Yeah i was going to say heaps of pretty average guys have killed it over there, such as Sean Maitland, Willi Heinz, Thomas Waldron. Whilst the big dogs have flopped. I find it quite intriguing.

Happens in cricket too, A batler like Jeetan Patel averages 47 with that ball and bats at 10, can’t get NZC contract. Goes over to England for domestic cricket and plays so well that he wins the wisdom cricketer of the year award.

How Dave Rennie’s Wallabies moved on from Cheika-ball at the Cake Tin

Rieko Ioane out for Anton Lienert-Brown (I don’t care that he didn’t ground that ball, but defensively he was often well out position, he’s just not ready to be an international centre)

Dmac out for Beauden Barrett
(Dmac was fine, but BB needs to be there)

Bridge out for Reece
(Bridge is good and has all the skills, but we need 1 out and out strike winger on the field)

Tyrel Lomax out for Nepo Laulala
(Was the plan anyways until NL pulled out)

I’d like to see Will Jordan in for Caleb Clarke, on the basis that WJ is a better player, however Clarke was very good off the bench last week, so can’t really do that.

What changes should the All Blacks and Wallabies make for Bledisloe 2?

Yeah it’s interesting. This is what the Sanzaar chairman had to say about it (a kiwi):

“I’m the chairman of Sanzaar and there’s not been a Sanzaar board meeting since the 4th of August,” Impey said.

“The notes that have been published are not board minutes, and they’ve got a fundamental error in it as far as we’re concerned, which says the six-week draw was agreed by all. I can tell you that it wasn’t – we know that, and Rugby Australia and Sanzaar know that.

“The notes also quite clearly refer to an impasse and there are many emails that prove this… our position has never changed.”

Who knows what the truth is. There is so much he said she said. What I do like is that it’s all just coming from the administrators, whilst the coaches and players on both sides are pretty keen to get on with it. Media of course blowing it up, with suggesting things like boycotts (which is completely unfounded).

Leaked document adds further tension to Australia-NZ rugby row

Warriors should win Easily this week, it an was impressive effort against the broncos last week, showed a lot of potential.

So I’ll drawdown on my mortgage and take it down to TAB and sick it all on Gold Coast 13+

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 9

JP is out with illness
Rodda is being rested again.

I presume they mean still not match fit from the injury.

Super Rugby Round 7 teams: O'Connor back for Reds, Chiefs and 'Canes stock up for blockbuster

Chin up, reds will get it done.

Super Rugby Round 7 teams: O'Connor back for Reds, Chiefs and 'Canes stock up for blockbuster

Got no sympathy for him, even if there is an overreaction.

If in 2020 the decision matrix in your head outputs this kind of action, you deserve what is coming.

Marler cited for squirrel grip on Jones

Just can’t see our batsmen getting it done on Aussie pitches. Bowlers will front up though.

Kiwis' big chance to end 35-year drought in Australia

Ha, gotcha where we want you this time Ryan.

Job done by the openers seeing off the new ball, no issue if they throw their wickets away now.

All set set up nicely for our esteemed number 3 (Raval) to score one of his trade mark double tons.

New Zealand fight back at the SCG

Funny, people still don’t get that Wagner isn’t trying to intimidate anyone with his 130km short balls. It’s all about getting the top edge through variations of pace on a stacked leg side field, after being more patient than the batsmen.
The the less intimidated batsmen are the more they will go at it.

Aussies to return fire at Kiwi bouncers

Really, that’s might be my go. Casting from phone drives me crazy.

Foxtel versus rugby: The next battle

Wagner. Could well end up being our second greatest test bowler of all time, yet seemingly has never bowled a good delivery in his life.

I really don’t understand how he gets his wickets against good batsmen, but he keeps on getting them.

Wagner will use Bodyline tactics against Australia

Haha, I love his effort and his heart and he won’t give up. I just can’t see him bowling a single delivery that will trouble these Australian batsmen at home on their mundane tennis ball bounce pitches.

Ferguson- yip completely untested. But picking 3 medium paces in Australia has been well and truely tested by us (and other teams) over the last 20+ years. A dismal failure.

If we don’t take 1 express quick we’re on a hiding to nothing

Bring on the Black Caps

Couldn’t agree more about Watling. Perhaps the most underrated player in cricket, 4th highest on the all time list of wicket keeper 100’s and he always seems to get them when we really need them.

