i know bash, we’ve shared information over the years. Hes very forthright (alot more than me, and im pretty damn forthright lol) when it comes to australian youth

His viewpoints on the system and set up in australia are eerily similar to mine

i think even he would admit he’s not overly well liked by a league clubs because of his aggressive views and the feelings are more than mutual lol

He’s got a solid success rate, but the last thing we need are more kids in this country being hyped up at such a young age.

100% attack sydney/wanderers for letting volpato go, hhhhhhhhhhowever bash knows that a league clubs look for certain charteristics and if a player doesnt meet them, they will be discarded.

and just because volpatos training with the roma first team, doesn’t mean he’ll break through – a lot of 16/17/18 year old kids in these big clubs junior system train with the first team

potential is there though, up to him to take it now

Cristian Volpato is set to tear it up for AS Roma – and possibly turn his back on Australia

id assume he still does (looking like a flamboyant bikie lol), his annoying wife is part of that left wing show on 10, the project

'You can't bluff football fans': Rushden makes Stan debut alongside Bozza and Foz as UCL kicks off

why would you want to watch man utd, real madrid or barcelona? there is nothing relatable for australians with teams like that

when you can watch edge hill vs gold coast tonight in the FFA Cup on 10 play? featuring players who work regular jobs and play football for the love of the game 🙂

'You can't bluff football fans': Rushden makes Stan debut alongside Bozza and Foz as UCL kicks off

it’s your money, at the end of the day you can do what you want with it. Several subscriptions is just silly though lol

kayo + optus + stan will cost you $40-$60 a month to watch epl, bundesliga, serie a, la liga, ligue 1, champions league, europa league, euro qualifiers, south american qualifiers

as opposed to illegal streams that are free

i’d rather my money goes towards the good of the game here in australia – EG grass roots, NPL & a league

stan is not for the good of the game IMO, especially at the price point they are charging, 🙂

he’s no certainty to ‘make it’, plenty of kids travel all over the world and never make it. All volpato has to do is look at de silva as a warning sign

the big difference is volpato has totti as his agent, who is a saint in rome – He’s in very good hands with totti vouching for him and also wearing the mythical #10 jersey at Roma

Cristian Volpato is set to tear it up for AS Roma – and possibly turn his back on Australia

fairly close to my pre gam prediction lol

roar didn’t even need to get out of a second gear, it was good that the power had a crack at them in the second half at least when brissy took thier foot of the pedal.

The best NPL team in the nation, was made to look like a sunday amatuer league team. I still dont think people realise that the NPL and a league are miles apart especially fitness wise.

brissy have been in pre season training for a few weeks, but looked so much fitter compared to a team that has played 20 games and still is in season

'Let the game flow': How VAR changes have brought back the tackle

how accurate was that prediction? haha 🙂

How should Australian football use the new media deal to grow the game?

city outskirts, still technically west though lol. But yeah thats an error by me

Cristian Volpato is set to tear it up for AS Roma – and possibly turn his back on Australia

campbelltown and camperdown are both in the west arent they (campbelltowns obviously further west)?
abbotsford is also west, closer to the city though right? so yeah thats an error on my behalf, because that would be sydneys gravy train then

Is he really ‘ours’ though? he was born in italy, yes he spent his formative junior years in australia.

I’ve always been a big believer that you should always play for the country of your birth. Fifa have made it far too easy to change nationallities these days, it should be several years (which volpato qualifies for any way, so no issues there)

looks like my piece was chopped and changed, certain paragraphs are missing and have been edited.

i think the bigger talking point in all this, let me get shouty now haha is “2 A LEAGUE CLUBS PASSED OVER HIM”……

not 2 a leagues with minimal resources like central coast, adelaide or newcastle. 2 of the biggest clubs in the league with the best resources passed on the kid.

this is just another example of the wider spread systematic problems within the youth systems between 12-18 year olds in australia and how clubs recruit

cahills probably struggling to pay for the monthly upkeep of his 80,000 ft mansion on victoria road in Formby

needs that dirty fifa money lol

Has brand Tim Cahill now become brand FIFA?

i’ve mentioned a couple times to you, that a change of scenery will do wonders for DWH, i dont think brisbane played to his strengths in the past couple seasons.
He was always highly rated by me and adelaide did have a passing interest in him several years ago, but then the explosion of african australian players happened and the club never followed through.
he’ll do a job for western united just you wait and see (quote me on that) lol
brissy were never gonna compete with the financial package western offered him – shake his hand, pat him on the back, wish him well and thanks for his service, move onto the next talented kid, – rinse repeast
welcome to the school of thought of the mariners and adelaide lol
lots of wingers at brisbane, but you’re still crying out for a 10+ goal season centre forward (same issue for half the league unfortunately)
lets see if my off season prediction of lescano comes true in terms of how little goals he’ll score and how brisbane will play with him in attack ????

