I like handscombe over head, handscombe has alot more test runs to go by and must be selected ahead of head.

Lock it in, Uzzie: Khawaja cements his spot in next month's Test team

I also agree that khawaja was always our best opener, he does it consistently for the one day side and T20 but the issue was that he was also our best number 3 and that position is a tough one to bed down. But now that warner is missing lets just put khawaja at open as he is a natural opener and averages over a 100 there.

Lock it in, Uzzie: Khawaja cements his spot in next month's Test team

Khawaja got 3 county centuries in a row in the 3 games he played, he also was the highest run scorer in the one day games for Aus A ahead of Head and Short and now he scores another century against india spinners in their backyard, safe to say khawaja is easily now our third best batsman after smith and warner.

Khawaja has averaged over 100 as a opener, he is our best opener with renshaw so lets just let him open and get shaun in at 3.

Handscombe will come good, khawaja was truly impressive, when spin did come on he played it with ease and we can finally put to bed that khawaja can play in asia if only given a chance. And yes i agree with ronan that we should open with khawaja.

How impressive was khawaja yesterday, 101 not out

Labuschagne, Swepson and Renshaw star for Australia A

I would get both Ahmad and khawaja into the one day and T20 side

Jason 99% of muslims living here are good citizens, terrorists come from all faiths so you can’t pick on the small minority to represent the majority. We are just lucky we have guys like khawaja representing their faith so well that young people can look up to blokes like him rather then the terrorists

You can't ban Muslims - who would bat three?

haha nice one, khawaja is a natural opener, but he is also a damn fine number 3

Love the line on usman giving banter to his queensland mates on being christian because they do the same to him, thats the aussie way and i love that example 🙂

And btw i consider finch and maxwell good players in T20, i just find it frustrating how there is one sided commentary on them by some editors vs blatant bias against others like khawaja or shaun marsh who get crucified unfairly. As for maxwell not shaking hands, not sure i am buying maxwells excuse here, it seemed fairly intentional from the footage i saw – but maxwell is a genuine cricketer, so maybe he gets a repreive on this one, but i wouldnt want to see it again

Glenn Maxwell's highlights don't paper over his failings

Good player, we want him fit and firing, shaun and usman will be key to our test batting in the coming year

Shaun Marsh hurt, injury scare for Aussies

Good read David, nice to see some balance views instead of the usual love for the roar favourites like finch and maxwell that we always see from ronan

No excuse for such behaviour

Australia lose the unloseable T20 final in Harare

Still a match we shouldn’t have lost, point being we lost a match we had in the bag

Never seen a author or professional writer love a player as much as Ronan loves Finch.

Aaron Finch surging into ODI captaincy contention

Also whats going on, when smith was captain maxi wasn’t bowling but head was, now with finch as skipper maxi is opening the balling and head didn’t bowl, clear favouritism by both captains here as both should be bowling

Australia lose the unloseable T20 final in Harare

Finch should not have given maxy two more overs and agar should have been give a chance by finch to redeem himself. I think ronan had a article ready to praise finch’s captaincy when pakistani were 3 down for very little but he would have had to discard that article lol.

Not the best start for him, but he is a good coach

Its been said again and again but where the heck was khawaja, aside from finch everyone struggled and we could have badly done with his batting at opener or 3. Given our start I was shocked to see Pakistan chasing down a big total which we hardly used to see before, no doubt this young team has got something in it which indicates that Pakistan has a very bright future ahead but it was bad defending by us

I’m sick and tired of some super fakhar fahking our Australian Cricket team! Haven’t we suffered enough, this is not acceptable that we got smashed in England and now here too, stop with the excuses guys. Lynn and Khawaja should have been above short and head and stones, we got that wrong. Put it simply we have played some third class cricket throughout this year. This is definitely a mental weakness with the current Australian team rather than lack of talent. These players don’t have the killer instinct.

Sensible comments George

Pakistan give Australia wake-up call

He is quick on the field but yeah agreed, anyone at this level can’t have a tummy hanging out :). Hopefully finch sorts this out soon though he reminds me of Hughes and Boonie who i both adored.

Pakistan give Australia wake-up call

Maxwell needs to do something soon, too much talent there not to deliver