Concerned about De Grandhomme in day games on Australian pitches. Just can’t see his bowling being used at all and his batting found wanting.

Also concerned about Wagner, bowls medium pace short balls all day and I think you blokes will feast on that on your home pitches.

Ferguson has to play, you need that express pace on Australian pitches, even if it’s just 1 guy. I Can’t think of any test team with 3 x medium paces doing well in Australia….ever.

A day night game and nothing at the Gabba, a good set of fixtures for NZ.
6 batsmen who average 40+, all quicks average in the 20’s. Rarely going to have a better opportunity to challenge Australia in a test series.

Beats the dark days of the 33+ club of Martin, Tuffy, Myles, Oram.

Two players offer Kiwis an edge over Australia – neither are Kane Williamson

His only weapon other than full tosses. 135km Lolly pops on a Australian roads against that Aussie batting line up doesn’t end well for us.

But surely they won’t go with De Grandhomme, will be a complete passenger in Australia.

Bring on the Black Caps

Big concerns for me are Wagner and Colin De Grandhomme. Neither will be effective on Australian pitches.

Boult and southee will also be less effective on the dry roads.

Ferguson has to play, but I am concerned he won’t.

Bring on the Black Caps

lockie ferguson (If he plays, looks like he might not) will keep him in the high 90’s.

Can anything stop Steve Smith from averaging 100 in Tests this summer?

Would be huge if the wallabies can get Rennie, no coach has changed the game more.

He won 2 super rugby titles with a bang average chiefs team based on 2 principles that he built the whole team around

1. Never attack a set defensive line outside the opposite 22
2. 1st & 2nd phase counter attack is where you score the majority of your points.

The All Blacks then copied this blueprint for what would be their most dominant period of the professional era. Then other teams followed

Then teams started to counter the counter attack rugby, by playing the right wing as a second fullback to add more cover defence. We saw in NZ this with the likes of b Smith and Dagg playing on the wing.

All teams like the idea of counter attack rugby, but he was the guy who made it the primary focus, the guy who said to what practicing at training today? Same thing we practice everyday – counter attack rugby.

Would also make a good attacking/backs coach

Now Jamie Joseph as head coach, Rennie as the backs coach and Thorn as the forwards coach. And well well well, wallabies you might be onto something there.

VOTE: Who should be the next Wallabies coach?

Yeah me too. I was in the super rugby final as well, but that worked out.

Though the Irish attack is pretty toothless, whilst their defence is strong.

So maybe this is just the combo for this game only as he thinks it might crack the Irish defence.

The All Blacks' quarter-final line-up will balance stability and flair

Very surprised about no Crotty or Smith.

🙁

The All Blacks' quarter-final line-up will balance stability and flair

Nope we all wrong. Went with Goodhue and ALB

The All Blacks' quarter-final line-up will balance stability and flair

Crotty is the incumbent centre, it would be a huge call to drop him to the bench.

I’m presuming and hoping that he will be starting as he runs the defensive.

The All Blacks' quarter-final line-up will balance stability and flair

Agree.

Though he should have spent his whole career on the wing. He just didn’t have the skill set to play fullback.

Though even then he was far from the perfect winger as he didn’t have the pace to win a foot race.

How the loss of Israel Folau has improved the Wallabies backfield

Sorry but this article is factually incorrect.

Ref sees it as touched so calls 6 more.

Ref gets a call in his ear that it wasn’t touched, so screams 5 times that it is the final tackle.

It has since been confirmed that the final tackle call was correct. So the only error is the confusion from his initial call. Which wasn’t ‘indecisive’ – he’s just called it how he saw it and was overruled by someone in a better position to see it.

Some of the raiders players only see the initial call (which is fair) and a raiders player just takes the tackle. (After a couple throw no look passes over their head as they think it’s the 5th)

The turn over takes a long time as two different raiders player attempt to play the ball and there is a lot of chat from everyone. The raiders have time to set their defence line

Roosters then go 80+ metres in one set to win the game.

All the raiders lost from this was 1 attacking final tackle in an 80 minute game. Where they lost it was poor defence on the following set.

We have to be honest about refs
