The future of QLD’s backs is looking very bright indeed

This Maroons team has the potential to start another dynasty

Hey guys, really like the discussion and how people are making their own teams! adds even more thoughts to my head! It will certainly be interesting to see how game 1 pans out!

Can this NSW team win back the Origin shield?

Realistically the Luai decsion comes as a two parter. I think Cleary will play his best with his halves partner and Cleary playing well is the difference between this NSW team winning or them looking a shambles. The second is Luai himself brings alot of energy into a halves dressing room that doesn’t seem to have it. Last year there was major criticism given to Walker and Keary and i feel like it might be time for a shake up. {also not saying the criticism wasn’t warranted or that Luai won’t get any}

Again I agree that NSW need to stop the chop and change. It will be this series where they decide on their longterm partner for Cleary.

Paulo is one of those players where he can bring so much from the first whistle or off the bench. Origin is won on strong forwards and the battle of the pack and that’s why i want Paulo to start, to win that battle early and let the creative juices of Luai and Cleary flow.

Finucane is unfortunately looking a-lot like surplus. still would be solid to have in the overall squad/in camp however a run of things would have to go his way to get selected.

I have always felt Klemmer should be picked but as you said whilst Freddy is the coach I can’t see it happening.

I am a big fan of the way the Frizell plays origin, he seems to really knuckle down whilst in that Blues jersey.

Wightons bigger body and experience makes the 14 choice very hard however if Luai doesn’t impact the game in the way expect Wighton can fill that role more than sufficiently.

I picked Yeo just on my decision to have Luai and Cleary so that Panthers combo. Murray could easily be selected.

The TPJ pick was my favourite as he also has a personal vendetta against another player. It’s happened every-time he has played Fifita and i think he is a risk well worth taking.

Cody was a very close second for 18th man however it comes down to versatility for me and Gutho can play nearly everywhere!

Can this NSW team win back the Origin shield?

Without a doubt the Melbourne game venue will be a big talking point. If it is played in Townsville NSW will have a big mountain to climb.

Great data research Will, can’t wait to see if your stats hold true in the final!!

Manchester City will win the 2021 UEFA Champions League

Hey Guys loving the discussion. Seeing some questions on the exclusion of Collins (who is out with an ACL tear) and Papali’i (who is suspended and will miss game 1) again not my full strength team but the one i would select for game 1. Will certainly be interesting if Kaufusi is served a ban for his tripping charge!!

Also loving everyones own teams they make!!!

Papalii is out though suspension and Collins is out with an ACL tear

Fotuaika is the third middle forward and big Tino can and will shift to prop when Grant comes on at lock. Josh Kerr again is rather unlucky to miss out on the team however considering the current rate players are getting sent off, having a host of versatile players serves to protect any sin binnings. Capewell as well can shift inside and cover second row positions, with Brimson going to centre. ALOT of versatility in this squad.

If KP says he is fit then KP starts at the 1. People are forgetting how good in Origin he really is.

It rarely happens however this QLD team has a-lot of potential future greats and some already established ones. Built off a strong enthusiastic forward line, Don’t be surprised if this team goes on a few more underdog year series wins.

This Maroons team has the potential to start another dynasty

I tell you what if you felt game 3 last year lacked intensity we might need to check your pulse.

The thing with those QLDers is you can’t count them out and if they do manage to win two on the trot ALOT of people will be asking questions of what this NSW actually is. Champion teams beat teams of Champions.

I can see Walsh being picked to just hang around the squad however he needs some more time in the NRL before he should have the pressure of playing Origin

I don’t hate the “Hammer” inclusion I just feel he needs a few more games under his belt and Capewell played incredibly well there last series. I expect QLD to use Brimson in the same mold that Hunt and Slater were so superb in off the bench. a high quality impact back that can really change the game. Right now especially with Grants injury he isn’t an 80 minute player, though he can have a profound impact off the bench at hooker/lock. A beyond solid defender with some great runs in him, Grant will impact his game without a doubt. Good team

That’s state of origin. Both these teams have the opportunity to start something big however if QLD can win this series it will be hard to suggest any other NSW team can beat them for the immediate future

This Maroons team has the potential to start another dynasty

With Harry Grant you add a player that can play in the second row or lock. A tad bit more versatility. Potential for Brimson to sub out Capewell at some point to add another forward to the bench as well.

Nice article Tony, I can definitely see little David Mead back in a Broncos jersey next season, especially after the loss of Coates to the Storm.

And that’s how you’d manage your 5 fullbacks! It isn’t about choosing all 5 but which of the five he picks. However some may find a way to sneak all five into their starting lineup!

Freddy's fullback conundrum: How do you fit five all-star fullbacks in one team?

Loving all the discussion guys, have you got your answer as to how you fit 5 All-Star Fullbacks into one team?

Freddy's fullback conundrum: How do you fit five all-star fullbacks in one team?

Cheers everyone for the great discussion! loved hearing all of your thoughts on the NSW 5/8th choices!

How does reigning Dally M winner Jack Wighton fit into NSW’s plans?

Thanks Tony!
But then what do you do with the workhouse Gutherson? does Turbo then play on the wing instead? (if fit) A lot of talent and A LOT of choices for Freddie to make!

How does reigning Dally M winner Jack Wighton fit into NSW’s plans?

Cheers, I feel like it’s a great topic of discussion! Walkers fiery play style can certainly blow up in his own face, However I think that if he is picked a big part of Freddie’s job is to get Walker to control that temper and use it for the good of his team and when Walker is on he is ON!
