Yep Law debuted in 1995. Not a bad only test! He was very unfortunate to play in the era he did. A first class average over 50 suggests he would have been very handy at test cricket. That being said the selectors did give Law a decent crack at international cricket – over fifty ODI matches for an average of just 27 was disappointing for a player of his talent.

Agreed. He probably paid the price for not being ‘flashy’ enough. His mediums appeared non-threatening but the calibre of wickets he picked up in his four matches suggest he had something going for him. He kept it very tight in all but his final match too – no doubt contributing to wickets at the other end. A first class average of 40 suggests he would have made runs too – pity he played all his tests against such a strong opponent.
