I’d rather watch Josh Ioane than Carter Gordon at the chiefs.

Steve Hansen claims 'NRL's a better game to watch' than 'predictable' Super Rugby, backs RA plans to 'jazz it up'

Are Australian commentators going to canvas every opinionated kiwi who has literally no input into the strategic direction of rugby in NZ as if they are important. Any chance you could get a comment by someone who actually is relevant or failing that get Quade’s granny to share her perspective?

Steve Hansen claims 'NRL's a better game to watch' than 'predictable' Super Rugby, backs RA plans to 'jazz it up'

What’s he like… I k ow young so hard to see where he ends up.. but what is your read on what you have seen and know?

'Shattered': Lynagh ruled out of Junior Wallabies' world championships as young gun reveals Thorn legacy

Do you think… Sam Cane, Richie McCaw, Ardie all gwt through their tackles and are not Tom Hooper size or lineout weapons

SRP semi-final talking points: Eddie's most vexing debate could be settled if cowbells are silenced by Brumbies

Thats the point they cant lose.. if they end up with a loss its the refs fault and since they can’t blame a kiwi ref and bias and cheating, blame the aussie ref for being biased and anti their team.. and if they win.. it should have been by more but were held back by dodgy refs.. thats all fine, if people need to believe that.

What I don’t understand in all this rhetoric, is whether people believe Australian rugby players all play to the letter of the rules at all times except for those moments they are pinged and half of those are unfair. So Australians don’t play to the boundaries, they are a fair and square bunch and victims of their own discipline.

Yet so many Australians, ex players, commentators etc. barely have any idea what the rules actually are and how they are applied.

And then you have the conspiracy theories which must be true because so many Australians posting here believe it and saying something is true makes it fact, because actually backing it up is hard and because nobody can be bothered explaining why this makes no sense is too time consuming and energy sapping when tbe other party doesn’t want to listen… makes it true. Lets say I say you lack the ability to think clearly and lie continuously… that is fact unless you prove its not true.. this is the nature of blog sites.

So why argue it.. of course it has no foundation in reality, but you can’t argue logic against rhetoric when the person spouting the rhetoric just ignores logic and throws up more nonsense, which may or may not be in any way tied to the first lot of nonsense or they give a single isolated example and that amounts to an open ad shut case..

I think social media has a lot to answer for, but mostly for dumbing doen critical thi ki g and genuine debate allowing misinformation and rhetoric to be given the same hearing as real facts and solid logic

Most of that I agree with except, having to keep McReight and Wilson together. I don’t think they come as a pair or they need to. Also Valentini is proven at international level, there is stil a question mark over Wilson. Whatever role has been asked of Valentini he has delivered. The same cannot be said of Wilson.
I like Wilson and think he has enormous upside if he can strengthen his posterior chain. Kettles, squats, deadlifts, resistance work, plyo boxes etc. It is his atchilles heel. His coordination, work rate, size, siruational awareness, feel for the position, speed, reflexes, attitude etc. are awesome for a young big man and is what I find compelling. If he can build power through his legs and glutes… he could (will) be genuine world class. But right now he doesn’t have it and Valentini is a better option followed by Samu and that means a six is needed.
For a big man he isnt a lineout machine like say Kieran Read was for the ABs and again this comes down to power. But a young man with the ability to become a weapon.
Finally, I completely agree a few good games at SR shouldn’t be deserving on a call up. That is just a wing and a prayer type stuff which rarely works out.

SRP semi-final talking points: Eddie's most vexing debate could be settled if cowbells are silenced by Brumbies

I totally agree with all of that.
I just read Jims comment waa dismissing the experience Jack got playing in NZ and felt that he grew up independent of that experience. Yet Jack himself has expressed how much he gained, so was wondering how he saw his maturing independent of his experience since that was more important than anything he learned playing in NZ or at least that seems to be what is being implied. Jack also mentioned how different and how valuable the development programs were in NZ to what Australia had.. so I would think his time there was vitally important to his growth and wouldn’t dismiss it so lightly.

