“Bart gets to ride up front today because he’s a good guy at sports” - fan of anything and everything there is to do with sports. Main loves are the NBA, NFL, NRL and of course Rugby. From New Zealand so have a tall poppy perspective on everything and a bit of an underdog complex as well. Trying to provide a mix of humour and insight in everything I do.

Cheers Jeznez, it’s a curse being a warriors fan! But agreed, too many teams turn it on after they’ve taken a beating. Hard to change the culture if it’s always been a losing one!
I’m not crying, you’re crying: The misery of being a New Zealand Warriors fan
Yea can’t agree with the people blaming it on race. The over reliance on NZ players definitely covers it however! Grades here are definitely not as strong as over in Aus so the NZ players coming through aren’t going against the best young talent. Big step up when you get to the NRL!

That’s a real problem we have though, when just finals is good enough, they’ll never be as good as they should be! Premierships or bust should be the mentality. But agreed, I’d take top 8 haha

Love the analogy John. Very similar to the EPL, currently the Storm, Panthers, Roosters, Rabbitohs would be the likes of the Man City’s and Liverpool’s etc. Warriors definitely more of a Crystal Palace. Capable of sparkling football but no ambitions of anything higher than mid table!

But but but how good would it be to bet them large all the way to the GF!! God I am tortured…
I’m not crying, you’re crying: The misery of being a New Zealand Warriors fan
I’ve learned a hard lesson every year. Never back to Warriors. Yet I do, every year. Manly was the last straw…. until next week!

You ll take NSW at the moment surely! But yea looking a bit dire otherwise there Tony 🙂

Always seem to be the case, be interesting to see if RTS provides any insight when he moves to the Blues!

Wouldn’t change the way I feel but I guess those score lines would be more favourable looking back 🙂

Interesting thought. I think the warriors have always had that second best mentally when competing against the All Blacks. Kiwis always expect the All Blacks to win, whereas if the warriors win we are excited but don’t care as much! It’s also a day of mourning if the All Blacks lose compared to some light hearted chuckling when the Warriors do. A mindset change does need to happen, especially being happy with 8th place. Finals football is great but finishing 8th isn’t something to be lauded for. We should be looking to finish 1st or nothing else, that’s what the top teams do.

Gotta love the will they won’t they drama they bring to our lives. Nothing like a bit of treat them mean keep them keen!

Maybe by the time I’m 60 we will be challenging for a premiership. Might have to try have 13 sons and only teach them rugby league for their whole existence!

Cheers! Agreed that will be another nail biter which we will probably lose. Always hard to look so good but then never deliver. You’d fire a postman if they were that bad at delivering that’s for sure!
I’m not crying, you’re crying: The misery of being a New Zealand Warriors fan
Agreed Geoff, every year it’s the same. Promise so much and deliver so little.
They do deserve praise for last year and this one and they bring so much to the comp, it’s just a shame they can’t be more consistent rather than consistently disappointing!

Cheers Tony. It is a cruel beast being a Warriors fan, I’m sure you can feel my pain being a Dragons fan. I’d love a help line! They’d be flooded with calls almost every week!

I might be in my grave before both things happen!

As evidenced for the ABs, Jordie should never be on the wing.

Agreed Old Possum its a big conundrum, purely for entertainment on the court I don’t know if there is anyone better at the moment. He has the all of the talent in the world and when hes on, it is must see TV!
Men's tennis is dying - there's one man who must save the game
Not the case in NZ as a teacher I can report. Our kids bloody love getting out on the sports field!
Advance Australia unfair: The most dominant Test team of all time
No worries Ace. Was a great team to covertly support as a kiwi living in Aussie. Just dripping with classy batsmen and skill full bowlers. A joy to watch
Advance Australia unfair: The most dominant Test team of all time
Cheers DP. Going well so far! Hope it can continue but been burned too many times!!

My NRL dream team
Just looked Rowdy/ they lost in June 2005 and then again in 2009 both in England. This run was in between. Not ideal bookends I might add haha
Advance Australia unfair: The most dominant Test team of all time
Bit before my time unfortunately Rowdy. But no not 2 ashes in this time frame as they went 21 games undefeated. Believe that was before and after the 2005-2008 run?
Also, would have loved to see have seen those Windies teams with their pace attack!
Advance Australia unfair: The most dominant Test team of all time
Always a tough decision haha. Sometimes the stick is preferable.
