Having reached the halfway point of the home-and-away season, it seems an appropriate time to assess each club's efforts. What have they done this…
To be honest, if the Giants beat Sydney it would be an even bigger upset than round 1. They are in with a chance to match Gold Coast’s third season in term of wins, though. That’s what they will realistically be assessed on.
Greater Western Sydney's win over Carlton was one Giant leap
Are there any rules governing the use of full stops or commas? Or spelling?
Red, black and a whole lot of grey for Essendon
I totally agree. To quote The Big Lebowski, “there’s a lot ins, a lot of outs, a lot of what have yous”. In the end it may be too big and, as you say, involve too many egos to truly get to the bottom of it.
Red, black and a whole lot of grey for Essendon
I actually have great admiration for James Hird. I certainly don’t agree with his actions regarding the supplements, but I do feel that he has been made the fall guy by the club. If he is not brought back to the club it would be a sad way for his career to end and not fitting for a champion of the game. I hope people will remember him more for his outstanding playing career and not for his part in this saga.

Can’t wait for Port and Sydney. It’ll be a ripper.
The half-time report part 1: The top eight
It’ll be close. Hartlett, Ebert and Wingard will be right up there too.
The half-time report part 1: The top eight
Congestion is just the latest trend. It only takes one or two coaches to introduce a different style of play (perhaps telling their forwards to stay closer to goal!) for the other clubs to realise they need to alter their own style.
It's time to leave the laws of Australian Football alone
That’s an interesting view. Do you mean attitude with regard to work ethic? Or that they think they’re better than they are?
North are not as bad as you think
I don’t know if I agree with the ‘injuries’ argument against Origin. Players get injured at training, at home, playing seconds. You can’t wrap them in cotton wool. I know it’s different if they’re not playing for their club, but it happens. I think the preseason would be the best time for it. It’d be far more interesting than meaningless practice matches.
Why State of Origin won’t work for the AFL
The draw will never be fair. At least this year the AFL have tried to equalise it depending on last years ladder. So, Gold Coast aren’t the only team to have an easy run. Adelaide played Saints, Giants, Dogs and Dees in succession and didn’t make the most of it. You can only beat who’s in front of you.
The sky's the limit for the Suns
The opening sentence should read ‘many followers’ not ‘any followers’.
The sky's the limit for the Suns
Thanks for reading everyone. I don’t necessarily think they will make the top four but I think they’re definitely capable. The way they kick goals so quickly is their best asset. Time will tell if they can do it against the top teams.
I also think their loss to Hawthorn was a turning point. They realise they can’t perform like that if they want to be a serious contender.
The sky's the limit for the Suns
Even if they do lose a couple of those games they should still finish top four. Once the finals start they will definitely be the team to beat.
Hawthorn have shown resilience in the face of adversity
