I find all this quite difficult. The fact that Saad will get banned for 2 years for having an energy drink on match day is one thing.

To then look at the Bombers scandal and see what these boys were given in a systematic implementation of stuff that is perhaps worse than what was in that energy drink get potentially 6 months suspension or even nothing.

This boggles my mind, if Saad goes and the Bombers do not then this decision will be worse than the DRS in the current Ashes series.

Why Saad shouldn't be allowed to play

Psst, he has a few injuries this year, came back early suffered for form and got injured again.

I guess you watch AFL360 and garner your opinion from those guys trying to find something to talk about? Try sitting in the stands and watching the guy live when he is playing, he is better than people give him credit for, and works bloody hard.

What now for Karmichael Hunt?

Could not agree more with this article. Tough gig at Melbourne.

Hey everyone, give Mark Neeld a break

Lets face it, Cooper was left out because he stuffed up last year. I support Cooper but it was an error and fair enough, I do support the Wallabies far more than any one player so all this is a bit of a storm in a tea cup really.

I for one think that this series will be epic with a style of Rugby that i love, tough, tight and brutal. Happy days I think!!

Australia, time to get behind the Wallabies

Awesome read, applies as you said not only to cycling but life..

The power problem in cycling

The Suns have only been uncompetitive for 1 game this season, against Port.. In fact the first quarter we were going the hardest I have ever seen us with the ball in hand or chasing Port when they had the ball, we were manic!

The 2nd quarter though, we came out and could not move, we were slow and could not get to the ball first. Port took their foot of the pedal in the 2nd half and that is why we did not get beaten by 100.

I am not sure if two really tough wet games in a row left our boys a bit cooked and it is interesting to see that the Lions also had the same issue as us this week. Last week was a very tough game for both teams, perhaps it took too much out of both of them.

It is easy to become alarmed in cases like this, I think see how the Suns go against the Giants before throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

We are much improved this year and with some boys coming back in this week we will hopefully show again that we have heart.

For this to happen though, we really need to drop certain players. Some guys are just not having a go, McKenna has to get a little bit harder on these guys. Lets hope his sharpening the axe comments after the game are followed through with.

It was a sad sight to be sitting in the stands on Saturday night and see the crowd streaming out of the ground throughout the last quarter. The atmosphere was like a morgue!

The last quarter of every other game at Metricon Stadium this year has been great, the crowd has been extremely vocal and the team has been scoring and going hard at the other team. It is a great stadium when things are going well for us!

Gold Coast Suns still not shining

Classic.

Don't talk about it Adam Scott - just do it

I get to Every Suns home game. Let me tell you that the boys around Gazz are picking up the slack, gone are the days when they look up and just give it to Gazz. Against the Saints they were not just giving it to Gazz, in fact he had to find a lot of the ball himself, look at the # of contested possessions.

Not only did Ablett have an astronomic game on Saturday, the work from the rest of the team was equal to the task. The Suns did play like a team, we were spreading, passes were way out in front of leading players (both things did not happen last year). Our D is a lot better with Broughton and Murphy joining our list, this also takes the pressure off along with the emergence of Thompson as a gun Key defender.

Our fitness is also a lot better, this makes a difference too!

Another point to note, when Ablett was out last year our midfield worked the best it ever had, the young players realised that they could play and did not have to pass to Gazz every time they got the ball.

The Suns are more than Ablett, we are just very lucky that he is a part of us and I am really happy that I get to see him play week in and week out.

I think that by the end of the year everyone will agree that the Suns are legitimate and not just a one man team.

JOHNNO: Ablett’s talent will be wasted if the Suns can’t give support

Psst, I think Red Kev was replying to the fella above him who disagreed with you..

Ponting makes a statement that CA should listen to

Mate, stats are stats, watching what the player does on the field is the most important thing. Did you happen to get down to Southport Sharks on Saturday to watch the last practice game? I did..

Hunt was again very good, getting the ball off whilst busting through tackles, stiff arms with blokes flying to the ground and then getting the ball out to the right player.. On the back of both of these actions, we got goals, so many of his touches create something more.

I do not need to go on but i really need to ask a few questions of you.

