He’s off talking to Biscuit!

'Brain explosion': Wallaby stars sent off as Queensland left red-faced in Moana Pasifika shocker

I guess the worry is that the PE backers of this deal may largely be the backers of the current Rebels set up looking for concessions from RA and other creditors and that it’s all about reducing their exposure rather than genuinely reinvigorating the model. I’d be asking to see who was putting in ‘new money’ & on what terms before getting too excited.

PE backed consortium 'in final stages' to save Melbourne Rebels with $30m injection and link with A-League club

Hey Peter – on coaches what are your reflections following the Brumbies Reds match on Saturday?

Five things we learnt: Why Cheika could be the man to resurrect Tahs, Thor is the new Quade, value of sevens

Jimbo – the years must be impacting your memory – that second World Cup ((1999) was coached by Brumbies Coach Rod Macqueen & had 9 Brumbies in the squad – remember Gregan and Larkham?

'It was brutal': Clutch Lolesio kicks Brumbies to 'Test match intensity' win over Reds as Wright shines again

I’m not bagging him – I think Kiss is doing a great job with the Reds – however I also think Larkham & Foote aren’t bad coaches either!

'We’d like to see Taniela stay': RA 'absolutely' want Thor for Lions, have 'contingency plans' for Rebels crisis

Thanks for reminding me – Meredith is excellent – super quick and skillful

'We’d like to see Taniela stay': RA 'absolutely' want Thor for Lions, have 'contingency plans' for Rebels crisis

I’m not convinced Kiss is the messiah just yet – I guess we’ll all be in a better position to judge that after Saturday night.

'We’d like to see Taniela stay': RA 'absolutely' want Thor for Lions, have 'contingency plans' for Rebels crisis

We’ve actually got 2 Peter – Jack Debreczeni is our other and I suspect most Brumbies fans would rather him over Carter Gordon anyway.

I hope not – get Joe Schmidt or David Nucifora

Key hire that must happen BEFORE Wallabies can recruit new coach, why Brumbies are stalling on RA plan

I hope Valentini ‘continues to underwhelm’ just like last year Coker – wouldn’t swap him for any other Australian Super Rugby loose forward other than L.Reimer or T. Hooper – but we don’t have to because fortunately they play for the Brumbies too!!

Can’t wait to see how this comment holds up by seasons end!

ANALYSIS: Every Super Rugby team rated - and why Australia will make up ground on New Zealand

You are seriously just one big sad case aren’t you Biscuit. You continue to struggle to accept that by almost any measure the Brumbies have been Australia’s most successful regional rugby team for the past 20 years. Cheap shots at Laurie Fischer who has been a great servant of Rugby in this country do nothing but show how limited your thinking is about the game!!

Eddie Jones quits as Wallabies coach - 'Sometimes you have to eat s--t for others to eat caviar'

My read of the match today was that it was England not SA that were intent on slowing the game down.

'Concede points there, they're done': Moment England missed to bury Springboks as ghosts of 2019 return

Agree that there were times it was hard to know what O’Keefe was going to call (anyway we now have Barnes for the final so all is good) but disagree about what it was like to watch. I thought it was an immense battle and for 60mins the English forwards and the supporting kick and chase tactics prevailed. Replacement front rows turned the game. Infinitely better game to watch that yesterdays walkover by the ABs.

Seriously Biscuit – if Eddie stays not sure there will be many left to walk away with you! As for Larkham best thing he can do right now is focus on the Brumbies and try and ‘repair’ some of the damage EJ & co have done to Australian Rugby.

The Wrap: With Wallabies done and dusted in 15 miserable days, who do we trust to take Australian rugby forward?

Oh Sheek – the horse has bolted – if high school principles don’t do this or that rugby will become a boutique sport – seriously mate it already is. I’m a public school boy and all I can say is thank goodness we have private school principles keeping the game alive because it’s on life support everywhere else! I’m all for addressing Rugby’s challenges in Australia but I’d be more inclined to target ARU governance and the game at the provincial level and up as our schoolboys and under 20’s seem to be doing just fine!

The Wrap: With Wallabies done and dusted in 15 miserable days, who do we trust to take Australian rugby forward?

And oh how the same hated the rolling maul! So sad watching the Wallabies marched down the field by Wales rolling maul this morning!

The Wrap: With Wallabies done and dusted in 15 miserable days, who do we trust to take Australian rugby forward?

Thank you Geoff for being relatively gentle with us all as we grieve for what is lost. Knowing you may lose is one thing but the pain and emptiness of actual loss is far worse. Before we had hope and now – nothing.

Some of us will now resort to anger, others will point out they ‘told us so’, others will walk away and never return but none of that can change the deep ache many of us are feeling today.

Maybe it’s just as well Rugby is now a low profile sport in Australia – people who see us crying will just think we’ve lost someone close to us – little do they know!

He doesn’t hold back!

The horror five minutes that put Wallabies' World Cup on life support as Eddie's huge 10 call falls flat

It sure looked like that! None of the character of the performances against Ireland, France and Wales on last years tour. Mind you – so many key players not selected from that squad too!

The horror five minutes that put Wallabies' World Cup on life support as Eddie's huge 10 call falls flat

As many other are pointing out there is no ‘quick fix’ route available to the Wallabies or Australian Rugby – we can only hope and pray that we somehow find a way to roll Wales and have other results go our way. Sacking Rennie and throwing away what he was building for a ‘snatch and grab’ sales pitch will surely be McLennan’s legacy. And amongst all the options being canvassed for moving forward perhaps we need to accept our place in modern day Australia behind the major football codes and select our national team from wherever in the world our best players are – as Fiji have surely proven with their mix of local Drua and French Top 14 personnel.

Love the ‘jersey looks it good’ Loosey – classic!

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

Strategist – at the risk of provoking you by not dropping enough ‘Brumbies’ in the forwards I’d drop both Hoopers (one out injured anyway), move AAA to bench and start Topau, start Arnold with Skelton, move Frost to 6, start Samu at 7 and add McReight to the bench along with on Holloway & Faesller. In the backs I’d drop White and start Tate and bring Lonergan into the bench. Start Gordon with Kerevi and Focketi to the bench, drop Vunivalu and start Kelleway an bring Toole onto the bench. Korrebeti and Weight to start. I know it’s probably still too many Brumbies for you but it’s a start.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

He’s never going to sprint Revok but I thought he played ok – tackled and cleaned out well and when he carried drew defenders. Wasn’t a great night for the Wallabies but I’d still pick him to start next week – with Arnold in second row and Frost @ 6. For what it’s worth I’d start Samu instead of Michael Hooper to boot.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

Cannot emphasise enough your point – we must take points when possible. I’m a Brumbies supporter and I love a good rolling maul but tonight I hope if we get a penalty in the Boks half we just point to the sticks!
