I don’t know if you know football at all but when one player looks like retiring a good coach will look to replace them, Bobo will be replaced by Buhagiar, Wilkinson will be replaced by Ben Warland. A simple concept really.

The only time that Ono would ever be considered better than Ninkovic is if you look at who had a better career overall, if we’re talking about A-League only, Ono doesn’t touch the greats like Broich, Berisha, Castro and Ninkovic and no Del Piero isn’t on that list either because his best achievements were outside of the A-League.

6 Players under 21 and a former youth coach who knows the NPL and NYL teams very well making him more likely to trust those players with senior starts plus a raft of older players who physically won’t be able to feature full time.

The third, yes we are, Corica is clearly planning for the future as I imagine that number will drastically drop in the coming seasons as I can imagine Bobo, Wilkinson and Ninkovic will retire come seasons end, this is all about the long game.

6 Players under 21 actually and I did say I’m stretching the definition of youth for that list, but I think Corica has gone to great strides to make sure youth is included and it will only continue.

As mentioned in the article they join a large number of youth players, many of who I didn’t even list, I think the days of your claims of being a “Chequebook club who don’t play youth” Are drawing to a close.

Great point, we’re seeing the kids who were toddlers when the league started come through the ranks and play for the teams they grew up with, it’s a beautiful thing and it’s the lifeblood of any sport.
