Love the idea about Anzac jerseys!

My boys were horrific at times against the Titans. A wins a win I guess especially after a golden point game against the warriors in N.Z but geez we have the 5th worst defence in the league. I sure hope work is being done on that front coz if we could learn to shut teams out we’d be almost unstoppable when our attack is on.

NRL Round 7 Talking Points: With big wins come big losses, and which coach is the game’s biggest sook?

Hahaha as soon as I got to those last paragraphs about Kikau I realised this entire article was purely written in pettiness but trying to disguise it just to double down on a point made last week.

I Don’t know whether to be impressed or laugh at the pettiness of it all.

The NRL stat that isn't one, but should be: Working out which forwards really pull their weight

I’m surprised to see Saab still hasn’t hit the 75 game mark yet. Geez he must be getting close to hitting the prime bracket?
Edit; just checked. He’s sitting on 70, hopefully he’s back this week coz we sure could use him

Too old, too slow: Do these two stats explain why Souths have fallen off a cliff in 2024?

@sandy
Way to assume you know everyone. 👍

Viewers need more of Paul the analyst, less of Fatty the class clown's cringeworthy commentating

Couldn’t agree less with this take. The world needs more humour and the rest of the commentary team for nine aren’t providing much of it.

I know I’m in for a good night when I see Fattys in the team.

Now Matt Thompson AND HIS INCESSANT YELLING AT EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME .. now there’s a pile on I can get on board with.

Viewers need more of Paul the analyst, less of Fatty the class clown's cringeworthy commentating

Wow, did you really draw his stats from the pool of all players and not just his position?

That’s like putting a diesel Ute up against sports car and comparing the two, they completely seperate jobs.

Even then, not all players in the same position are there for the same job. I’m not a stats guy but I’d be pretty confident Nathan Brown wouldn’t have been manlys best forward stats wise but geez he changed the game for us. Everything I’ve heard about Kikau this year is that he is improving and doing his job.

Don't believe the hype: Why did Bulldogs fork out big bucks for the most overrated player in the NRL?

The young kid watched his childhood best mate die in front of him in what they would’ve considered a safe space.

Sick of reading the cheap shots like this that have been thrown at the lad. Good luck to the young fella, I hope he can reach his potential elsewhere.

Haha we are a classy bunch aren’t we ????

Motion sickness: How the NRL's best are crafting confusion and sending defences sideways

Please never leave the Roar Mike. Cracking read as always mate, love the way you not only see the game but then how you articulate it.

Motion sickness: How the NRL's best are crafting confusion and sending defences sideways

Didn’t so much catch my eye but geez latrell sure caught S Johnson’s. Poor Jack Wighton must be wondering what the hell is happening. Came to souths to win a premiership and they’re coming dead last mean while Raiders are sitting pretty in 5th.

And thank you AJ! I can’t tell anyone that the ball went backwards without being accused of bias or having no idea what I’m on about. Hopefully the NRL stop ruling every ball that hits the deck a knock on moving forward.

NRL Round 5 Talking Points: For a few clubs it’s getting late early, Jennings shouldn't be in league let alone celebrated

Sucks from a spectator point of view but on the plus side, sounds like you’ve got plenty of 7 day turnarounds at least.

Red-hot Green Machine respond to Ricky’s rev-up to steamroll over pedestrian Parramatta

Watching the footy show and Fred, joey & slater all agreed it went backwards. Looks like I’m not alone on this hill I’m prepared to die on. The game needs to get better at calling every ball that hits the ground a knock on.

Cherry on top: DCE takes down the Panthers with showing for the ages as Cleary bats back knock on chat

Bias aside, it has been a pet hate of mine for a very long time, the amount of plays that are called a knock on due to the fact a player is facing the opposition goal line and touches the ball.
I would’ve understood if that try was called a knock on but I also am absolutely ok with that type of play to be called play on as an nrl fan. I hope we see more of it moving forward.
Will be enjoying this win all week.

