Personally it makes more sense to put teams in urban populations that are over 4.5 million compared to a Wollongong for example, which has 289 000. In the future I would love to see places like Wollongong, Canberra and Geelong represented but what our game needs is more people invested and to do so, expanding in Melbourne and Sydney make sense

The idea behind football at the MCG is from a crowd number and atmosphere point of view. The MCG is the biggest stadium in terms of capacity and my contention was that if we fixed the cultural issues, then even the biggest stadiums in the country could be filled and have an atmosphere to behold.

In terms of participation, it seems like the fact is too good to be true, but I assure you that it’s more fact than fiction
