Nils Politt now on the front for the breakaway in response to a drop of about 5 seconds in their advantage. He restores parity and the gap is back to 19 seconds.

The addition of some extra help at the front of the peloton has reduced the break’s advantage to 20 seconds.

Bora and FDJ are joined on the front by Cofidis for Christoph Laporte. The sprinting teams are clearly worried by this powerful breakaway. Earlier on the world feed, the commentators mentioned the remarkable fact that none of these riders on the front weigh less than 70kg.
