'Easy to throw stones': RA chairman hits back at mudslingers' 'hypocrisy' after calls for AGM board cleanout

Seems like nothing has changed in the last 10 years.

Brumbies to welcome back Wallabies duo for 'Canes clash after week of soul-searching, Tahs to tweak side for Chiefs

100% Derek, in fact I was a little surprised with Ben’s piece, not about the comeback ( congrats on that Ben) but the lack of 2nd rowers.

Apart from those you’ve named I would add Ned and the fellow from Rebels (not sure of his name but the one that the Drua 9 bashed in the head)

If Australia is looking for big men, let's not neglect the old and the fat

didn’t he come from the AFL 😂

Problem is captains run is vastly different to game day intensity

Great news for the girls and good to see. Love their passion and joy when playing.

'Hugely important': Wallaroos hail Rugby Australia's huge step forward after multi-million dollar deal

Poor explanation on my part Mirt, apologies. I should have explained that IMO Gordon is the front runner so far this season and Donaldson should be the backup

The Wrap: Why SANZAAR must hold Frank Lomani accountable for 'going back for his hat'

A great line from a sorry episode Geoff, mind you what else would you expect from Canberra 😂 😂 which of course leads me to the Brumbies.

The Blues play a style very similar to the AB team of 2023 and I wonder if the imagined Schmidt WB list had a lot of names crossed out by early Sat evening. The Brumbies were woeful and lacked any enthusiasm. For me aside from Valetini & Cale and Reimer (when he came on) the rest of the forwards were non existent and Swain in particular has learnt nothing in the last 18 months ( caught on camera slapping ones of the blues across the face).

If Noah is the WB 10 our trajectory will continue south. In the 2nd half Brums finally getting some momentum, he tries to pull of a dumb chip kick and like going “back for your hat” a short time later repeats the kick but this time a bit higher and a bit longer with the same result. He must be the only 10 in international rugby that can’t consistently kick a penalty to within 5m of the goal line the majority end up 10-15 m out.

Wright was average and Toole never saw the ball.

On the other hand Gordon & Donaldson were good, another couple of 2nd rowers potentially came into the WB mix and I’m not 100% convinced on Harry W or Liam W

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

😂 😂 Yeah Rory currently saying BS time will tell.

Once Izzy P goes he would be a good get for the Tahs

Can’t argue with either although it depends who fits best with Skelton. I think we need big Will so who fits best, Hannigan?? Or the guy from Rebels or the 2 you mentioned

2022 !!! Harry , Geez we’ve had 3 coaches, 2 chairpersons, 2 CEO’s and 47 hangers on since then

True but that was because EJ flogged him (and the rest of the team) in training after the Georgia game and he injured himself

Derek didn’t he suffer a couple of long term injuries and took off o/seas as he couldn’t get a look in at NSW

Hey Southcoast I think you’ll find the 2014 SR final was at Homebush and the crowd was around 65K+

But your observations were spot on

Dusty I think the selection of Richie was an FU to Rory by EJ

IMO we most definitely need Will Skelton, a jumping 2nd rower with a jumping 6 or 8. Big Will will destroy most mauls

😂 😂 well done Ben, love it and about time someone highlighted the positives coming thru. Across all 5 Oz SR teams there is a number a young exciting players to watch.

Will they be up to it against the ABs, SA, Wales and co, maybe not this year but I’m sure Schmidt & co are excited

Enough of realistic expectations, let's get excited about future Wallabies

Thanks for taking the time to respond Russ. I understand the need but I would think you will have a much better chance of achieving what you want by throwing around some suggestions about change.

COMMENT: Australian rugby is a depressing picture - the RA board must be axed and the constitution changed

I think he would top okay but best as a 12. Could fill that gap for a couple of years while some of the younger players come through. Outside of Forketi not sure who else can step up. Samu Kervi doesn’t play here and wasn’t outstanding 2023.

Thanks Russ for taking the time to publish this. Most of what you state we already know is I’d be more interested it what you plan for the future.

You talk about TV rights. How would you propose encouraging them to increase their offer in an economic environment where every $$ counts. Any increase in $$ means it comes from somewhere else

How do you propose introducing rugby into public schools where in todays age the vast majority of teachers don’t coach sport

NSW produces the largest number of rugby players but the professional side is a basket case and according to a lot of views so is their financial position.

Respectively are you not part of the issue being a board member of NSW Rugby.

At the end of the day this sounds like more of the same

To be clear Hansen meeting up with Eddie Jones in France had nothing to do with the Wallabies.
Interesting quote from Cron “He rang. Like most things in the rugby, to be honest, in these sorts of positions, it’s done by phone calls and ‘I need a hand’, and it’s not really done quite often by sitting down and doing an interview. I don’t think I’ve ever done an interview.” So EJ was telling the truth, he hadn’t done an interview with Japan.
Question should have been have you had a phone chat with Japan
