Could be an argument under tort law that the termination clause is implicitly unfair I guess, but Ratts probably wouldn’t risk taking the club/ AFL to court if he wants another gig in the industry.

Ruthless clash of opposites that sparked Ratten sacking, who is next man in: Burning questions after brutal move

Big Boy has left with a bit in the tank and will be sorely missed as he is a great leader and still Hawthorn’s best contested mark and straightest kick for goal in my book.

Two premierships franked an impressive career over 250 odd games.

Hawks bid farewell to two-time premiership-winner McEvoy

Right decision in light of this season’s performances and last week’s events. Don Pike, despite the stain of the crows camp, is worth another look I reckon.

Dons dump Truck: 'Uncompetitive' season sees Rutten sacked as Essendon coach

Terrific read, Daz.

Interesting times ahead. I wonder if Clarko might have a nibble at one or two of Hawthorn’s senior players?

'Strange rush': A Hawks fan's take on Clarkson going to North

Tim, I love that Clarko trolled Essendon on his way to Arden Street (like any quality Hawthorn person would 😛 ) but the Bombers mistake here is leaving it so late to chase him.

I have no problem with the Bombers’ ambition being inspired by their past but if they had been in Clarko’s ears mid-season it may have been seen as slightly messianic but at least in choosing Clarko it was also a break from resorting to favourite sons to fix their problems.

Watch them now turn to Hird or McVeigh.

Pinching Clarko wouldn't have fixed the problem breaking the Bombers

Hey DD, have you been celebrating Geelong’s minor premiership like Chris Scott believes it should?

Up there with “Mission accomplished” for mine.

AFL News: Goodwin slams 'pretty poor' Rutten saga, beloved Don in for last game, $1.5m umpiring revolution on the cards

I agree with Cam that culturally Clarko and the EFC could be an explosive mix but the club has GOT to reach out to him as a gesture of ambition at the very least because clearly Truck is not going to take Essendon back to the top.

Chaos at Essendon after two decades of systemic failure

Fair enough but plenty have a blind side to all things Essendon.

Chaos at Essendon after two decades of systemic failure

Why does St Kilda hate its fans so much?

Trolling them year after year

AFL Friday Footy Fix: Bravado and bluster can't hide another Saints season pissed down the drain

How many kids are in a hurry to move out these days? 😛

Buyer beware: Is Clarko really the best fit for the Roos?

Got to say the Saints went too early in extending Ratts. Will probably miss finals and the chance to get Clarko.

The only reason Clarko signs on at Arden St is his family wants to stay in Melbourne. Not sure he will though.

I also agree he stunk up his last few years at Hawthorn with his drafting/trading targets (Mitchell aside) and his game plan. I didn’t like how the end was handled but Kennett was right to end it early

Buyer beware: Is Clarko really the best fit for the Roos?

Hmm. A few months maybe.

Buyer beware: Is Clarko really the best fit for the Roos?

Looking like more training wheels will be needed unless they land a former failed senior coach like Leppa or Voss.

They should be sounding out Don Pyke even if he said no to the Pies.

Carlton isn't a club in crisis, they're actually making progress

Great read.

GOAT says it all for me.

Thanks for the memories, Clarko

If Fritsch gets off, Greene should too.

Danger slipped into it at least to a contributing degree.

Selwood’s bump was worse for mine.

Not backing down: Giants officially appeal Greene ban

Hate to say they’ve got a bit of the 2016 Dogs about them for sure.

‘Going to be one hell of a finish’: Hawks and Dockers win, plus making sense of a wild weekend in the AFL

Haha. Never in a million years.

Alastair Clarkson gives his reasons on why he won't be at Hawthorn next year

Yep. I understand the club is quietly lobbying the local municipal authorities to change the name.

Kennedy or Clarkson works for me.

Alastair Clarkson gives his reasons on why he won't be at Hawthorn next year

Poorly handled but probably best for all parties although Kennett should step down for this transition debacle including the payout hit to the bottom line.

Hopefully Mitchell can shoot the lights out and get the Hawks back into contention while Clarko finds an opportunity that fulfills him.

Either way there’ll be a statue of Clarkson at Dingley one day.

Alastair Clarkson gives his reasons on why he won't be at Hawthorn next year

Depends on whether Clarko wants to accept a deal at the end of 2021.

Clarkson leaving, but no new coach until 2023

Italy flat track bullies?

Clueless analysis.

The Roar's Euro 2020 expert tips and predictions: Quarter finals

Breust for Cognilio?

242 games, 432 goals, three flags: The trade target every club should want

I hope not, Shifty.

I’m driving up from Hobart with a North mate – would be an unbearable drive back if we lose 😔

North Melbourne aren't as bad as you think

Haha. We’ll see. 😁

Showing Ben Brown the exit looks more ridiculous by the week.

North Melbourne aren't as bad as you think

I don’t hate it but his defensive mindset is pretty sketchy even in F50

Is it time to stick a fork in the Hawks?
