There are 2 Sports I love more than the rest Cricket and Rugby. I also like Rugby League, football(soccer) and occasionally other sports.

The warriors brand is gaining traction, they just bought a pub in kingsland(Auckland) to turn it into a warriors themed pub. A place for fans to go before the game. I’m not sure but I don’t think the all blacks have a themed pub.

NRL Power Rankings: Round 5 - Warriors prove they’re genuine contenders, Rabbitohs a rabble, Eels slip-sliding

It’s one of the better stadiums in NZ for rugby perfect shape and surface. Home ground for Ian Foster, John Mitchell and Warren Gatland when they all played for waikato. Now all international coaches.

As a chiefs supporter I bought a ticket and watched the rebels beat pasifika at fmg stadium, my home ground. I wonder if I was the only hamiltonian there supporting two teams that I don’t normally go to watch. My aim is to see rugby sides that I haven’t seen live before.

Wagner retired, Boult doesn’t play tests anymore, ferguson is a white ball cricketer mainly. But was weird that Patel or Sodhi wasn’t playing. But then Phillips wouldn’t be bowling. I thought what lost the series was NZ’s batting in both tests in the first innings. It was poor. To beat australia you need to bat well. The NZ bowlers made it a contest at least.

Carey the clutch king: Gloveman's stunning 98, Cummins heroics keep Kiwi curse alive in thrilling comeback win

What’s interesting about this test series is the NZ batting generally has been poor, had it been great australia could have lost the series 2 nil.

Rejigged Aussie batting line-up fails again as top-order collapse puts Black Caps on track for drought-breaking Test win

If NZ considered alternative dates then the Australian series would not have been played, can’t move if there is nowhere to move it too. It was a good outcome for NZ easy and vital wtc points from the South African series, a team NZ has never won a test series against in history.

Australia vs New Zealand Test series deserves greater fanfare than a March through autumn clash with footy codes

I would like to see the bbl and super smash merge as long as NZ retains all 6 teams that are in the super smash. It would also have to add new teams like Canberra, Gold Coast and a second Perth team. So the NZ teams aren’t at the bottom of the table.

As I have mentioned before eden park is not suitable for test cricket, it is aucklands only international ground for cricket. Though seddon park in Hamilton is suitable. Unless it’s australia or india playing test cricket doesn’t make money in NZ.

Super Round is a celebration of rugby - that's why it should have never been held in Melbourne

The drua seem a stronger team at home, no doubt they might get a few surprise wins in the future.

Something about poor condition of the turf at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland. It’s a home game for Pacifica but switched to hamilton.

Super round at Suva might be interesting, Crusaders lost last year there to the drua.

I’m considering going to watch the rebels vs Moana Pacifica at fmg stadium, hamilton and I’m a chiefs supporter. I have seen the New Zealand sides multitude of times.

Imagine playing at pukekura park, New Plymouth. Top edges go for sixes. Blocking the ball sometimes it goes for four. It would have to be New Zealand’s smallest international ground I think.

'Special to watch': David's demolition propels Australia to last-ball cliffhanger win after bowlers earn unwanted record

NZ should have won that t20, the bowling apart from Ferguson was awful. So many wides were bowled. NZ aren’t on a slide recently beat Pakistan 4 to 1 in a five match t20 series at home and are currently ranked higher in t20s than Australia.

Rebels folding could be a blessing in disguise, Australia’s talent pool was too spread out to support 5 teams in super rugby anyway. Hopefully some of the rebels players end up playing for the other australian sides. Ironically NZ/Aus is going to need to reinstate either the sunwolves or jaguars to replace the rebels after 2024.

CONFIRMED: Rebels CEO made redundant and coaches have contract cuts as hopes of Super Rugby survival fade

Another getting close to selection is Dean Foxcroft who plays for Otago. Spent the covid period stuck in South Africa due to NZ’s border restrictions. Pretty handy batter and bowls part time off spin.

Possibly bring USA and Japan into super rugby assuming USA improves and their sides are based on the west coast. Add a Samoa side, keep drua. Possibly have only 3 Australian sides so the players aren’t spread over 5. This is possibly the future of super rugby.

Rebels told they will play Super Rugby in 2024 but future on shaky ground as voluntary administration looms

Lately it’s been 27 degrees at night here in NZ

I think NZ will gravitate to countries where rugby is growing, for the future it looks like Australia is a lost cause. Australia has the same problem with test cricket aside from the big three, Australia, India and England test cricket is dying. Naturally the all blacks will seek out those nations where rugby is growing and partner with them.

NZ already rests all blacks from some super rugby matches due to player workload hence why the early rounds quite often have poor attendance. Can’t imagine what the attendance would be like if they were rested even more like suggested. We need better quality rugby not more rugby. If only australia would ditch afl(a sport only played professionally by them) some of those players could then play rugby.

Even too hot earlier in NZ, rugby technically was a winter sport when it began. There’s no need to have NZ players playing every month of the year. There’s already too much rugby, NZ uses January and some of February to get players ready for super rugby fitness wise. That window can’t be changed unless you want players not ready for the beginning of the season.

Why not combine the BBL and NZ’s super smash into one competition then you don’t need the australian test stars. Add more teams like Canberra, Second Perth team, Gold Coast etc. T20 is very popular in NZ. It’s a pretty short plane ride from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to NZ.
