Love Steve Smith and Nathan Lyon. Israel Falou and Quade Cooper in Rugby. Sieze the moment. Most memorable match would be Reds win over Crusaders in Super Rugby Final in 2011.

It could be an interesting prospect for Australia. For next years ashes series & WC, but also 5-7 years down the track and beyond.
But imagine the Aussie test team playing an Ashes series in England this time in 6 years. It will be the 15th June, 2020. The Aus line-up will look; 1.Warner (vc) 2.Carters 3.Burns 4.Smith (c) 5.Maxwell 6.??? 7.Whiteman (wk) 8.Pattinson 9.Lyon/O’keefe 10.Behrendorf 11.Cummins (his body might hold up at the age of 26?). Then have extras waiting still like; Faulkner, Hughes, Head, Lynn, M Marsh, Nick Stevens (hopefully), Silk, Starc, Hazlewood, Sayers, Richardson, Cutting, McDermott, Coulter-Nile, Wade, Boyce, Agar, Steketee, Rainbird, Bancroft, Bosisto, Patterson, J Peirson (wk), Turner, Sandhu, Paris etc. The list goes on. It is exciting!!!

The future looks bright for Australian cricket: Take 2

Maybe; Milford, Boyd, Chambers, Inglis, Tate, Hodges, Thurston, Scott, Smith (c), Myles, Gillett, Thaiday, Parker – Hunt, Guerra, Papalli, Te’o.

Queensland Maroons team for 2014 State of Origin Game 2: Expert reaction

Apart from Warner, don’t mean to brag – seriously, the rest of this XI is on the money. Bailey was the worst selection of the 21st century (only Dan Cullen, Bryce McGain, Xavier Doherty (& reselection) & Michael Beer’s selections come close), Johnson was selected and absolutely destroyed and humiliated the poms, Steve O’keefe took 40 wickets in the Shield (whilst outshining Lyon in a couple games), Smith is our next leader, Hughes had the summer no one has had since 2004, Hazlewood took 22 wickets including 6/50 in the only innings in the final, Peter Siddle has beern dropped, Shaun Marsh was not only 12th man, but made the team in RSA (aswell as a ton). So, and I am glad it happened, Warner is the only one who has changed my mind and scored runs at will.

Australia's first Ashes Test XI, based on form

Team could be; 1.Sio, 2. Moore, 3. Slipper, 4. Fardy, 5. Horwill, 6. Higginbotham (c), 7. Hooper, 8. Palu, 9.Genia (vc), 10. Foley, 11. Cummins, 12. Toomua, 13. Ashley-Cooper, 14. Horne, 15. Folau.

Bench: Charles, Alexander, Kepu, Jones/Skelton, Hodgson, White, Beale, Kirundrani.

Ewen McKenzie has options at his disposal for French tussle

WTF is Horwill not being picked in every Aussie Team. Horwill should be picked well before Simmons, Fardy, Skelton etc. He is the man in the lineouts and runs the ball very strongly. He has to be starting no.5

Ewen McKenzie has options at his disposal for French tussle

Yeah, Cameron Boyce could be worth taking, but he man in form (probably in better form than Lyon) is Stephen O’keefe. He took 41 wickets for the season (leading wicket taker) at an average of 20.43. He needs to be on the Pakistan tour. Take Glenn Maxwell as well, as an allrounder. Bat him at three? Maybe

Who is Australia's next Test spinner?

Pick Milford on the wing over Boyd anyday. We talk about a succession plan to keep winning and Milford will be part of the future at fullback or five-eight, so pick him now while he is fast and in form. He can score tries and he is a freak, so pick him over Boyd and the team is perfect (except for Thaiday’s injury)

State of Origin team predictions - NSW

Great to see Maxwell showing his great potential for even test cricket. Lynn will also be star.

Mumbai left wondering by Maxwell, Lynn joins the IPL party

Probs be;
Warner Rogers (Ajmal will get him more times than Swann) Marsh Clarke Smith Watson
Thats 5 batsmen and 1 all-rounder,
Johnson Harris Pattinson Siddle Faulkner
4 seamers and Faulkner
The rest will be;
Lyon Maxwell Haddin O’keefe

My Aussie Test squad for Pakistan tour

Maybe could have been Trevor Bayliss appointed, he is Australian.

