Agree Carlin, and this is why I’m open to being very pleasantly surprised!

No doubt the next developments will be the crucial ones..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

Not intentionally!!

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

No, I don’t agree with all that Sheek, there is much more at play here than just Australia..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

It’s going to make the transparent consultancy phase very interesting, Mike…

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

Sorry mate. But you’re welcome?

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

I’m not sure we’ll go back to those days, BF. I just can’t see how long tours will ever be commercially viable, Lions tours notwithstanding..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

Agree, Hugh. But happy to stand corrected..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

Is that a double negative? 😛

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

One of many questions Mark, for sure. The structure of the southern season would be interesting, because there would have to be some level of rugby played in the first part of the year – we couldn’t have guys coming into TRC Tests or Bledisloes off pre-season only..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

And that will be the test, Mug: can common goals and good will overcome inevitable self interest?

Surprise me, rugby..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

And I reckon that’s where this falls over, Josso. The Euro clubs have shown no interest at all in working to improve the international game; they effectively see Test rugby as competition that kills opportunities to make money..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

No, but the clubs are named as stakeholders to be included in discussions JD, and I don’t really see why that’s needed..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

I see it the other way, if anything Jimmy, that World Rugby almost go out of their way to keep the 6Ns happy..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

Or they didn’t reach the right conclusion, Mug!!

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

And I am open-minded about the idea, Tony, if a suitable and workable solution could be found. I just wonder if a suitable and workable solution can be found…

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

As I mentioned above Terry, I don’t read this as being a 2021 goal. In fact, it almost certainly can’t be achieved in that timeframe…

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

And that alone makes it worth pursuing, Peter, for sure.

SMI (above), I can’t see any way for the club seasons to be aligned, so I’m not really sure why they’re getting such recognition in all this..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

That’s interesting, Sailo. It’s certainly worth reiterating that the statement came out from SANZAAR and the Six Nations, not World Rugby, which was interesting in itself..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

Cheers Bob. It’s just such an obvious question, which again, make it surprising that there’s been so little discussion about it..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

There’s no point conducting a review if you don’t already know the outcome, Carlos!

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

I’ll be stunned if there’s even any other suggestion, Ferret.

I did find one article from the UK around this that suggested the 6Ns *might* have to shift to Mar-Apr, so as to avoid The Rugby Championship being played at the height of the southern hemisphere summer in Feb, but that’s it..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

I certainly believe that even if they managed to make progress on this, it wouldn’t be for next year anyway. It suspect it would be 2022 at the earliest, which then might even become too close to the next RWC, in which case it might not move until 2024..

The global season: Who wins a contest of good intentions versus self interest?

Reckon you might just take the L, Bobby..
