Dogs with confidence. Souths with anything but that for tomorrow. If Souths are to win, they have to be perfect in defence. Dogs have shown great resilience at times this year in defence while Souths have shown next to nothing. If JD was coaching in England, the opposition fans would be chanting you’re getting sacked in the morning to him should Souths go on to lose this one

'I'm sick of telling people I'm actually OK': Demetriou bats back fears over his job as Murray sits out captain's run

Roosters to just get the job done in a low scoring thriller

Dogs have shown a lot more resilience in defence compared to Rabbitohs this season. Dogs to end their Good Friday losing streak

Broncos to get back to winning ways on home soil

DCE to kick Manly to victory

Phins to demolish the Titans, especially with the hosts missing their skipper for the rest of the season

Warriors to comfortably win at home against a not so great Knights team

Hosking benched again so I’m going Sharks

Don’t like Asi and Brown as a halves pairing as I see them as two 5/8’s together in the halves. Tigers to win

The Roar's NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 4 - Injuries cause havoc, pressure builds on Souths, can Tigers roar again?

Just up until the prayers are done which is around mid to late afternoon each day.

As for Ramadan, you can only eat and drink before sunrise and after sunset.

'It reminds us of how helpless we are': Life as an NRL player during Ramadan - with a little help from Hazem

It’s not easy. I’m a practicing Hindu priest and on days of religious festivals, my dad and I are fasting until the religious prayers are done. For Durga Puja (which is the biggest Hindu festival that goes for 10 days), it gets tough. Not eating is fine. It’s the no water that gets to me after a certain time. And the first thing I do after my fasting is done is drink a whole bottle of water before eating anything

Rabbitohs ahead of Dogs despite conceding an average of 37.3 points per game? That’s extremely surprising. And I don’t get this premiership threat talks post Bennett and Reynolds leaving. The Rabbitohs were consistently good between 2019-2021 and make top four. Since JD came in as head coach, the Rabbits have been anything but consistent, either going on a huge winning streak or a huge losing streak. Nothing in between.

NRL Power Rankings: Round 3 - Eels seal real deal status, Bunnies need Easter miracle, Tigers terrrrific, Titans in tatters

Behrendorff has retired from FC cricket as far as I know which is a shame but also understandable. Voges was skipper during the Langer rebuild era at WA and you can see how leadership runs through his veins. I think before he gets an international gig, he might give another franchise league a go for the extra cash and then coach Australia in a few years time. Don’t mind him at Bangladesh over that overrated flog Hathurasingha as well.

Unstoppable WA wallop Tassie to complete unprecedented 'triple double' of Shield and one-day titles

If only the Titans had a halfback a few years ago that could steer them to finals. Oh wait, they let him go to Raiders for a young half only to sign an injury prone 5/8 for 2023 onwards

BREAKING: Scans confirm disaster for Tino, Titans as knee injury further sours Belmore horror show

Good piece Tony. For those who don’t know, former Broncos player Denan Kemp runs a podcast Bloke in a Bar. Outside of his interview with Cam Smith, my favourite one with a player was with Latrell. And Latrell spoke about wanting to challenge himself as a factor for leaving the Roosters and wanting to win a comp as a fullback. Now I think in 2020 and 2021, he looked rock solid at fullback before injuries and suspension cut both those seasons short. But ever since Wayne Bennett left, the big egos at the club have not been able to set the standard at Souths.

Everyone knows how much of a great person Latrell is off the field. And his accolades as a centre is outstanding. But there is a lot of frustration as fans that he has not been able to set the world half alight as a fullback consistently like he has at club and rep level as a centre.

Latrell's not walking the walk after talking the talk: Souths should be worried after star goes missing against Roosters

1. Letting go of Reynolds was terrible with old age the reason, only to keep a Storm reject while signing Wighton a year or two later

2. Lack of communication with players by JD, as we saw with the Mansour saga. No matter how good or bad you are as a player, you expect full honesty from a coach. Once that’s not there, dressing room will crack eventually

3. Leaving Redfern for Heffron may help Souths with better facilities, but it sure won’t help them connect with the fanbase and lose their identity. Redfern has always been Souths heartland. After training, kids would have a kick about with some of the Souths players. You don’t have that luxury at Heffron. Heck, even the parking is segregated between public and Souths players/staff. Look at their form since leaving Redfern. It’s no coincidence that it’s coincided with their downfall. The club needs a true humbling and get back to connecting with the clubs identity and fanbase. Because over the past 8-10 months, they definitely haven’t been remembering the ethos of the club.

Demetriou has 'no doubt' he can turn around Souths after disaster derby sees Latrell binned in Roosters riot

I think it was just Manly being too good on their day alongside Roosters forwards not being good enough. Don’t think the same will happen against Souths. I also like how Sandon Smith goes about his things. Not sure how to pinpoint it exactly, but there’s something fresh about what be brings to the Roosters team

Nice tangent you’re going off. Still doesn’t excuse a Test playing nation not having a women’s team.