Who do you support?
How many Gold Coast Suns have you watched live?
What is this vendetta against Hunt, Why?
Do you realise that Stats are not the most important thing in a game of footy, dreamteam and supercoach is not real life.

Happy Hunting.

Where does Karmichael Hunt fit?

Love the line “Nathan Lyon is about as threatening as Jeff the Wiggle”.

I do agree that the boys should be showing a bit more grit, Cowan, well his job is to blunt the attack, nothing wrong with soaking up balls. There should be a bunch of other blokes that can make runs too, this is where team comes into it.

Spineless Australia having a laugh

Too right Toa, Hunt is a very important part of the Suns makeup. He is a tough inside player who will be morphing into a tagger this year.

Have you been to any Suns games Macca? Mate, he does some awesome stuff each and every time he steps out on the park. Trust me, he is more than a publicity stunt.

Where does Karmichael Hunt fit?

Fun read, thanks.

Respecting routine reaps rewards

Agree, great stuff and good luck with the season!

Behind the scenes: a cyclist's week in Ballarat

RIP Tony!

Tony Greig - a great mate

Here is an article that I read a couple of weeks ago which may add to your article. http://www.cyclingtips.com.au/2012/12/attitudes-to-nutrition-weight-health-and-performance-amongst-the-pros/

Cyclists, calories, and chaos: the elusive pursuit of leanness

I don’t think that the rest hurt him. I do wonder why he was picked though, Johnson seems like a much better option at the moment.

Is Hilfenhaus the victim of the rotation system?

A great win, lets enjoy 3 out of 4 on this spring tour. Australia is making a habit of not giving in, this is a good thing.

I really believe that the lack of creativity comes from not having an exceptional half-back, once we get Genia back I am sure things will pick up just as they did in the first 20 minutes of the game against the Italians. Phipps just does not have it yet.

Berrick Barnes again played out of his skin, awesome effort by him.

I am not Dean’s greatest fan but man this complaining about the way we are playing the game even though we are winning is tiresome. You say it is boring, but that is Rugby!

Rugby is a game based on the contest of possession, if you want to watch a game with attacking flair watch AFL which I do myself. I love nothing better than a good old fashioned tussle, it is what I enjoyed most when I played (of course I am a forward.).

Australia get out of jail in Cardiff

I cannot even believe this is a story..

Barnes slams Contiki claims about tour

Spot on, great article.

Let's end the code wars

Pressure without the ball won that game for us, oh and the English prop who was subbed off after failing in the scrum consistently and giving away bone headed penalties. In fact I was devastated when he was replaced, all mow-hawk and chest beating with nothing to back it up 🙂

Our D was really really good and I thought our positional play was very good with ball in hand outside the 22 but lacked a little direction inside the 22. Ultimately it was this aggressive ball carrying that gave us the penalties with the Pom’s having nothing at the breakdown, the were scrambling all the time.

With our performances varying so much from week to week it is really hard have an honest opinion on where the Wallabies are at the moment. Of course we have injuries but to be honest we are playing in the same manner before the injuries.

Bring on Italy!

Wallabies can savour win after sneaking past England

I agree, well written.

No Lance in future, but don't forget the past

It was Cooper that sparked the team before he left the match injured. They were already playing that way so Barnes continued it.

It's time to throw caution to the wind, Robbie

Cannot wait for the season, I have a lot of hope for the Aussie team, really looking forward to seeing how we go with our great young bowlers and plenty of drama with the batting situation. Who will be called up and who will be dropped this season, this is the biggest question leading into the Ashes.

Aussies are in for a flat summer of cricket

Why is it always at the very end that the calls for we have nothing to loose, cut them loose are made in and around the Wallabies. We play like England 20 years ago for the whole season then at the last game everyone thinks it might be a good idea to take the game on and have a go.

Sorry, we should have had this mindset from the start, we cannot win games consistently against great teams waiting for them to make mistakes. We must push the boundaries at all times and stretch the other team.

The Bronze medal game in last years world cup is a great example of what I have said above, was it that Deans wanted the team to play like that or was it that Quade Cooper decided he did not want to play 10 man one pass per phase rugby.

This attitude amazes me.

If we do win because we chance our arm I will be happy for the win but very upset that again we show what we can do when there is nothing on the line!

It's time to throw caution to the wind, Robbie
