I think people are getting caught up in the hype about Green. He finally took a few wickets but made a golden duck. I believe the jury is still very much out on him

Ashes DIY player ratings from the first Test: The results

Same goes for Langers little pet Green. Out first ball not playing a shot. How long do we put up with him as our greatest next all rounder

Head bashes Poms with blistering ton, Warner's no-ball stat as bizarre umpiring under fire: Talking Points

Your whole article is suggesting Warner has been very lucky all this time. This is garbage, the rules of cricket say you can only get out from legitimate balls. If the bowlers keep dishing up no balls to him then that’s his good fortune. Warner intimidates bowlers making them lose their concentration, therefore they try to blast him out and end up over stepping the line.

Head bashes Poms with blistering ton, Warner's no-ball stat as bizarre umpiring under fire: Talking Points

Just because Green takes one wicket in an innings that is falling apart, don’t everyone get excited thinking we’ve finally got an all rounder. His past performances bowling wise have been abysmal. I hope for his and Australia’s sake it is the start of something good.

Decent all rounders are a rarity, we haven’t been blessed with one since Gilchrist. If they had persisted more with Maxwell maybe we would have the best in the world at the moment, but no I don’t think Lehman liked him for some reason.

'Gee, you're a bit harsh on me': Warne divulges Smith complaint, Pat's perfect start, England's 'huge gamble' backfires: Talking Points

I would put the Australian women’s cricket team miles in front of any basketball team for the very same reasons you are using

Why Perth Wildcats deserve to be crowned the best team in Australian sport

Jason Gillespies 201 not out coming in as a night watchman, would have to be right up there with the best of them. Poor bloke never got chosen for another test after that.

Ashes countdown: Boonie's beers, Gilly's glory feature in part 1 of our 40 biggest moments from past 40 years

The mere mention of Boycott makes me want to cry. I was the MCG back in the 70s and Boycott and John Edrich I think opened the batting for England. They proceeded to block pretty much every ball they faced. By the end of the day the Poms were about 1/140, the slowest and most boring days cricket you’ll ever see. You need to balance up his 100 ton achievement by the age he played until. He was over 40 in the Test I described, which shows how much the Poms were struggling for decent opening batsman then

World Cup result will have no impact on how the English play during the summer. Almost totally different team, still think we’ll beat them easily.

The World Cup result is a disaster for the Ashes

I have to agree with your sentiments there. I’m still not sure whether this was written tongue in cheek to get reactions from our kiwi friends.

Why astute cricket analysts cannot call the Kiwis the best in the business

James are you going to plead guilty to the above?

MATCH REPORT: Warner blasts Aussies into semis as Windies legends bid farewell

What a horrible thought

Zampa stunning, Marsh brutal as statement win delivers huge momentum shift for Aussies

I have little knowledge of soccer but I am impressed with the spread of players we have in the leagues around the world, not forgetting our own A League, which I am told is improving yearly.

Kiwi Olympian gets Socceroos call up as three stars miss out for crucial World Cup qualifiers

Hooray someone has finally picked a team without either of the Marsh brothers, not even a mention as a backup. Have we finally reached that time where we’re rid of them from the Australian team.

DAMIEN FLEMING'S First Ashes Test XI: 'In an ideal world he doesn't play', 'the one we've waited years for'

He currently sits on 14 weeks of total suspension, am I right in saying that if you accumulate 16 weeks you are automatically deregistered. That seems to ring a bell with me somehow

Toby Greene finally learns his fate for ump bump after AFL appeal

GWS are owned by the AFL and they need them to keep succeeding, I doubt Greene will be going anywhere, he would be on too big dollars for other clubs. From memory he gets off a lot at the tribunal, or just gets fines. Very lucky for a player of his ilk.

Official AFL viewing ratings 4,290,000 – NRL 2,930,000, both figures rounded up, but easy to find on the internet

Manly and Sharks to relocate, two new teams in Qld plus Fiji and PNG: Tough expansion calls NRL should make

There must be something about him that Fagan doesn’t like if he’s willing to pay big dollars for Daniher, who imo is just a player.

Meet the 'match-winning diamond in the rough' AFL teams should no longer ignore

Four years is a long time for young Brownless to have to wait for a senior call up. Particularly if he has just won the Liston Trophy as you say. This is possibly more proof of Chris Scott’s inability to develop youth

AFL free agency state of play: Who's available and where they'll end up

I remember Tilbrook was a much maligned person when he played for Melbourne due to the rumoured contract he was on, hence the name Diamond Jim. But the Jim Tilbrook having a beer and chat in those change rooms that night was as basic as they come, great bloke

'Basil cooked that': Footy world outraged over incredible grand final presentation oversight

I was playing rank suburban amateurs in Melbourne in the mid 70s, I can’t remember the other team we were playing but they had this giant of a bloke just standing in the goal square taking marks and kicking goals. I know he kicked a lot that day because they flogged us and we were on top of the ladder. We all mixed after the game and what do you know, it was Diamond Jim having a kick and a beer with his mates, and boy did he enjoy a beer. Don’t know what happened to him after that, we Played the same team in finals but no Jim.

Since when was Dane Swan an expert on what is good or bad entertainment. Everyone needs to remember all this low brow entertainment happened at night, something that hasn’t happened before. There were no big acts, just a few locals that most of the rest of Australia hadn’t heard of. You can’t blame Covid-19 for no big acts, it’s more to do with that nutty premier in WA not letting anyone in.

Sounds like something a Collingwood supporter would say. We done well getting to the grand final

Nice first up article, particularly on a subject we rarely get to debate here. Perry is a champion in the true sense of the word, she along with the World beating Australian team have given us great pleasure for over a decade, when you can actually see them. I feel Perry will come good, perhaps not as a strike bowler, but more an innings breaker type.

Where does Ellyse Perry sit in Australia's bowling line-up?

Things like that happen when you play the grand final in Hicksville