How has your club tackled this A-League off-season? Part 1

as much as i loathe sydney, they have a winning mentality throughout a group they’ve kept together for consecutive years.

Experience counts in the a league, but it would be lllllllllllllllovely to see them miss it (dont see that happening though)

How has your club tackled this A-League off-season? Part 1

city/sydney/victory/mac are all locks for top 4 (Put them in any position you want in the 4) the other 8 teams will fight for the remaining 2 places

How has your club tackled this A-League off-season? Part 1

i just realised you’re being serious with that last sentence 😂

How has your club tackled this A-League off-season? Part 1

the only thing people understand these days (in particular FIFA) is money and greed.

Has brand Tim Cahill now become brand FIFA?

the end of this current season could and should see CBS australia become the home of football – serie a, bundesliga and la liga are only contracted to bein sports for this season.

CBS australia need to make a play for all 3 (they already have serie a rights in america) those 3 combined will be cheaper then the premier league rights, which coincidentally is all up

How should Australian football use the new media deal to grow the game?

fully expect a comfortable brisbane win by 2-3 goals especially since power look to have imploded at the tail end of the NPL season

0 wins in 3 games is not good form, now the roar youth are right on their tail (although the power have games in hand)

How should Australian football use the new media deal to grow the game?

all this would do is reward mediocracy – teams like liechtenstein, gibraltor, guam etc arent very good at football and shouldnt be fed with a silver spoon to easily qualify

You need to earn your way to a world cup, its a long and arduous task that can involve many phases for different continents over a year or 2

Has brand Tim Cahill now become brand FIFA?

hold up, i never personally called you racist. I’ve never called anyone personally on here a racist.

i implied that an a league club is reluctant to recruit certain players (which is factual) but never said supporters of that team were racist in the slightest

east coast bias unfortunately you cant cant change lol

How should Australian football use the new media deal to grow the game?

should be a great match
the power have been unwinding in recent weeks in the QNPL, they are the best NPL side in the nation but are on a horror run.
brisbane absolutely slaughtered a team in pre season by 12 goals the other day

How should Australian football use the new media deal to grow the game?

P+ are apparently working on their app for Australia when its comes to TV’s but there’s no ETA on when its likely to hit.

Apple TV is probably the best way to access it, especially if you’re part of the older generation and aren’t majorly tech savy (i’m not implying you’re old by the way, or anyone on here is)

i think its the most user friendly , there’s also chromecast and roku as other options

How should Australian football use the new media deal to grow the game?

Im not a one eyed anything, i may protect the club who i am intertwined with professionally. But i have also been super critical of them, to my own detriment.

I walk a very fine line between what i should and shouldnt say, especially when it can cause a chain reaction for certain individals within the football pyramid

That is the main reason why ive toned down my approach to specific clubs/players slightly, however when its a generic subject thats a different story and all bets are off (much like the subject of this article)

Does that effect me providing information about certain goings on at clubs or players? to a degree yes, but i will still provide as much information as i am able to without breaking trust.

the moniker will be staying indefinitely, even though certain people know who i am or have worked it out. It provides just enough anonymity

Women’s football in Australia: Start making noise now

i know there’s different types of rugby, but as to which state follows which one? thats something i dont know – not my sport sorry lol

Women’s football in Australia: Start making noise now

in the revolution of my mind, yes. That’s exactly how it will work lol

if we had more people in positions of power within the media, i believe the narrative could change.

i know print media has been dead now for a while as everything is online, but i’ll give you an example.

One of my colleagues showed me this morning’s main paper here in adelaide.

The sports section had several pages of AFL and one not even half page spread about ronaldos exploits on the weekend. – that’s the problem, the exposure level; how as a sport are you meant to compete with that coverage?

substitute adelaide for brisbane or nsw and afl for rugby and im sure its the same picture

the numbers of people that play the sport in this country is absurdly high, especially in the juniors category – the sport is extremely popular in australia.

its not an issue of popularity in the slightest