Can’t see anything possibly going wrong by putting labels such as “future nsw playmaker” on a young halfback at the tigers.

Good luck to the kid with all the incoming expectation being placed on him.

Western Red Bush Chooks?

Already in the name: Why sending the Tigers west makes the best sense for NRL expansion

Until such time I read an article written by a fan providing their reasons as to why the club they support should be relocated I’ll continue to not take these seriously.

Everyone’s great at providing reasons as to why the club they don’t support should be relocated.

Already in the name: Why sending the Tigers west makes the best sense for NRL expansion

I’m trying to understand your justification as to why we put a line through NRL as an option?

Rugby league needs a new name but what can you call it to stand out in football’s confusingly crowded landscape of codes?

100% agree with you on Cam murray. Far greater footy minds than myself rate Yeo alot higher than I do so he’s obviously a gun, but I’ll take Cam over Yeo every day of the week at origin level. I’d also have him as my skipper. He should be a ….. lock for the position, pun absolutely bloody well intended

The representative fullback battle between Tedesco and Edwards: Now isn't the time to panic with knee-jerk actions

I have high hopes for manly this year but i did last year too. They have the potential to be a top 4 team but also wouldn’t be surprised to see them finish 11th or so.

Makes for a really interesting season coz you could say the same about Parra, North qld, souths, roosters & Parra.

Top 8 battle is shaping up to be a beauty this season given you can just about lock in storm & penrith so if broncos, warriors & knights maintain their form from last year could be a great fight to watch unfold.

'We’re hoping to put on a 2021-like display': Manly stars looking to go back to the future under Seibold

I’d say we need to be a 100 point better team in defence and 50 point better in attack. Concerns me that the focus appears on attack more so than defence but fingers crossed they show big improvements in D this year.

As to the strengths, I’m assuming he refers to the blistering speed of Koula, Saab etc. We are building a pretty handy backline and Olukuatu and Schuster are pretty handy ball playing second rowers.

'We don’t want to do what everyone else does': How 'live attack' became Manly's mantra for 2024

Is it just me or did the Mole straight up plagiarise this article for his latest effort??

Ricky v the rookies: Sticky has to turn to youth to replace Wighton, but who should it be?

I thought I read somewhere that we let Lawton go to the UK? Maybe I imagined it or the deal fell through.

Tui has a lot of improving to do in his defence and the way he reads it. Hopefully he can sort that out, in which case we will be looking fairly solid in the backing.

NRL Round 1 predicted teams: Manly Sea Eagles - Schuster's fitness battles continue as Seibold faces crucial season

Sadly I don’t have to imagine it ????

I genuinely thought foxsports were taking the Mickey when I read rumours of outing Des for Siebs but here we are.

Titans have always been a bit of a bogey team for manly imo, that’s going to ramp up ten fold as of next season. No doubt Bellamy will take them a bit more seriously too. Would be great to see a competitive gold coast team in the comp, here’s hoping he can get the best out of them.

Pressure Points: If anyone can overcome the Gold Coast curse, Des Hasler is that man

“The Nrl is richer for having him in it”

Truer words have never been spoken. Love the man and will always miss him in maroon and white colours and hope to see him do well. Looking forward to seeing his press conferences again, always a great laugh.

Pressure Points: If anyone can overcome the Gold Coast curse, Des Hasler is that man

Yep, I know it’s easy to say as an outsider looking in but as someone who has never missed an origin game since I fell in love with it in 92 watching with my old man, I would happily pay money to have the skillset to represent NSW.

Seeing the likes of Keary, TPJ rep NSW who have openly expressed a desire to play for qld makes me find less enjoyment in origin.

As mentioned by Don I see no value in adding Kiwi players etc, apart from the league hedging their bets in wanting to boost international footy while also keeping the cash cow that is origin.

Just let Origin slowly die and work on building international footy, in time it will become the cash cow.

If Kiwis and Poms are allowed to play, Origin might be about to stumble into eligibility rules that work
