Bonza was forced to follow Cronulla since childhood and fortunately suffers from selective memory loss. Last Origin recollection is the Bryan Fletcher hand grenade celebration.

Yep, it's January and I'm thinking of State of Origin. Who isn't? Cricket let us down badly this summer, its role is to distract…
Lost a lot of faith in Freddy/Brandy with that one.
If he’d toweled up Campbell Graham or Crighton that’d be Origin-worthy. But running over the top of Harper is like shooting fish in a barrel.
With all due respect to Harper.
Cronulla v the best: How can the Sharks improve to help them get over the line in big games?
100% re Moylan. Big sigh of relief when he went.
Need a few crazy forwards and more from the hooker.
Someone like a Ben Kennedy or Ogre O’Meley. Fifita took care of that in ’16.
Cronulla v the best: How can the Sharks improve to help them get over the line in big games?
That about sums it up. Disappointed we can’t get some alpha male props for this year but big Tom could have a breakout year.
Talakai definitely away from the centres and hoping to see some young uns in there. Kade Dykes and/or Kayal Iro both due for a call up.
We won 2016 on the back of the perfect balance of brash young backs and hard nosed forwards with some skill.
Current backline very good, need a Fifita/AFB type prop and aggressive tackling machine like Matt Prior.
As for “unlikeable” – I can only imagine you’re referring to the likes of Gallen, Ennis and Fifita. But to be fair we also had good guys like Wade Graham, Luke Lewis and the mighty Chris Heighinton.
In Fitz we trust

Pretty bloody sad.
Must have been tragic for a man so renowned for his strength to be so decimated by disease.
Great player, absolutely loved his aggression.
NRL world in shock as Maroons legend Carl Webb loses MND battle at just 42
What an absolute flog with a ridiculous sense of self-importance.
COMMENT: BBL Pom's disgraceful ump incident deserves bigger ban - and shame on Aussie icon for 'both-sidesing' it
Wow, at last for Tigers fans. The train wreck responsible for coach after coach being punted, bizarre roster decisions and general incompetence has finally gone.
I’d be headed straight for Dick’s Hotel for a few cold ones.
There just might be good times ahead.

Is it just me, or does 8 years seem like a very long time for Olakau’atu – and for that matter any player?
Especially as a player who relies a lot on power, how effective will he be when he’s nudging 30?
Always intrigues me – 5 years at the most would be best for everyone.
Good luck to him.
2024 NRL Transfer Centre: Warriors re-sign breakout star, Panthers extend Tago's enure, Bulldogs bolster pack
100%. 2 big, aggressive middles for the ole 1/2 punch.
Wouldn’t say no to a slightly mad backrower either, in the Ben Kennedy/Liam Martin model.
Pressure Points: Craig Fitzgibbon has proven himself in the NRL – now, he needs to show that Sharks aren’t flat track bullies
Mainly because every team needs a “character” or rascal.
Chooks had Fletcher, Broncos had Alf and so on.
Eight-time premiers: Who makes Manly’s greatest-ever team of grand-final winners?
Love me a “Greatest Ever” list to get me through the seriously dull late November/early December period.
Hard to disagree with any of these, especially like Snoz on the wing. One of the better outside backs of the 80s and can kick goals under pressure.
Possibly would find room for Fatty, although that would be for his off-field contributions as much as anything.
Eight-time premiers: Who makes Manly’s greatest-ever team of grand-final winners?
Ha ha, yep not knowing anything about a subject doesn’t stop them from talking about it.
Or me and my mates, for that matter
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
Bloke in a Bar said the same.
The sudden silence would’ve unnerved Indian players
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
Not trying to be smart but they are the best team.
The best team in every sense – fielding, bowling, batting, everyone chipping in when it counts.

But preferably when it’s in India 😁
ICC announces World Cup final to be 'best of three' following India's loss, BCCI complaint
He’s a brilliant captain. Always thinking and aggressive.
Plus he leads by example – gets the big wickets and aims up with the bat.
Dare I say it, AB or Tugger esque?
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
Head’s got that rare cool head in big games because as you said – he seems to treat it as a game. Never seemed nervous which had a great effect on Marnus.
I was sh%ing bricks when we lost 3 wickets but he didn’t appear concerned.
His century was magnificent, but that catch…wow
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
That was exactly the innings I hoped Marnus would deliver. Stay in there, don’t be silly.
Great to watch the silence.
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
How good was the silence!
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
It was eerie / fun watching the silence when Australians hit boundaries or took wickets
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
I’m going to say it – that was one of Australia’s better sporting moments.
To block out the noise of that crowd and win was immense.
Can’t wait to watch it all again with that beautiful feeling of knowing you won.
Very happy with how Marcus kept his cool and let the legend do his stuff.
Am naming my next child Travis, regardless of gender.
CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win
In front of that crowd and weathering that aggressive start…that’s got to be their best win.
Bit dusty today and am praying for a Bob Hawke holiday

Heard someone say the Broncos’ pack won’t have it so easy on Sunday. Fair enough, but neither will the Panthers. Both mobile and super-aggressive.
Hoping for one of the better GFs we’ve seen in a while, because I can’t see either team backing down, even if trailing by a fair bit.
And if the Lions and Broncos get up, I’m taking the week off and heading for the Valley.
NRL prelim finals talking points: Why Broncos have the firepower to give Penrith a run for their money
To be fair, 3 of their best players (Reynolds, Haas, Staggs) are Blues, so you’re off the hook.
NRL prelim finals talking points: Why Broncos have the firepower to give Penrith a run for their money
Watching Wales play showed that good attacking rugby is still possible.
Sharp passing, great line running and some initiative with a chip kick.
Australia have plenty of young players who can do all that – the trouble is, they’re headed straight to league or Aussie Rules.
Rugby has been a hard sell to kids for the past decade and this will make it even harder.
