I make up supporting Bangladesh and Arsenal by being a Melbourne Storm fan. Cricket, league and football fanatic.

What surprised me as Tempo mentioned were the pitches. Last time I saw a bowling friendly wicket throughout a Test series here was when SA came in 2016 (granted Perth flattened out a lot from day 3). I expected either 4-0 or 5-0 since Root is a poor tactician who doesn’t know how to utilise bowlers to win away. Was surprised at how poor Ollie Pope was after a promising 30 odd at the Gabba

Revisiting my Ashes highlights and predictions

Attacking IPL FFS not this bs again. Bar Buttler and Stokes, no one else in the main England test squad played in the last IPL. Rabada plays IPL, so does Cummins and Bumrah. That doesn’t affect how they approach Tests. Improve the standards of county cricket by providing better pitches and a Kookaburra ball. While Gower talks about the IPL affecting England, India have won their last two series in Australia and lost 2 Tests at home since 2012.

UK View: 'He must resign' - Root wants to carry on but knives are out after 'ghastly', 'pathetic' surrender

India’s greatest Test captain. Didn’t lose a home series as skipper and only had one poor series as skipper in NZ. Revolutionised the Indian Test team after the mess Dhoni created

'Absolute clarity in my heart': Kohli statement reveals reasons for surprise resignation

Amazing spell of reverse swing by ebadot. Expecting a green top at Christchurch now

Bangladesh Tigers pounce to beat New Zealand: How the world reacted to monumental upset

In the past, Indian selectors rewarded players with good FC form with an ODI cap (Shreyas Iyer being a recent example). Not sure about Hunt and Street in that ODI team since they hardly play List A cricket but definitely it’s something worth looking at

A pathway for Australia’s next generation of Test batsmen

Thank you Paul means a lot. I do believe mum’s death helped me see cricket from an analytical perspective from a young age and ignite my passion for writing on sports.

Unfortunately I will not be going to the New Years test as I’m avoiding going to crowded events before I take my booster (I have other medical issues which is why I’ve been wary when going out since omicron entered Australia). Stuff happens hopefully next year I’ll be at the SCG Test. But I will be going to the ODI vs NZ in February.

Why the Sydney Pink Test means so much to me

A legend of NZ cricket. Got a feeling he’s smashing two double tons vs Bangladesh now would hate to be a Bangladesh bowler rn

Tributes flow for Black Caps great after announcing retirement

These fellas need an Arteta type coach. Someone who will do a whole clean out of the rot stuck in English cricket and slowly build it up in Test cricket again. Oh and won’t let the senior players get away with average intensity during training and matches

UK View: Poms search for answers as 'comically bad' errors leave them on brink of sackings and humiliation

Crawley and Bairstow to open? Crawley averages 28 despite his 267 vs
Pakistan. Bairstow is just a slogger nowadays.

UK View: Poms react to 'doomed shambles,' Rory burned, as lightning strikes twice

Bess is not the best option. Parkinson is but the English selectors are too brain dead to give him a go. Bess is average and is in the squad because he can hold a bat. Bits and pieces cricketer at best who has gotten quite lucky with his bowling in 2021

Say it isn't so: England could end up playing Jack Leach again

Worst time for him but Rory Burns wouldn’t be a bad shout for skipper. Has done well for Surrey as skipper. Maybe the responsibility can make him become into a more consistent batter.

LISTEN: Brendon McCullum's massive whack for Joe Root's captaincy

Oh my god how many more times are we going to hear about Headingley? That was 2 yrs ago where Stokes delayed the inevitable by a week. He’s always been an impact player in Test cricket at best and that’s why he’s neither a consistent bat or bowler throughout his Test career. Cummins has dismissed him twice already this series. That will play on stokes mind for the rest of the series the same way Cummins dismissed gill in every test gill played last summer

UK View: 'Bloody stupid' England savaged after meek Ashes surrender, Stokes put on notice

I don’t get the point of recalling Khawaja in the squad if he wasn’t gonna play. Love Usman but if he wasn’t a certain starter in the XI, then Maddinson would’ve been better off in the squad

BREAKING: Starc survives, Head edges Khawaja as Australian Ashes XI revealed

This will be the new normal re finding if teammates are close contacts or not. As long as there are no close contacts, play on.