Too many key outs for Broncos. Panthers with ease

Hosking being benched surprises me. Wahs could finally get that 80 min performance they’ve been threatening to do this season. Wahs by 2

Roosters by 8 courtesy of a Sam Walker masterclass

Hardest game to select a winner. Dogs will have a Bulldogs crowd that will be loud in Belmore. Titans to spoil the Belmore party in Ramadan.

Dragons to get some form back and produce an upset in Kogarah

Tigers to show fight in Leichardt, but Sharks to have too much class

Manly to exploit the Eels backline and go 3-0

Cogger to kick Knights to victory in a low scoring affair

Great story Mike. It’s something similar to what I went through in high school. People would struggle to say my last name, heck even my first name and came up with other versions of my surname (some being outright offensive). I used to think eh as long as it’s comfortable for those who speak to me. As I got older, I realise I should’ve handled it differently and hopefully for future generations, this doesn’t occur and they can take a stand for themselves.

Broncos with Mam being POTM.
Sharks quite easily
Eels to continue their derby streak in regular season vs Panthers
Raiders to thrash Tigers
Cowboys to beat a resilient Knights outfit
Storm to defeat Warriors in a low scoring game at home
Brooks and DCE to run the show at home
Phins to bounce back (why was Katoa not in the team for the first game Wayne)

The Roar's NRL expert tips and predictions, Round 2: More upsets on the cards after a bloodbath start?

What a cop out answer from him. This does nothing but 1. Normalise racism and 2. Makes victims look bad for rightfully being upset towards being racially abused.

Leniu had the opportunity to apologise during the Triple M interview and in the team hotel I. Vegas. Instead he doubled down and only apologized/admitted guilt after the situation got worse for him.

Back to Olakau’atu. If words don’t hurt you, then why does a few colours on a jersey?

Anyone that misses Langer as coach has rocks in their head. McDonald has got two away Test series wins. That’s the same as the number of away Test matches we won in the Langer era.

As for the NZ coach, they have been woeful with questionable selections for quite a few series. With away tours of Sri Lanka and India coming up later in the year, you’d expect nothing less than a thrashing for them in both those nations

If DRS didn’t exist, we’d see more games end up like the farce that was Sydney 2008 where constant poor umpiring would create a result.

Test Mortem: Aussie aura living rent free in Kiwi minds, Marnus officially in a form slump, DRS needs review

Marnus needs to leave Glamorgan. The pitches in Cardiff were so bad last season that he had to change his stance which has now started this trend of low scores. He looked good for QLD vs SA on a pretty spicy deck. Marnus gives Australia energy on the field, especially during low moments and can change a game with his fielding. Batters and bowlers all have slumps of form. But good fielding can win you games, which Marnus offers. Australia should organize an A FC series against another Test playing nation and get Marnus to play in that series to get him back in the groove.

Another thing he needs to do is not play to survive. His best knock of the summer was a counter attacking 60 odd against Pakistan. Henry and Southee aren’t quick. Follow in the footsteps of Green and take them on to put them off their length. Then milk the singles. It’s what a now retired David Warner did well, especially in Test series against RSA and Pakistan away in 2014.

COMMENT: Horrendously out of form or not, Australia would be mad to ditch Marnus now

Frustrated at the collapse after Henriques got out, but things are improving since Hathurasingha left. Things happen. WA far too good on the day.

Paris, Hilton deliver dose of reality to Blues as WA make history with third straight one-day crown

Didn’t seem like a flat wicket. Chasing has been tough at Eden Park in the domestic T20 games with only one successful run chase in the men’s edition which was below 140. Don’t think 160+ has been chased down at Eden Park in T20 games this season in both men’s and women’s games. Gary Stead needs to stop being stubborn and recall Colin Munro. There is no way that Will Young or Mark Chapman is a better T20 player than him.

'Thought we were about 50 short': Bowlers blitz Black Caps as Zampa takes four, Wade plucks stunner

Because India have lost their premier bowler. Yesterday was a great day to bat on as now it’ll be playing tricks almost every ball. England bowled for over 120 overs in the first innings. They didn’t get to a lead and batted 70. Anderson won’t be bowling at his best. Wood with his injury issues might have to over bowl with bugger all rest time thanks to the sheer stupidity of England’s shot selections yesterday.

Poms defend Root amid furious reaction to 'stupidest shot in England Test cricket history' as Bazball under fire again

Root has got so many Test runs. Even if he bats aggressively without going for the reverse sweep, he can score at a SR of around 60 and annoy India by batting long. With no Ashwin, England had a golden opportunity to just bat day three out and get a sizable lead. Instead, they decided to bottle it and follow in the footsteps of Tottenham. Lead of 322 for India basically 3 down. Jadeja, Sarfaraz, Jurel yet to come. If Gill gets a big ton, India could get a lead of 500+ and then England will be batting when it’s turning square.
