Sorry folks, sandpaper-gate ain’t over just yet

I think you are closer to the truth with what you laid out than certainly the company line given to use by the ACB and the self pitying blubber that Smith and Bancroft debase themselves in spewing out.

Sorry folks, sandpaper-gate ain’t over just yet

“…make them earn selection at the lower level as Shaun has.”… HA!.. what a joke you are …. as if Shaun Marsh ever earned a call up to the test team ..not the first time …or the second time … or the 15th time did he earn it.

Six talking points from Australia vs India fourth Test

“…If you haven’t seen Agar’s quality, you may as well not comment on cricket.”.. what a statement!… so ridiculous no further commentary is required.

Six talking points from Australia vs India fourth Test

Gutsy is calling? I'd ask to speak to Usman Khawaja

Honestly Sheek.,… you are still holding water for the Australian selectors… how many bad selection decisions and losses will it take for you to see what i so clear to most?

Perhaps you should look in the mirror.

The wizards of Aus: Why the selectors must go

Great article… well said. I think until recently Usman was the player treated the worst by selectors (Maxwell, Burns and Renshaw have taken his mantle) and I think his religious beliefs and particularly his refusal to wear the VB logo, based on personal principles did not help his case when selection decisions were made.

I’m not saying the evidence is damning … just that some things dont add up. As for the sugar, I am no expert in ball tampering techniques but my understanding is that sugar assists the reverse swing process somehow… see the kerfuffle around the English and their mints and lollies… see Faf and his lollies furore and subsequent guilty verdict…

I agree it was amateurish… and the cover up attempt even more so… but than so was the Watergate break-in…and that didnt end up real good for the people doing the covering.

Are Australia's bowlers overrated?

Langer is keeping the opening spots open for Warner and Bancroft.. he can’t afford to give Renshaw..or Burns for that matter a chance for fear that they perform… hence playing a rookie, and playing someone who is not an opener for 3 tests (and the 2 in the UAE) and then moving someone up from #3. that they can move back down.

If this were a timeless Test, Cheteshwar Pujara could bat until July

Sheek, I have no clue why you choose to attack people who choose to post their opinion on an opinion site…. but I notice it’s only when someone attacks the Australian cricket selectors…. why is that?… how long can you defend the current Australian cricket selectors in good faith?… if the selectors are so great why do they continually choose insanely unqualified players and pick them in positions they are not known to play.. like Finch to open.. Marnus at #3 … Mitchell Marsh anywhere near the team… etc etc…?
My point is that if anyone in the sporting world currently deserves negative opinions regarding their performances it is the Australian cricket selectors… why do you so vehemently attack people who question their worth…on a sporting opinions site?

What would Australia XI vs Australia A look like?

David Rhys-Jones.

Are Australia's bowlers overrated?

Perhaps q…. but if so, can you give logical explanations for the following 2 oddities:

a) the Bancroft sugar-in-the-pocket episode? and b) pre the Cape Town test match, our three fast bowlers were moving the ball left and right and were getting reverse from the old ball seemingly at will… since the Cape Town test, those very same three bowlers have barely swung it all.. if at all.

Are Australia's bowlers overrated?

Marsh bowled gun barrel straight last test… that’s all he’s ever had the ability to do. You are off-the-scale delusional and getting worse by the day DF.

Are Australia's bowlers overrated?

Yeah nice Drew…. for me, ‘Homerpalooza’ was a favourite, especially this exchange:
Billy Corgan: “…Hey cannonball, I like your statement: when life takes a cheap shot at you, you stand your ground. Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins.”
Homer: “Homer Simpson, smiling politely’.”
Pure genius.

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

Cricket in this country is not a business that is run by a company… maybe to some it is…. the bean-counters, the marketing pimps etc. but not to the vast majority of cricket followers. ‘The company’ as you call Cricket Australia are just the current guardians of a long and rich institution that Australians will not tolerate being mismanaged like it is currently.

You are being far too kind Drew, but I agree re: The Simpsons… you can never have too many Simpsons references… what’s your favourite Simpsons line btw?

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

Thanks Dave… not sure exactly what you are referring to in regards to the 100 in Grade cricket but if it the comments I made in reply to Anon’s post about Matt Renshaw, it was a triple century (345 i think from memory) and I did preface the statement with ‘albeit…’ but I agree it doesn’t hold much water in terms of Test selection… the point I was trying to make was that he hadn’t lost touch completely during that time.

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

Another Moleman…)

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

Sheek,
I don’t get it. Are you saying that because I post a comment here I think I am a genius?… therefore, does the same apply to your good self??..
..and for the record, i do actually believe I am intrinsically smarter then these current Australia selectors….. and hey, I am not bigging myself up smarts-wise… I also believe there are amoeba on Saturn that are intrinsically smarter than these selectors.

Another Test selection embarrassment after Australia's Melbourne meltdown

Great article Paul… summed up my own frustrations with the ridiculous selections that we are being shafted with recently.

The last bastion of the CA Secret Men's Club has got to go

I did not know that Dingo but that does not at all surprise me….like I said, I’m not adverse to seeing Handscombe selected again for the Test team… I just think that right now he needs to sort his technique issues out and score some runs .. preferably in red-ball cricket.

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

It’s a good point Extra.. I was sort of waiting for someone to bring this up about Laird. Whilst he may never have scored a test century, he surely was one of the toughest batsmen to have ever faced a ball for Australia… that 92 he scored vs WI was worthy of a double-hundred at least.

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

Yep Will, I too agree that Renshaw has also been done over bably by the selectors… on multiple occasions. I think that Reason # 3 given in my article above might explain his continuing omission.. especially when you consider the shameless way that Langer behaved in putting pressure on Renshaw’s test spot through the media (whilst in the position of WA Coach… something unheard of previously in Australia) in the lead up games to the start of last summer’s Ashes tests… all so that his love-child Bancroft got his spot… and that particular decision turned out to be an inspiring one.. as usual.

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

Agree completely Ryan… I posted a reply to another poster’s comments (Anon) about who has been most hard done by selection wise and I couldn’t separate Maxwell, Burns and Renshaw…. and although I was never a huge Callum Ferguson fan, in a different Roar Post recently which was discussing what the Australia XI vs Sri Lanka should be, I advocated for giving him a crack…. given how he was so harshly treated after his one and only test to date.

Excuse me, are you saying 'boo' or 'boo-urns'?

Yes indeed Nudge… that I do.
