.Shown by how Savea threatened when he had the ball.

I thought it had more to do with the Canes being unable to control their possession due to silly mistakes and poor decision making.
A team that played like they had a plan would have beaten the Reds last night. But then again, the Reds seem to play to their oppositions weaknesses.

Great work from the Blues.
Unlike last year they had some strategy.
I was expecting them to crumble after the Crusader hit back, but they muscled up and stuck to their guns.
I’m loving how hungry the Young guys are. They’re all explosive in their running.
Moala, Halai, both Saiili’s. These guys are all dangerous with with the ball.
Braid has been everywhere. The whole forward pack impressed me really. Even Tom McCartney.
Ranger still needs to stop giving stupid penalties away, but he made some awesome runs. He was switched on and committed in defense as well. (Which lead to those penalties i guess…)
I like the in tight work by the forwards with the ball. Much better than our “Side to Side and turnover the ball” strategy last year.
I hope this isn’t a 2007, where they won their first four, blew everyone away and then forgot how to play.

the try scorer gets the award so it’s clearly individual.
This is definitely the best individual try this year.
He had to do so much.
He ran the perfect line with insane speed to get past Smith.
He then sizes up the situation, commits Savea and chips at the perfect time.
The chip lands away from the defense and bounces straight into his arms.
I enjoyed Gear’s smashing of the Irish player more, but this has to be harder to do.
i don’t like it when a non Kiwi player is the best in his position.
I think Habana is the best 14.

Its could be true that the rest of the wallabies made him look even better, but he has performed really well. Strong runs, good line out work and great defense.
Sure he is the weakest on my list, but at the very least he has been the strongest lock this year. Lobbe was inconsistent and Etzbeth needs more 80 minute performances.
