Would we see Hodge come into 10 and Beale remain at 12 rather than a reshuffle and probable change in Game Plan A?

The decisions Michael Chieka must make if the Wallabies are to succeed

I love that smile. Is it just me or does he remind you of an even smilier Brad Hogg?

Pakistan's smiling leggie Yasir Shah a record breaker, even at age 30

The optimist in me says it’s Foley’s last chance to impress or be dropped from the Spring Tour but I think his glass has been half full too many times. At least we don’t have to critique the Cooper-Foley 10/12 combination this week…

New-look Wallabies backline to take on the All Blacks

The non-striker should shove their bat under the front foot of the bowler thus ensuring no part of the bowlers foot (or shoe as those cheaters usually wear) makes contact with the ground behind the crease. Consistent supply of front foot no-balls. That might even help Australia to win!

The Liebke Ratings: World T20 Round 1

I’m not sure you could rate their quality using the traditional numbering system. Perhaps a system based on comparison to vaious national embarrassments would work better?

The Liebke Ratings: First Test Australia vs New Zealand

I haven’t seen the whole AB v Boks game but if blood spilled is any indication of brutality the the Pumas v Wallabies would take some beating. It seemed like every second bloke on both sides was dripping the red stuff from somewhere.

Five talking points from the Wallabies' win over Argentina

My youngest is a month old and will be donning the Gold too. We’re currently in a finely tuned training schedule so he wakes up for a feed about 5 minutes before kickoff for each game. C’mon Wallabies! Let’s do this!

Tell them Straya’s coming – and hell’s coming with us!

Let’s try that again.

We’ll assume he was providing said tequila.

Brilliant! Made coming to work today little more bearable.

I am concerned no mention has been made about the misuse of hairstyles in the centres though. Toomua’s is a fullback style at least, if not wing.

New rules proposed for World Cup

I won’t weigh in as far a selections go having not seen much of the competition this year but how good would it be to see a team like this take on either the competition winners or the next best team outside of the finals or even a ‘best of the rest’ team picked from the teams that didn’t make the finals (and picked on a similar basis and the extra 6 coming from either the bottom 6 or a lottery). Purely hypothetical but man would it be good to watch.

A slightly different - and controversial - Super Rugby best XV

That’s great news Lano. I shall aspire to knowing nothing about Rugby like the greatest of gurus. So far so good. Next step, more regular commenting based on less knowledge and more irrationality. May I call you Sensei Lano?

PeterK, I admire your impartiality, I’ve done most of my rugby time with small town clubs and impartiality was in short supply. Generally reactions to ‘those pesky refs’ calls are based on whether they go for your team or against them rather than facts. I thought the card could have gone either way and would have opted for no card had I been reffing. But that might have been self preservation given the very vocal and passionate brumbies fans around me. Probably lucky I’m not a ref…

The Wrap: Super Rugby highs and lows

I initially disagreed with the YC for Mogg. I was sitting pretty much in line with the play a dozen rows back (which basically qualifies me as guru in the matter) and I thought that he’d tried to catch it but then remembered he’s not a ninja and ended up with only a finger tip hitting the ball instead of catching it and being pummelled by the advancing red and black wall. More of a dumb attempt at an intercept than an intentional knock on. Obviously the ref thought otherwise and, being a ref, was completely right or wrong depending on which team you were supporting.