Shield plays on after positive COVID case

Gonna be weird for Mitchell and Stoinis to face off each other in a grand game like this. Both played for Scarborough together when Mitchell lived in WA and I think Langer was playing as well at that time.

Kiwis unfazed by underdog tag in World Cup final

Stead’s decision to choose Mark Chapman over Munro looking even better now……….

Black Caps star out of World Cup final with broken hand

So Mason Crane who averages over 41 with the ball in FC cricket is being taken to the Lions squad over Amar Virdi (119 FC wickets at 29.55 and helped Surrey win the 2018 CC). Great way of showing faith to performing spinners by the ECB selectors

The England Lions squad is far more interesting than the England Ashes squad

Netherlands 2014 was the best performance by an associate nation in T20 WC. Scary to think had they held their nerve vs SA and NZ, they would’ve played semis. Afghanistan 2016 had a great bowling attack, but nothing much with the bat bar Mohammad Shahzad

Five memorable Associate victories at the T20 World Cup

The first player I looked for in the England squad was Parkinson. Not there? England don’t have a chance of taking 20 wickets in every test. There will be this pre notion that the Gabba can be breached again but this time they’ll be playing it on a pre Christmas wicket – much different to a post Christmas Gabba wicket. No express bowler bar Wood. Their only chance is in Adelaide where Anderson and Broad can exploit the Aussie lineup against quality swing bowling. Not putting a score line prediction, but Dom Bess’ pies to bowl Travis Head back into Test form this series.

'Premonition of doom': England reacts to Ashes squad, Stokes in frame for shock late call up

I think it’s as simple as this for the Storm – attack Cleary non stop. He doesn’t have the tactical nous of Cooper Cronk yet to coach his boys to victory like Cronk did in 2018 GF. Cleary clearly isn’t at 100% match fitness and Bellamy will know to exploit that hard. Hughes MOTM performance today. Cmon the Storm

JAMIE SOWARD: The pressure imbalance and key battles that will decide Penrith vs Storm

During kickoff for PF number 2, it’ll be 27 degrees in Brisbane. Add the humidity levels you get in QLD and this sets up as a recipe for disaster for the Penrith bodies. They could well easily lose the plot in the first 20 and struggle to find a way back into the game. Cmon the Storm

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals

Politics: Maybe he has upset someone internally. He got kicked out of the 2015 WC squad after breaking team curfew in Brisbane. But bar that, he’s had a clean record. Part of me feels he’s still being punished for that.

Press: Idk why they aren’t honestly. For all the hype the Fizz gets with his cutters on slower wickets, Al Amin has done well for Bangladesh on all surfaces. If Hossain was backed properly from his debut, he’d have over 75 T20I wickets by now

Al-Amin Hossain’s exclusion from Bangladesh's T20 squad is nothing short of a farce

I’d have dropped both Taskin and Rubel. Their averages are way too high for T20 internationals considering they aren’t consistent wicket takers and leak quite a few runs. Al Amin would come in and another bloke called Shohidul Islam as the travelling reserve seamer. 54 wickets in 37 T20s at an average under 19 and SR of 14. Can bat a bit and is a good death bowler. But our brain dead selectors don’t know how to differentiate formats and put specialists in.

Come next years t20 wc, Al Amin has to come down under. Would be the most threatening seamer in Australia, even more than the Fizz.

Al-Amin Hossain’s exclusion from Bangladesh's T20 squad is nothing short of a farce

India have won their last seven T20 series under Kohli’s captaincy. Never lost a T20 series in SENA and bar a home series loss to Australia in 2019, I don’t remember India losing another T20 series under him (2 or more matches not one off games. Kohli has carried this Indian T20 side in the last two t20 world cups while the rest including Rohit were bang average. India can win the World Cup but I have a feeling West Indies will defend their crown

Virat Kohli's captaincy dilemma

Great win and now I can enjoy my mid sem break by watching non storm games. Titans v roosters gonna be a cracker. Absolutely ruthless from Melbourne today and got into the skin of the manly players

'They're in the business of taking souls': Talking points from the Storm’s crushing win over Manly
