Was initially confused by the Hawks taking Will Day with their 1st rounder but expect he is longer term earmarked to move to a wing as we already look covered from runner half backs while Scully, Smith and Henderson are all north of 30.

Hopefully we can grab Finn Magginnes tonight and another gun.

2019 AFL Draft Day 1 wrap: Blues make news again with live trades

I like Faygun but can’t subscribe to that proposition just yet

The AFL's coach of the decade: Clarkson vs Hardwick

Parfitt or Rohan before Breust?

bahahahhah 😂

Joining forces: What a Geelong-Hawthorn merge would look like

hmmm…Richmond could have grabbed both of them if they wanted them but decided Deledio and Tambling were better choices.

So your point is what exactly?

The AFL's coach of the decade: Clarkson vs Hardwick

….to which the answer would be anything but definitive.

The AFL's coach of the decade: Clarkson vs Hardwick

Great list, Marnie.

I’ll plumb for the Hawks winning against the odds in R23 to really mix things up for the finals.

The games and moments that defined the 2019 AFL season

happy to watch both and continue to play and follow football (Italy, Leeds and Inter) but it’s the poisonous bully boy posting that keeps me off this bit of the Roar.

enjoy having it to yourselves! 👍

Fun factor back in A-League opening rounds

haha. So a simple observation warrants a code-based pile on?

FYI I might usually only post on the Roar’s AFL site but I’ve never played a game but I have played, coached and watched ‘football’ for some 45 years now so I reckon I’m commenting from an informed perspective.

Anyone who thought the Jets/Reds game was decent from a technical view cannot be serious.

Having said that, I’m enjoying what I’ve seen from WU so far so that’s a tick.

Have a good day

Fun factor back in A-League opening rounds

Look, it’s a small sample size based on the FTA games, I’ve caught this season but this week’s Newcastle v Adelaide match reinforced my view that the technical quality is pretty poor which is in marked contrast to the quality of football in the ‘Del Piero era’.

Fun factor back in A-League opening rounds

Clarko v Ratten.

No contest, yeah?

AFL releases 2020 pre-season fixtures

I always appreciate the work that must go into these metric-dense articles (as math is not my go) but surely this another severe case of ‘Geelong relevance deprivation syndrome’?

Geelong is officially the best team of the decade

well said, Don 👍

Three big winners from the trade period

Eagles, Dogs and Cats in that order.

The Saints lost a fair bit as well as gained a fair bit – incremental results will follow.

Alex Keath mentioned in the same breath as Brian Lake – lol

Three big winners from the trade period

not beyond the realms of possibility….

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

yep, begrudging rating for sure – I though Josh would have hidden his bias a bit more carefully. 😛

BTW Bonar is a cheap get for sure and could also pay off in spades but North look a bit light down back to me without Thompson who was a total champ.

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

like “will Jack Martin definitely be on Carlton’s list in 2020?”

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

so the Shiel Deal hasn’t ended up so sweet after all?

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

If Rance’s return is a factor for contending, I think you forgot to factor in that the Hawks are ‘recruiting’ a Brownlow medallist.

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

Agreed.

Not sure how North are graded at B by Josh when they missed getting a KPD to replace Thompson and pick up a decent but somewhat unproven and superfluous mid in Bonar.

The Hawks on the other hand shore up both ends with KP talent (acknowledging a degree of risk with Patton) and get a C?

Huh?

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

yes, but it’s the guts where the Dons struggle.

It should have been their priority this trade period but no dice….

oh well, I’m happy with that 😂

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

Suns will def. be put their arm around Martin right now and promising him plenty.

IF they keep him, it’s almost as significant as the re-signing of Ben King.

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

there are some reports he’s prepared to play for 200k just to get out of Adelaide.

I don’t see him fitting the Dogs but he looks perfect at Brisbane IMHO

AFL trade news: Brad Hill, Paddy Ryder, Jonathon Patton, Sam Jacobs and more

Patton wanted to go to Hawthorn for the medical support and GWS wanted the salary cap relief.

Simples.

I’ve heard some conspiracy theory that Cameron is doing Clarkson a solid for giving him his start as a senior coach and the AFL should investigate the Scully and Patton trades.

Sounds like fear of a Brown and Gold planet 😂

AFL trade news: Brad Hill, Paddy Ryder, Jonathon Patton, Sam Jacobs and more

only if the Hawks rate him at pick 8 or 11.

I get the impression from Graham Wright’s recent comments that they’d like him on the list but don’t rate him as highly as pick 11.

Elliott staying at Pies – no surprise
