I was really pleased that Sydney picked up Carle to fill Corica’s spot and agree that Foxe has put off Keller (Ryall never seemed entirely settled either, though in truth I think that a lot of pressure was put on Sydney’s centrebacks by Bridge and Musialik early in the season).
I firmly believe that Kisel was never replaced and Jamieson’s selection in that role hamstrung Sydney from the start. I wrote about why here http://tinyurl.com/5vc2e5r
Very interesting to read Ray Gatt in the Australian http://tinyurl.com/64ym75j
Gatt writes that Lavicka desperately wanted to keep Kisel and also wanted Van Dijk but the board would not stump up the cash. Not big news but interesting to hear that Sydney missed out on Van Dijk for $20,000.
Millster I agree that Sydney should be recruiting to fill Kisel’s spot and bring back the crowds by thinking big. Sydney have adequate cover in every position but the left side of midfield. I’m a big fan of Petratos but to play him through the ACL may just be a step too far this early. Rothen would be fantastic – the perfect attributes (at least according to Football Manager).
