that’s not fine in a city with over 5 million people!

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

sydney fc fans apparently 😂

Despite its clear quality, the A-League is being swamped by revitalised winter codes

“We’ve been thrown a load of challenges this season and that’s another one,” Garcia said of the Coffs Harbour journey.

“I’m sure there would’ve been other teams that could’ve played against Newcastle in Coffs but, look, we’ll have to deal with it.

“The schedule and the toll it’s having on the players’ bodies is quite noticeable, with all the travel as well, it becomes an issue”

That’s 2 non east coast coaches saying the same thing about NSW scheduling being unfair, the east coast bias is 100% real; the fact people keep not wanting to talk about it is the issue

There lies your problem, its the state with the least amount of homegrown professional
footballers. Those numbers make dismal reading (much like VIC/NSW) there are major issues
on the east coast with football in general.

Start developing and playing more homegrown players; remove the boring brexit coaching/players/longball
route the club has been on for the past couple of seasons and watch brisbane roar return to the
summit.

the difference is as a city we get behind on our own, we have a sense of pride. We bask in the success of the local kid from adelaide that came from nothing to make something of themselves.
sydney/melbourne fans dont have that passion, its no different to 2 children playing with toy cars; one will pick the shiny toy car (thats a sydney/melbourne fan) the other just appreciates having a car of their own to play with (adelaide fan)
i keep bringing up the FA report (that everyone keeps not wanting to talk about, because its grim reading for VIC/QLD/NSW) but you need to read that report to fully understand
why the sport is failing miserably in this counrty and its got nothing to do with south australia……….

$15.00 a ticket in sydney????? and people are complaining about ticket prices why?

$25 for a ticket in melbourne to watch sport? and people are complaining…….why?

ahh Marcel there’s always that one person that try’s to be smarty pants and fails miserably.

my mother passed away several years ago and like many people on here, i have an expensive mortgage and a family as well; what’s your point?

keep on trying Marcel, you’ll get there one day 😊

hows that worked out for city in terms of aussies going over there or any of there players coming here? i can think of only one player manchester city sent to play in australia. Which young melbourne city players have gone to england or any of the city group ? arzani?

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

you will be, if the sale goes through. Since you want to just drop the team you support like
that over potentially leaving gosford.

any team in this league can have there license bought and moved to any state/city in this country,
it doesnt mean give up on your team

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

disagree with ‘$50 is too much’

The east coast has a much higher wage then perth, adelaide etc etc. You have the larger wages to
support your $9.80 soy lates or $15.00 cucumber and avocado sandwiches with no crusts on the
east coast. The cost of tickets is appropriate with each states workers salaries.

Id love for your sydneys and melbournes to have $20 matchday tickets, so i can see those clubs
struggle financially paying there monthly bill for stadium hire (because they dont own there own
stadiums) and wont be able to buy big name players.

maybe then we might get some parity within the league?

Ajax would be another good fit, given there principles as a club as well

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

plastic fans are the worst!

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

yeah pass, we dont want ownership from a club that only cares about profits and which brand of noodles or tractors to sponsor. Its not like you’d see any of there famed youth team players or quality visa players come through the door.
look at melbourne city, where are these young players from manchester city or marquee players?
id much rather a club like athletic bilbao buy us, there principles are very similar to our clubs

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

they’ve said that for years about there crowds since the take over happened, they have barely improved

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

ticket prices are already stupidly cheap, i’ll even go as far with this outlandish statement;
that given the entertainment factor of this season, the a league would be one of the best bang
for buck values out of any football league ticket in the world.

Better time slots means the FA have to actually listen to clubs in this league (not just the east coast). For years our requests for certain scheduling time/dates have been declined (and they’re not the glamour Saturday evening fixture either) we get lumped with Sunday afternoons which never works in Adelaide.
There are probably only 1 or 2 (sydney/victory) teams that can afford actual ‘marquee’ players. City with all that dirty oil money still can’t get an actual marquee player at their club and that’s a concern
Stadiums are obviously an issue, but that wont get solved any time soon. Has this guaranteed western united stadium actually started being build yet?

Despite its clear quality, the A-League is being swamped by revitalised winter codes

just because a big overseas club buys an a league club doesnt mean success. Look at city buying heart,
all that money hasnt guaranteed them any form of success, there crowds havent improved and they
continually steal adelaide and the rest of australias best youngsters by paying over the top to
player and agents.

moving the club out of gosford to sydneys northern beaches (thats rugby country isnt it?) is a
bad move, they wont get any additional fans because of the ‘man utd brand’. They’ll probably
also have to change there colours and name as well.

Mariners hit back at Manchester United takeover rumours

off topic, did anyone see Richard Garcias comments about the trip to coffs harbour. He’s bringing more light to the east coast bias 😊

Despite its clear quality, the A-League is being swamped by revitalised winter codes

too many posters here keep sweeping crowd numbers under the rug. All i hear is the covid
excuse, its garbage. Get out there and support your team!!!!!!

These stats are grim viewing for every single club in the league. im upset Adelaide isnt
hitting 10k+ a home match, we are however leading the league in average crowds. Look at the lowest
crowd figures per match on the far right; we still have had the biggest lowest crowd attendance
this season. East coast fans should be embarassed, it is absolutetly shameful numbers
for the east coast. But hey, lets all blame covid.

“i dont want to catch covid”, “its too hot”, “its too cold”, “we havent got any good players”,
*victory fans* “i dont like our management” *macarthur and brisbane fans* “we play boring non
attacking football” *sydney fans* ” we dont have any good young players” etc etc seriously all i
hear is people giving excuses for not attending matches

each club is lucky to have die hards like AdelaideAndy, this league will die when SydneySam,
CentralCoastChad, MelbourneMike, BrisbaneBrad & WesternSydneyWally etc stop supporting there teams.
Die hard fans keep this league going!

sydney fc fans wouldnt watch bridgerton, theres black people in that show 😂

at the start of the season we were the only team constantly travelling

McDonald mystery as Roar bounce back

again, i said the mariners have potentially the worst squad on paper. I never said they had the worst, they have one of the worst on paper

McDonald mystery as Roar bounce back

Good stuff Jupiter, all I wanted was an insiders perspective. You’re one of the real fans that went, if only more of the people in your state had your heart 😊

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

we’re never expected to finish top, when are you east coasters going to actually listen to what i preach? the sheer arrogance and pretentiousness of posters on here and all those teams fans in general still shocks me. we dont have any money to challenge any of those teams. Every year finishing top should be city/sydney/victory/brisbane. Theres a reason why the other teams all celebrate when you fail miserably.

Whats your excuse for that pathetic crowd? which lets face it, it was. NSW has the most
participants across all age female groups. Couldnt even hit 5000 fans, that is shockingly bad crowd

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again

its a worry when the women’s grand final attendance was less than an adelaide uniteds w league game who have never even been to the finals. Where was the final played again? that’s right on the east coast who are struggling massively with crowds for our sport

This season has made me fall in love with the A-League all over again
