Personally I like Pucovski opening. Can’t seem to get that 255* out of my head, and he had a decent first innings against India too. But I wouldn’t be opposed to someone like Harris or Bancroft opening and Pucovski down at 5

you are correct, but I do feel like even if his strike rate is only in the thirties, it will allow Warner to play aggressive at the other end. With the failures of Burns recently, we may need someone like Street just to see off Anderson and Broad with the new ball to allow Marnus and Smith to go to town later on

Krunal Pandya has been pretty average. Would not have him in there. And I’d remove Bairstow for either Dhawan or KL Rahul

Exactly. I’m a big fan of Henriques but I think him prioritizing the T20 WC will see him lose his place to the likes of Head or Inglis

Some good points here. Handscomb should be in consideration for those Asian tests next year. I like the shout of Patterson and Renshaw too

Agreed. Personally I think if Head scored a few more runs over the past years then he could have been the future captain.
I’d consider Maxi for the test matches in Asia next year, but not for the Ashes personally.

I’m a big fan of the Bryce Street call. His defensive batting style could complement Warner nicely. Renshaw played a few great knocks in the shield but I’d argue that these 4 are head of him. As for Maxi, like Handscomb, the only way I see him playing test cricket again is if it’s in Asia. They are both great players of spin, and Maxwell also provides a part time spinner option.

I think surely they have to play Mitchell Santner. Really economical bowler and handy with the bat too.
