It was all Ireland until that one mistake from Kearney. Nice work from the Wallabies backline to take advantage immediately and score. Shows they have what it takes to crack this defence, they would have scored another early on through Koroibete if not for an amazing tackle from Stockdale. Really impressive winger, Stockdale.
Ireland great in possession and in the air too (except for a couple of errors from Kearney), Wallabies dangerous with ball in hand but haven’t had much territory or possession at all. Enthralling contest.

What a match. The Wallabies have found a back row they can count on for years to come.
Curious performance from the All Blacks, I don’t know how much of a difference Golden Balls Barrett would have made, but they were very inaccurate today. Too many penalties. That’s also perhaps a nod to the Wallaby defence, I think they had a very low missed tackle count compared to the All Blacks.
Congratulations to the Wallabies, boy did they and their fans ever need a result like this. Great to see.

The lineout after the hooter rule should be changed to something like allowing only one lineout from a penalty after the hooter. Yes it was a great half but this ending became a little farcical.

The grounding was 50-50 there but Barrett also had a hand on Kriel in the in-goal. Could have been pulled up for obstructing play. But I guess Kriel had lost the ball already. Tough luck for the Springboks.

Good match so far. All Blacks slightly sloppy, Bokke very spirited. But even then the All Blacks should have scored two tries already. Only a matter of time until the dam bursts.

Welcome back, top notch analysis as always. It’s astonishing just how much improvement the Wallabies need to make, and likewise how poor Argentina are that they just could not take advantage of the chances they had.
