No argument there Grem – I only originally suggested that for regulars to keep turning up they need an attachment to one of the teams on the park – in many cases it probably does grow over time – my g f was only there under sufferance at first but she loves WSW now (and me I hope!) Cheers mate

Damn! there goes my theory then. Funny thing is, however did you talk to so many expats? Did you ask my Grandfather who lives in Tewantin, Queensland who follows Parramatta Eels cos he once lived here and played in the juniors?

There are numerous sporting codes that represent my city or region. I do not feel in any way disposed to “have an attachment” to any of them – except Football and Hockey. Why? Football – Two of my best friends play in the lower divisions of an NPL club and several more friends and I go and watch then usually party on after. Hockey – My girlfriends sister plays. Subsequently g f and I go to her games. Hockey takes precedence over Football when she is playing. The day she stops playing will be the day I become “unattached” to Hockey. I will always be attached to WSW because my friends from high school took me to my first ever A League match which was at Bankwest Stadium and I loved it. However I mostly watch on TV cos im often elsewhere . But that was the catalyst that got me attached to WSW. Hope this helps.

People who turn up at matches on a regular basis need to have some form of attachment to one of the clubs on the park, simple as that. Up to the clubs I suppose.

There has been a lot of face burying in the turf and staying down lately with players flopping down after a feather touch. A pathetic blight on our sport. Why arn’t the actors penalised for bringing the game into disrespect.

Unfortunately in the minds of the masses there is an intractable belief in the old adage “Give a dog a bad name and it sticks to it”. It is not unreasonable to understand that the action by minorities keep feeding this impression. These unfortunate incidents are always going to crop up occasionally and sometimes seem to happen at the worst of times. These are not the sole domain of our sport but some would seem promote that assertion for whatever reason. All that can be done is to come down hard on troublemakers and keep the faith.

Mine was the same. I thought the match must have been deferred. Also i have a lot of problems with live streaming on Paramount with it crashing my tv at various intervals. I have a Samsung smart tv which I understand is “not strong enough” I have no problems with live streaming on STAN.
