The Statewide League is professional
Dear footy fans: Stop saying you want North or Gold Coast to move to Tassie

'I've got the pill!' Manhunt underway as Swans issue plea to find Franklin's 1000 ball
As a resident of Tasmania and someone who has had involvement with the State Wide league over many years, I have to disagree that we deserve an AFL team here. At the moment local and country teams are folding at a monotonous rate and the State Wide league has lost about 40% of its teams, plus no one goes to the games. The point I’m making is football is in an ailing state in Tasmania.
You can’t use the figures from the Hawthorn and North games as both these teams already had established supporter bases here. A new team will start from scratch hoping to change loyalty of people from supporting other teams their whole lives. I for one would not change

What other reaction would one expect nowadays. If he wants it as a keepsake that’s great, but if he hopes to flog it off he will need some sort of authentication, that can only come from the Swans or Buddy. Bit of a stumbling block I would think

If you are seriously considering up to the availability of twenty changes, then Carlton are going nowhere in 2022
2022 AFL season preview: Can Vossy take the Blues back to the promised land?
It’s a big jump from 16th to playing finals, given the team hasn’t changed dramatically, and particularly with a first year coach, who previously struggled badly in the job. I’m a big fan of Voss the player, but as a coach he needs to improve on past performances. I hope this isn’t another revolving door coaching selection that Carlton are famous for, l must admit it took me by surprise.

You obviously haven’t heard the Barmy Army live.

“Greens best place to work on his flaws is the Test arena”. In the past players who had problems with form or batting/bowling flaws were told to sort them out in the Shield comp. Are you suggesting Green is good enough to take a spot while sorts himself out. We need to remember he has taken wickets against an English team that has been absolutely flogged. Last year he couldn’t buy a wicket against India. Unfortunately I feel Ponting has a bit of an influence over George Bailey, being ex Tassie teammates.
Khawaja deserves his chance in Hobart
Simple solution, drop Green who once again has failed with the bat, and bring in Head.
'A huge call': Khawaja to be axed despite comeback ton, says Ponting
It was certainly well done by the Bangas. Adam, the claim of NZ being world test cricket champions is only recognised in one place, and we know where that is. To be truly world champion you must consistently beat all teams home and away, not just on the postage stamp sized grounds in NZ.
From mosque shootings to a miracle: Bangladesh cricketers' incredible return to NZ
You need to remember they faced Lillee and Thomson while playing against Australia. No mean feat by itself.
Top ten Test opening pairs in history
Haynes and Greenidge were far and and above better openers than Langer and Hayden IMO. Of course different eras, different bowlers faced.

It concerns me that the Dockers have always seemed to have decent players recently. Pavlich, Sandilands, Walters, Hasleby, Mundy, Fyfe, and even Headland to add some grunt. I’m not sure if they were all in the same era, but there must have been other reasonable players to make up the team. Their performances have been mediocre at best. Is it the administration, poor selection of coaches, or mentally still living in the shadows of big brother West Coast.

What has Green done to fit into your description of the two best bowlers
BRETT GEEVES: Boland's crushing of 'veterans fifth grade' England might not be enough for another Test
Blundstone, always been a graveyard for spinners. I think Tasmania only pick one to keep up the over rate, rest the strike bowlers, and any wicket is a bonus.
Why Australia should hand Swepson an Ashes debut
If Cowan had any say in the National team selection, they’d all be from NSW, not just the 70% at the moment
Why Australia should hand Swepson an Ashes debut
Are you able to expand on the teammates names that gave him this description, or did it come via commentators, like the rest of the description you rely on. There are a few players in the SS, Renshaw, Kawaja, just to name two, who are making plenty of runs in the Shield.
DAY 3 REPORT: 'That's why we love sport'! - Boland delivers Ashes with insane figures of 6-7
Green has taken 6 wickets in 6 completed innings, nothing more, nothing less. As for Root being his bunny, he’s got him out twice after our strike bowlers have softened him. Obviously from the vindictive nature of some of your replies, I can only assume your all from WA, the ever parochial capital of Australia.
DAY 3 REPORT: 'That's why we love sport'! - Boland delivers Ashes with insane figures of 6-7
Why would you assume Boland goes after a Test performance like that. Surely he deserves another game, after all it’s a dead rubber. I’d drop Green, his performances as an all rounder have not been successful. I can’t work out whether he is a batting all rounder or bowling all rounder, because so far he doesn’t fit into either category, plus his fielding needs work for Test level. People say he’s popular in the team, who cares about popularity contests in the National Team.

Still none of you mentioning the fact Green has failed the test as an all rounder by making no runs. If the selectors pick him as a bowler, then fine, pick another specialist batsman. Who then gets the push for the MCG when Cummins comes back?
FLEM'S VERDICT: 'Cummins-like' Green and brilliant Lyon leave England 'rabbits in headlights'
Last year Green couldn’t take wickets against a better side. This year so far England have been basically uncompetitive. Any bowler in the team shouldn’t have too much trouble taking a wicket or two, the problem with Green is he has been chosen as an all rounder. He hasn’t made any runs against a very ordinary English attack. How long can you keep your place in the team under the term potential. If Glen Maxwell was given six consecutive tests to prove himself, he’d still be there.
FLEM'S VERDICT: 'Cummins-like' Green and brilliant Lyon leave England 'rabbits in headlights'
Describing his overall performance. I suppose you were impressed with his opening non play of the ball that bowled him. It was the shot of an amateur and should have been called that way
Ashes DIY player ratings from the first Test: The results
They always talk to him, and once asked him to cancel his IPL tour and play shield to better prepare him for the upcoming test season. The selectors didn’t even include him in the squad. No loyalty shown in return by the big knobs there.
