Seemed to go ok tonight. That’s the point, good sides CAN win without key players. They were no chance in 2018 in a similar situation.

The Des-surrection of Manly

They won 3 from 10 there last year, so 2 out of 3 ain’t bad in 2019.

The Des-surrection of Manly

Agreed. The attitude in defence has improved dramatically. Last season an error in their half or a repeat set would inevitabley lead to an opposition try.

The Des-surrection of Manly

Compared to last year, being competitive is a big step up.

The Des-surrection of Manly

Maybe DCE is finding it easier off the back of a forward pack playing as a unit and defending for each other. In regards to the early crow, my point is Manly are showing signs of being back on track, they are a realistic top 8 chance which is a step up from where the majority of pundits had them finishing at the start of the season.

The Des-surrection of Manly

Hi Insider. I had a paragraph on the inclusion of Garrick and Waddell and the faith shown to Parker and Elliot. Some info on current form etc but it didn’t make the cut.

The Des-surrection of Manly

Just the coaching options that get thrown up in the media, not specifically newspapers and listening to Jake and DCE on an NRL podcast.

Press is referring to the media not posts.

I was referring to the negative press about the continuing coaching conundrum. I do see Des as a positive.

Back to the future. Whoa, this is heavy.

Hasler on verge of Manly return

Is there anything below rock bottom? The negative updates continue to flow.

Foran played tough at Manly for years. He often took the ball to the line and was wearing cheap shots long before JT called for “playmaker protection”. Unfortunately playing tough and injured along with a few personal issues and club switches have taken a toll on his football. I don’t know at 28 years of age if he can ever recapture that form he displayed at Manly in his early years. He was destined to become a NZ great, thrust into representative football after only nine NRL games.

Is Foran bad for the Bulldogs' rebuild?

In somewhat of a surprise Cody Walker leads all 5/8’s for try assists, line breaks and line break assists. Maybe he did come into calculations. Seems to me like the selectors would consider Milford, Moylan and perhaps even Hunt and Peachey ahead of Walker.

Correct. Injured (and out of favour when fit)

Fair point. I was more looking at projecting the side early in 2018. Secondly, Australia had so often a core group that they could consistently turn to. I’m pretty sure it’s been a while since they simultaneously debuted a 1, 3, 6 and 9.

In the original version I had those players grouped as out of form/out of favour. My fault for not putting Ferguson and Dugan in a seperate category. Ferguson was definitely IN form but OUT of favour.

The NRL also kept quiet on the connection they have to the Towards Zero campaign via the Knock on Effect.
Taken from the website is a summary of the campaign and its connection to the NRL

‘At the heart of every country community is a passion for sport. Sporting clubs could play an important role in supporting communities affected by road trauma by promoting positive messages around road safety.’ Brad Fittler, Rugby League Legend

“We’re proud to partner with the National Rugby League and NSW Rugby League to tackle road safety in the country head-on. While a knock-on may seem like a small mistake on a footy field, it can have dramatic consequences on our roads.
Brad Fittler, Boyd Cordner, Wade Graham and Jake Trbojevic have joined forces to support the Knock-On Effect campaign.

This was a knock on of Ben Hunt proportions.

Does the 'no dickhead' policy only apply to players?

Nifty. A nice article.
Mark Schwarzer rates him as Englands number one striker. The front three of Liverpool is an imposing unit and at their best majestical. Recent form suggests Sturridge and Shaqiri may get more game time. With the addition of Keita and Fabinho this is perhaps the best squad Liverpool has put together for a few years.

Daniel Sturridge, an outsider who could become crucial to Liverpool’s title chase

Ok will what’s taking so long at Manly. Make a call or sign a nobody. Going back to my article, the coaching situation still remains a dilemma. Who would you like to see as Coach?

How Manly hit Eagle rock bottom

If you see coming from the clouds as working as an assistant coach under people like Wayne Bennett and Craig Bellamy. Seibold was actually at Manly…one that got away perhaps. Who is this great nobody Manly have in their sights, or has he already signed as reported by the attendees of the members forum.

How Manly hit Eagle rock bottom

How about team members on an NRL podcast stating they would have liked the coaching situation sorted out a bit quicker. Do you agree with that or happy to just let it drag out while quality coaches either knock them back or are signed elsewhere.

How Manly hit Eagle rock bottom

A great website update today. Discussions continuing. What happened to the signing of a Coach. Manly can thank the Tigers coaching dramas they are not all over the back page. I’m not sure how much faith I would have in Gormans other statements.

How Manly hit Eagle rock bottom

No, nobody is jealous of them anymore. Their fans are not happy, check the fan forums and look at the crowd figures. The coaching situation is a joke. This is a sad situation for a once feared and hated team.

How Manly hit Eagle rock bottom

Melbourne, Roosters definitely ahead of Manly. Manly going backwards with the current coaching fiasco. Not getting Maguire, and the possible promotion of Cartwright to head coach is not the news their fans wanted to hear.

How Manly hit Eagle rock bottom

I trust it wasn’t Maguire they had appointed. If it’s Cartwright, judging from what I’ve been reading their fans will not be happy.
