Your saying a head high shot is ok if your arms are involved?

More World Cup fan angst to come as farcical Hodge suspension sinks in

He hit the guy in the head, who had to go off and turned the game in Aus favor. The outcome is harsh but Fiji are the ones who were impacted not aus. The tmo admitting he only looked at two angles is the controversy. If he did his job hodge gets red carded at the time, the game is very different and the follow up different as well.

Keen to hear how this would work. Do you think c.32 teams with 4 clubs from the big countries and one or two from smaller countries? Some form of prompt/relegation? I personally believe we will see the emergence of single dominant leagues in all sports. Eg. Champions league. NBA. NFL etc so this fits right into that.

A European Super League would destroy football as we know it

Who was number three when Kalu and Jayusuria opened for Sri Lanka?

India's ODI batting is monstrous

Did Harris get out hooking inside his first 5 test innings? When I was learning that was a never picked again stamp. But every one seems to think this bloke is the next big thing when, as an opener, he’s clearly not got the temperament to bat all day.

Six talking points from Australia vs India fourth Test

Good write up.

Is this the sound of Vettel cracking?

love it – great article. I remember being surprised once looking up double hundreds (I think after seeing Sachin get his at the SCG) even they are relatively rare.

Lara (for people of my age – e.g. young teenagers when he got the 375) will always be in the top 5 all time discussions!

All about 300s in Test cricket

i wonder how much of an impact Hunt and Kuirandrani not being the centres on the weekend had? if Hunt was 12 and Beale was a wing could we have been much more in the game – not saying we go anywhere near winning, but if say we got done 36 – 12 would the reactions have been as hard this week?

Wallabies set to free fall in the world rankings

these two posts are the best on the string – not an ARU descision, and the right one – I loved (LOVED) super rugby in the Cau Cau days, stuck with the Reds all the way through the dire years and then Boom we won it – but lets be honest when I was a kid the Reds where the best provincial side in the world (with the Cru) since the brumbies, force, and rebels its been a slide. cut a team, improve the 4 sides that remain AND THEN do the whole champion team thing.

Australian rugby needs a champion team, not a team of champions

you are correct – wont change the focus of the early spring being on the cox / cup build up – Winx will be the star attraction on the day, regardless of where she’s running. and 12 months from now she will be in the barn and no one will turn out in Sydney for this sham.

Down with The Everest

really good points. one thing that does ring out for me is the argument that what the state players earn does relate to where the next level of players comes from – e.g. if your a high school player and theirs no money in playing in the shield then you would go to a football code…

Australian cricket turmoil: What's really going on in this ridiculous pay dispute?

why would they give $20 M back – if they’re so rich (and have paid income tax on that $20 M so lets call it $35 M) why not just give up the revenue sharing model and have that plowed straight into those programmes? everyones so worried about ‘control’ make sure you get 2 or 3 board positions for the ACA – easy.

Australian cricket turmoil: What's really going on in this ridiculous pay dispute?

how is it a money grab? cricket Australia don’t actually get to keep the money – it doesn’t go to the share holders it goes into running the game.

I think its a fairly standard tactic – they’re not going to cave in so theirs no way you send in the front man until you have a deal.

per comments above – their a not for profit – their not actually taking home anything extra here, no share holders are making more money by screwing the players. its money for the running of the game and the grass roots vs. letting the state squads have 14,15 people in them rolling in the cash.

I’d wager cricket Australia would eb willing to let the shield go this year, but they wont let the big bash go – so whats going to happen then – that’s the real sticking point.

I suspect Brisbane is a slightly larger population then Hobart or Newcastle (or Adelaide or Perth)

Has Brisbane been abandoned by football in Australia?

Made a comment a few weeks ago after a particularly pathetic reds effort – that they looked like they knew they would be wallabies (Moore, Quade, Hunt, etc) so were going through the motions.

Now with the Scotland game – could it be that its a genuinely meaningless game (RWC draw already done) and they are just going through the motions – are we playing too many tests? Has the RWC become too important?

Obviously Origin is tonight – but zero noise in Brisbane this week about the test match.

Have patience, Wallabies supporters, things will click

I think this is like the old human vs horse races, or Michael Schumachers Ferrari vs a fighter Jet.

great for the first 400 metres, but in those events no one was watching at the mile or even 2 miles that a 12 rounder will be.

First round will be worth the $50 bucks but goodness it could get messy towards the end. (note: expecting connor to be too ‘tough’ for a 40 year who hasn’t knocked anyone out in 5+ years to put away with one punch).

How the internet created Mayweather versus McGregor

i remember a story a few years ago about Robby Gordon (Nascar) I think having a test in an F1 car and lapping within a second on his first go – Would love to see a number of different events treated as monuments and special drivers coming in – across all forms.

imagine having Sebastian loeb drive Monaco in a third Red Bull or similar (just charge the big teams a lot of money (or make only 2 of the cars available for the constructors champtionship…))

Others should follow Fernando Alonso's decision to race outside F1

its a good point. After the race the other night I wondered if they should have made lewis give the spot back after he couldn’t catch Vettell (obviously it all happened too late for that – but in reality he was gifted P2 so bottas is now on the back foot in the championship…)

Is it time for team orders at Mercedes?

Rabbits are banned. To keep out some sort of disease.

Love it or hate it, the AFL is top dog of Australian sport

Was in town earlier and their were a bunch of people heading up to the ground. More then I expected

Brisbane Tens highlights: Day 1 live score updates

Australian cricket is full of stories of going back. Working on your flaws and coming back a world beater. White is banging the door down Hayden style at the moment and hohns is picking kids.

Are Cameron White's fears for Australian cricket justified?

Thanks. That’s a very good answer. As a casual AFL fan I hadn’t seen that side of it.

Get on board AFL Women's, or miss out on something great

I just timed four points and all were over 25 secs one was 37.

I don’t watch tennis as I find it slow. Speed this one rule up and you will get more people watching.
