Every team’s run home: Best and worst final-round scenarios as Broncos need miracle to make playoffs

All is forgiven mate! Love your work

Make top four or make up the numbers: Near impossible to win title from sudden-death section of playoffs

The 2002 Sydney Roosters won the comp from 4th place too..

People wouldn’t switch off or change the channel if their team was playing in a close game though.

Too much unnecessary pressure: Why NRL must change Sunday 4pm kick-off time

It isn’t, people that aren’t religious are using it to try and fit their narrative and agenda lol.

'Significant mistake': Hasler apologises for rainbow jersey as seven players boycott Manly game

You can change your citizenship but not your blood.

Robinson spot on: What would Manly seven think if a teammate refused to wear a Pasifika themed jersey?

If you think not a lot of people support The Kangaroos, what makes you think everyone will drop everything and back an Indigenous side? They don’t represent all of us so they shouldn’t take Australia’s place. However, I’d like to see an Indigenous side play more often against the Maori side.

For the good of the game, we must cull the Kangaroos from the Rugby League World Cup

Many of the people that are upset with the 7 Manly players decision to not conform interest me. They aren’t religious yet there’ll celebrate Easter and Christmas and will support someone of the LGBTQILMNOPYZ community but not someone of faith? At least be consistent. Keep this politically correct “woke” crap out of our game.

Any news on what the bunker was smoking during the Cowboys-Tigers game? 😛

Contract goes up in smoke: Proctor apologises after Titans sack him for 'half-time vape' incident

He’s a good inhaler off the field though..

“Because we have a league that is unpredicatable, where upsets are staple diet and we are constantly unearthing home grown talent.”

That home grown talent was manufactured and nurtured by the NPL clubs they played for growing up before they were scouted. The A-League just gave them a leg up, they didn’t unearth the talent. They just took the credit for it.

The only way to beat the Eurosnobs is by supporting the A-Leagues

You waited all those years for the A-League to start so you could finally watch football at a reasonable hour and regularly? You didn’t go to your local football club and watch them? You’re not a Eurosnob, you’re an Aussiesnob. Don’t claim to be a squeaky clean fan of our game if you didn’t support your local league prior to the A-Leagues existence.

The only way to beat the Eurosnobs is by supporting the A-Leagues

We never qualified because we were in the mediocre Oceania confederation champ. Then got taught a lesson by the South American team after walloping Fiji, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. You’ve seemed to ignore all this in your logic. I’m also intrigued as to how the NSL was a “waste of 3 decades” as they paved the way for what we have now. Respect the past, embrace the future.

Professional football can thrive only with strong community football support

He was pushed out by a group of players that had an agenda against him. Corruption at its finest, so glad he found his feet elsewhere. Terrific coach and an excellent bloke.

The Filipinas love coach Alen Stajcic, so why didn’t Football Australia?

We need to fix our broken youth system first and foremost. We have the talent here, we have the numbers, we have the passion. It’s time we turned those youngsters into top division footballers. We are a nation of elite sportsmen (and women), so let’s pull our finger out. We need to invest more in elite coaches and academies to help nurture and produce elite young players. Pulling the AIS was probably the worst decision anyone has ever made. We also need a pro/rel pyramid in this country for any hope of attracting more fans to the game. The A-League has alienated many fans of the old NSL and current NPL/state league clubs. I’ve seen heaps of players currently running around in the local NPL that are ready to play in the A-League however they aren’t noticed. And if they do get scouted, they’re thrown into a meaningless youth team and their motivation goes out the window as they’re shunned by the usual recycled players of the A-League. Bringing in already established NPL clubs into the frame will help the landscape of football in this country. Enough of the new expansion teams that struggle to stay afloat and can’t attract fans. There are clubs out there that already exist with fans that have a thirst for top tier football. The Australia Cup has shown us that.

'A more gritty, competitive league': Here's where the A-League needs to improve

Adam Reynolds was a peanut in origin. He was much worse than Pearce, get over yourself….

One pass has made all the difference to Mitchell Pearce's Origin legacy

I’m sorry what? A second Perth team? No. What the league needs is a Canberra team for gods sake! No more two team cities until we have a truly national league. “North Swan Athletic”, what a pathetic name. Perth Glory only have fans now because they’re winning. You won’t have enough fans to cater for two Perth teams. What a joke.

How a second A-League team in Perth would work

You’ve stated the numbers for the respective regions. As you can see Southern Melbourne has over 1 million people which surely can support an A-League franchise. Introducing South Melbourne into the top division would encourage the large population to support a local team. They can wear their same kit and keep their colours, just drop “Hellas” from their name.

Five reasons why South Melbourne must be the A-League's next franchise

I completely agree. South Melbourne should have been the second Melbourne team as it would have created a true rivalry. Old powerhouse vs modern powerhouse plus establishing a tribal derby with South playing and being based out of the city centre.

Appreciate the feedback mate. I know it seems like a pipe dream, especially with the FFA’s tough stance on ethnicity etc. But hopefully down the track the FFA can accept the historical clubs of the former NSL back into the top division of Australian football. I wish South Melbourne all the best for their FFA Cup semi final against Sydney FC, should be a great game. If South sell out Lakeside stadium surely the FFA must not ignore the fact that they do have the potential to attract over 10,000 football fans.

The FFA would not disperse the funds correctly I can tell you now. Direct qualification should be a our goal.

Could a Thailand loss be the Socceroos' dream scenario?

Think the author may possibly, probably be a Napoli fan… Serie A is one of the worst leagues in Europe, La Liga and Bundesliga have been king for years now.

Real will win the Champions League hands down. Their squad is immaculate and can go all the way.

And no, I am a Barça fan.

The team who will surprise everyone and win the 2017-18 Champions League

AFL is equally as followed as league and union? No one gives a stuff about AFL in Canberra. Not to mention that the AFL junior comps in Canberra have no where near the participation rates as the real football. Should have put the money we gave GWS towards Canberra United…

Canberra - a footy success story

“Man United fans don’t go to games.”

Oh the irony. Rubbish article.

Ten reasons why City will always be better than United

A NT team would be a great addition to the Queensland Cup as it would slightly promote the game in that state. If there is a PNG team, why not have a NT team!

Should the Queensland Cup expand to the NT?
