Fair point, but one game different won’t have a significant impact on the player whose form warrants the award and shouldn’t be the underlying factor as to why there shouldn’t be one. In saying that, not always the case with teams playing a different amount of games, sometimes it’s equal!

Well the award would be given after the Grand Final, so you would like to think a player is in one of those two teams in the GF – both of which would play at least three games throughout the Finals.

Those statistics rank first in a majority of those categories respectively – not to mention the difficulty in delivering performances like he has throughout the Finals, so I would consider those stand-outs.
The point of the article was to highlight the need for a Player of the Finals Award to allow for players like Morgan to be officially acknowledged for his form. He has been a standout along with Taumalolo and is in career-best form at a time of the year where the pressure is mounted on the best to stand and deliver – just like Morgan has.
Latrell’s appraisal was warranted following his performance vs Broncos and form at the back-end of the season, while Morgan deserves all recognition that comes his way – his performances are that of a top-end halfback (Not to mention he has been tagged the best player in the game recently.)
There’s no desperation here..this article and appraisal are warranted by Morgan’s form.

Fair point – as I said it’s not on the same level but its comparable. You are right though, much more of a collective team performance than the Eels in 2009.

And James Graham is not the best front rower in the game, that title belongs to Jesse Bromwich. And josh reynolds at five eight? Are you serious..Milford is 20 and Kieren Foran is 24 and you would put him over them..wow.

Agreed. I think when they talk about how ‘tough’ origin is, its more in regards to they physical aspect of the game – the contact, the tackles and charging runs.
I love the niggle, I think it adds to the intensity but I thinks its each to there own. Fair enough if you disagree – but I think alot of people enjoy it.

I think we have a good future. Hastings is still young, likewise with Latrell Mitchell – Also reports that Brett Stewart or Jarryd Hayne may be on there way to the chooks next year. Not sure how valid the Hayne reports are though..but Stewart is looking likely.

Phillnz, I am clearly attempting to speak positive about the Game and asking fans such as yourself to love the game more for the 80 minutes its played. IF you watched Origin II – you would know about the QLD fans complaining about the ref, a clear example as to why I wrote this article.
The NRL is a business, and it is incredibally stubborn of you to say that there are no issues in the greatest game – the is no denying that there are. However, if you took the time to read my article properly – you would know that i’m actually urging fans to love the game more and hate it less…so don’t try and tell me that i’m bringing the game into disrepute – I am clearly attempting to do the opposite.

Chui, you are a perfect example as to why my article was written. Your first instinct was an attempt to contradict my article as a result of me being a Roosters fan. The negativity is something we need to lose in our game in order to appreciate it for what it is – i’m not solely talking about the the CEO’S and who runs football clubs but more so the other aspects that grasp the attention of the media for the wrong reasons. If you read my article correctly, I think you would somewhat understand my perspective.

I don’t think Souths would consdier signing Sandow with Adam Reynolds and Luke Keary there. Reynolds was a major part in Souths premiership run last year, and if Sandow stayed I think there would of been a different result. I don’t think Sandow has the ability to deliver a premiership just yet.
What next for Sandow at Parramatta?
I 100 percent agree, Jamieson. I didn’t think to mention the arrival for Foran next year in the article! I think with him coming to Parramatta in 2016, it could be the perfect opportunity for Sandow to play alongside a quality half such as Foran. Yes, it will take the pressure of him and allow him to play his own style of attacking footy – however, I think a significant factor in his arrival will also be the opportunity for Sandow to understand the level of professionalism required to compete in the NRL on a consistent basis. Maybe with a bit of patience this year, 2016 could be the year that Sandow cracks a finals series?!
What next for Sandow at Parramatta?
I see your point Chris, I tried to emphasize that when I spoke about him applying himself in a professional manner that sees the likes of Jonathan Thurston, Cameron Smith etc perform to to there potential week in, week out of the competition. I just believe Sandow needs the right guidance under a coach that can assist with his off field behavior and attitude and help develop his game in order to achieve a level of consistency.
I’m just trying to shed light on a player who without doubt has great natual ability, however, as you said lacks an attitude that is required to achieve greater success in Rugby League.

Mike, I honestly don’t intend to hate on Sandow or criticize the way he plays. As I stated, I am a fan of the way Sandow plays the game and believe he does have a great natural ability, however, he just needs to find some consistency. Like you, I love watching him play, he’s great for the game of Rugby League in how he can pull something our of nothing, but just needs to find the right balance both on and off the field in order to achieve that on a more consistent basis.
What next for Sandow at Parramatta?
Without a doubt, but still would like to see an award!
