Truth be told Kalva, Always has been hard to win away, hometown conditions and bias (even with neutral umpires) is difficult to overcome. India is one that will always remain powerful.

Some sort of tactic to get movement out of the ball have been employed probably as long as the game has been played.

Lehmann, seriously ? 😂 Should have been charged for bringing the game into disrepute. The players were using other means than just sandpaper to move the ball and any one in cricket knows it. Besides, Langer has gone out on top. World cup and and ashes win , not sure your point.

Be he did resign gracefully. His letter to CA that was published was graceful and I don’t think he has made any other comment ? But I do agree with you about his “jingoistic” approach. It was what was needed at the time, but the players have obviously tired of it. Interesting times ahead.

Disagree, the game has changed from the antiquated amateur sport that didn’t have coaches and many support staff. It is a fully professional sport that has a multitude of coaches and a head coach who should be in charge. Just like any business. Langer’s ‘jingoistic’ approach was what was required after the SA debacle and CA approached him for that reason. The players lead by the captain, for whatever reason , ( and facilitated by the media ) Don’t want his services and CA would only renew his contract for 6 months. Langer chose to resign and I don’t think he has yest made a statement ? Former players have said his treatment has been a disgrace and I don’t think anyone can say differently. Other than that , fair bump play on.

A 4 for Harris and a 5.5 for Smith. Smith averaged 1 run more than Harris from the protected number 4 position. Crawley averaged 2 less than Harris but gets a 5.5 . “Uzzie” (a class above) averaged 8.5 as an opener? Harris didn’t have a great series but the rating is not fair or consistent.

Yes I know you were trying to be funny, I was pretty worked up about this subject as I have had quite a few family and friends who have not been able to get home to say final goodbyes/funerals and we have been told to suck it up. Absolute disgrace ! Who is responsible for this disgusting decision? People have not been granted medical exemptions to be with loved ones as they take their final breath. People have committed s u icde because they could not travel on compassionate grounds yet this person is granted a medical exemption to play sport. Whoever approved this is finished. Final straw.
