Just watched the match replay again and I’d like to make a few observations;
– Dufty was enormous, he’d be a superior 5/8 to Norman. Corey Norman isn’t a strong defender either. We won a comp with Soward at 5/8 & Beau Scott as his bodyguard. Tariq Sims could play the same role for Dufty
– Jack Bird had his best game of the season 2nd row really suited him. Bronco fans must have been irate watching him play so well. He’s at home with the dragon’s I doubt he’ll leave again.
– Vaughan back to starting helped the pack lay a platform, he’s our best forward & should be an automatic starter
– JdB was massive in his first game back. If want to know what his return meant to the team just watch the team song on the dragon’s website
– Ravalawa was fantastic we’ve really missed his go forward, he’s actually become a critical part of the team
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
Sure, but we won a comp with Soward at 5/8 and Beau Scott as his bodyguard. Tariq Sims could play the same role for Dufty.

Kennedy from the Sharks also

In a team with Corey Norman & Jack de Belin is hard to believe Dufty has done anything that bad, certainly nothing that the media has failed to discover
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
I’ve published a few articles about Dufty, I’ve always felt his best position is 5/8 he basically plays as a running 5/8 anyway. He can can learn a kicking game over time.
Imagine Dufty’s ball playing & Ramsey playing off it. Hook has a few questions to answer in my opinion.
Add Dufty, Ravalawa & JdB to the team & we rack up 50+ points.
Matt Dufty has proven the Dragons' decision making is madness
The popular key word in corporate right now is culture. Perhaps Dufty is a little different so doesn’t fit with team culture. Doesn’t mean he’s done anything wrong rather a round peg in a square hole.
The Dragons can't let Dufty go
I’m hearing a lot of rumours about Norman being extended.
Releasing Dufty & extending Norman would have a lot of fan scratching their heads.
The Dragons can't let Dufty go
Last season I posted an article about moving Dufty into the halves. Didn’t get much support at the time but I think in retrospect it would have been worth a try. He plays as a running 5/8 anyway
The Dragons can't let Dufty go
Hynes now confirmed signing with Cronulla. They already have a decent fullback in Will Kennedy. Perhaps Hynes will play 5/8
The Dragons can't let Dufty go
I look at it like this. The combination of Dufty and Norman has worked in attack but you can’t have 2 players filling the one role.
Dufty can run & pass, Norman can’t.
Norman can kick, Dufty can’t
With a more dominant 5/8 in the team next year which I assume is Sullivan there won’t be the same reliance on Dufty‘a attack.
I still think Dufty can be retained, it’s a huge call letting him walk.
The Dragons can't let Dufty go
Kaufusi let off at the Judiciary, what a surprise. The fix is in, but what else would you expect.
State of Origin: The best game on the worst day
Stop stressing, Tariq will play the full 80 minutes and won’t let anyone down.
2021 NRL season: Round 13 preview
After a bleak 2mths for the Dragon’s Dufty is now back at fullback and de Belin returns to first grade off the bench things are finally looking up for the Dragon’s
2021 NRL season: Round 13 preview
Cobbo looks the goods, big, mobile and fast. I’m looking forward to see how he goes, he’ll be up against either Ramsey or Ravalawa so he’ll be challenged.
I’m actually predicting Suaalii to be a bust, not rating him at all.
The young guns – revisited
In Hook’s match preview that came out on Monday he was definitely more open to bringing Jack back. I suspect Jack will be named on the extended bench this week but will end up playing KOE Cup again to help his match fitness.
As I stated in the article we need to scratch together a few wins while we’re in a soft part of the draw. After the bye we have Manly, Titans, Souths twice, Canberra, Penrith, Roosters & Cowboys.
Congratulations to Tariq for making Origin but it also means we’re down another forward for a must win game….
Jack’s back, but he can't save the Dragons
Yes Vaughan off the bench had me scratching my head as well. Faamausili is going ok but he’s not in the same class as Vaughan. Perhaps there’s something more to that.
Forwards need to roll forward & get quicker play the balls. Our attack has become very lateral as a result.
JdB should give the boys a lift, if he can find some form it’ll be a huge boost.
Jack’s back, but he can't save the Dragons
The elephant in the room here is Mitchell. He’s obviously talented but he’s the 4th or 5th choice fullback for NSW & only in the team because Lomax is injured. He’ll be aware of this & he’s a possible problem if his attitude isn’t right. I’m not a fan of moody players. Origin requires 100% commitment not sure
REVEALED: Brad Fittler names NSW Blues team for State of Origin 1
A lot of haters of Sims for some reason. Dragon’s fans will tell you for once he’s 100% fit & has been great in a depleted team. You’ll be cheering when he pole axes DCE & puts that crybaby on his back. He’ll be on a mission.
REVEALED: Brad Fittler names NSW Blues team for State of Origin 1
Mate Sims has played Origin before, he’s tough & will give 100%. He won’t let anyone down ????
REVEALED: Brad Fittler names NSW Blues team for State of Origin 1
It’s a team picked on form & fitness can’t argue with that.
REVEALED: Brad Fittler names NSW Blues team for State of Origin 1
If Lomax was fit he’d be playing ahead of Mitchell. From memory centre’s last year were Gutherson & Wighton which didn’t work.
REVEALED: Brad Fittler names NSW Blues team for State of Origin 1
Jake Trbojevic starting at prop ahead of Payne Hass is the obvious stand out selection. Sims won’t let anyone down & he’ll terrorise the QLD halves. Loaded with Penrith players which is totally fair enough
REVEALED: Brad Fittler names NSW Blues team for State of Origin 1
I hear Jack de Belin is available to play ????????????
All eyes on judiciary for State of Origin
Sure, I was more concerned about Sims’s hypocrisy, stating publicly he never intentionally attacks players heads then 2 days later he kicks Liddle in the head. Perhaps it was an accident? Hope he fights it, let the judiciary decide.
Was Tariq Sims' knee lift a brain fade or an accident?
Watch the interview on the dragon’s website where Tariq Sims talks about his role in Origin, he clearly states that he’s there to pressure the Qld halves but protect the NSW halves. Tariq is a 80min player & could protect Dufty if given the role.
Bottom line is that we’re a lesser team without Dufty, it’s up to Griffin to find a role for him otherwise where do the points come from?