Have England made the right choice or missed a trick?

And then after he gets picked for Pakistan and does way better than Lyon, he will be our no.1 spinner and play in next summers home series vs India and carve tham up and then he’ll get picked for the WC and so on. I really do wish…

O'Keefe must make Pakistan tour

The team for Pakistan should look;
1. Warner
2. Rogers
3. Doolan
4. Clarke
5. Smith
6. Watson
7. Haddin
8. Johnson
9. O’KEEFE
10. Pattinson
11. Lyon

O'Keefe must make Pakistan tour

no Bailey

O'Keefe must make Pakistan tour

Yes have a docter on standby to annalyse and determine wether a sub is needed, but once you officially sub someone (only bowlers, for bowler) that is final, no switching back or anything. The sub is the new player in the team.

Australia vs South Africa: wrap from Newlands day 2

Simpson, Hayden, Ponting, G Chappell, S Waugh, Border, Gilchrist (wk), Warne, Lillee, Thompson, McGrath 12: M Waugh or K Miller or I Chappell

Australia's greatest post-war Test team

Thats a bit harsh. I am Queenslander as well and I don’t even think Lynn should be in the test side YET. Burns is probably a lot closer, but Smith and Warner are both pretty good batsmen.

Test cricket's greatest unfulfilled talents

White
Finch
Watson
Bailey (c)/Lynn
Smith
Maxwell
Dunk (wk)
Faulkner
O’keefe/Hogg/Boyce/Muirhead
Laughlin
Bird
Also- Lynn/Bailey, Starc, Warner, Cummins.

Australia's case for the T20 World Cup (part 2)

Extend the squad to 16 to add Steve O’keefe to the squad.

Spin to be the difference in South Africa

Possibly swap Cutting for S Marsh or M Marsh

Australia's case for the T20 World Cup (part 1)

First XI and Squad for Bangladesh; Aaron Finch, Cameron White (vc), Tim Paine (wk), Chris Lynn, Steve Smith (c), Glenn Maxwell, Ben Cutting (does not bowl), James Faulkner, Steve O’keefe, Cameron Boyce, Jackson Bird. Also- Dan Christian, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Cameron Gannon.

Australia's case for the T20 World Cup (part 1)

Maybe Travis Head, Joe Burns or Cameron Bancroft. These 3 are Aus’s future.

It's time we all forgot about Phil Hughes

Take the main three; Johnson, Siddle and Harris. The back up’s for these two in my mind, for a 16-18 man squad, would be Nathan Coulter-Nile, Trent Copeland and Jackson Bird. In SA you don’t need the second spinner, (but if they did- take O’keefe- he is having another good Shield season without Lyon at NSW.), so you can take an extra quick and that would be Copeland. He can hold a bat, but most importantly he bowls cutters and swings the ball. He may be (very) slow, but in SA conditions he could be potent. It was tough debuting in Sri-Lanka where there is no help. Bring back Copeland, as a back-up!

Young Aussie quicks on the comeback trail

2015 Ashes; 1.Warner 2.Maddinson 3.Hughes 4.Clarke (c) 5.Smith (vc) 6.Henriques 7.C Bancroft (wk) 8.Pattinson 9.Siddle 10.Cummins 11.Lyon. Silk, Khawaja, Lynn, Carters, Starc, Sayers etc.

2016-17 Ashes; 1.Warner (vc) 2.Silk 3.Maddinson 4.Hughes 5.Smith (c) 6.Henriques 7.Bancroft (wk) 8.Pattinson 9.Coulter-Nile 10.Boyce 11.Cummins. ???

Predicting the 2015 Ashes sides

Now that he is retired, Australia should hire him as our spin coach for Nathan Lyon and co. I heard Lyon on his reaction to Swann’s retirement and he said he ‘looks up to Swann as a spinner’. That sounds good for us./

No Swann song for Swannie