SRP semi-final talking points: Eddie's most vexing debate could be settled if cowbells are silenced by Brumbies

What is maturity? I always tied it to experience… where did he get experience which has seen him play with more maturity… or are you saying.. he just got older and his mind less flighty?
I think listening to him speak, that the time he spent in NZ ddefinitely had an impact… more so than getting a bit older.

😊 I think its funny.. so why not… no-one getting harmed or offended?

DMac at the Rebels and a team in Hawaii - draft and expansion fuel Hamish's grand vision for Super Rugby

I think you guys are cooked Tim. Too many key injuries in the forwards… still a strong forward pack with players like Srrange and Lio wille standing up.. but Blackadder and Whitelock still leave a bit of a hole.. the frustrating thing with Blackadder is whether he now misses out on the international season… but then another part wonders whether he is still developing physically and shoukdn’t be pushed.. but then he plays a very physical game in a physical position… the ABs need him, but need him for the longterm.

Cool.. I’m interested. I think I might have read it, but will go back and check it out. Thanks.

What has Nichol to do with anything. He is a nobody that McClennan is trying to promote as important..

That is why Rob Nichol likes it and its hilarious that he is being spoken of as someone important in this matter.

Same with his comments abput Rob Nichol who likes the sound of his own voice, but is neither a spokesperson or an influencer with respect to strategic direction in NZ. He may as well said he spoke to Quade’s granny and getting her feelings on the matter

Dod I see it Jez? Do you lnow what article ypu posted it against?

DMac at the Rebels and a team in Hawaii - draft and expansion fuel Hamish's grand vision for Super Rugby

Why? I think its better just to leave it to the conspirary theorists to come up with their own ideas about how the kiwis are cheating the Australian sides and how the Aussies are victims. I mean its better than them having to face facts…

To be honest, it should be a really good game. I am hoping the Chiefs bounce back from last week and the home ground advantage gets them over the line.

Sorry Ken. I didn’t know I was going to spark this kind of thing. I gave Muzzo more credit for being able to respond like a human being.

You are a nasty little man aren’t you Muzzo… Are you really so insecure and unstable that you need to resort to this sort of thing. No need to answer, the answer is obvious.

Complete SRP semifinal teams: Larkham makes No.10 call, Corey back for Brumbies, Chiefs make four changes

Yeah, but they don’t have depth there, so compared to what they have, yes he does offer something tangible. Remembering he is also currently widely regarded as Australia’s best half-back, but you know that.

Super Rugby Report card and 2024 predictions: How the Aussie teams fared and what the future holds

Yeah the same. Shows the lack of depth that the Wallabies have to contend with in some positions.

Where do you think he would rank among all the international halfbacks e.g. do you think he would make the Fijian side or Italy or Tonga… teams ranked well outside the top 10. I think Phipps would likely have been outside the top 50 half backs when you think that Australia had better in Genia when he was fit, NZ would have 3-4 as would most teams in the top ten.

So just because he got caps for the Wallabies doesn’t make him a decent half-back. In my opinion he wasn’t very good at all.

Firstly, you are not wrong. Plenty of ignorance to go around on all things.
But equally you know sometimes grievances aren’t real… they are just things we make up in our own heads… i know not for you, because everything ypu think and believe is real and true 😊
I’d add to that plenty from down South own their own eye patches… some Crusaders fans even proudly wear them.

Wow, always so angry and quick with the personal attack, even when someone makes a bit of a lighthearted comment. I think it might be you who has a problem and needs medical attention. And if you are unable to observe that, then that is your problem.

Again with predicting what Razor will do 😊
Our midfield is a weakness to be sure, but replacing Reiko with Ennor wouldn’t turn it into a strength imo.. it would just become weaker in my view and I predict that is the way Razor will see it (my prediction and attempt at reading his mind) until a complete centre turns up. They don’t grow on trees and in the meantime Reiko will continue to hold the spot much like Umaga did.
I am not a Blues fan, just dont believe that if it comes from the South Island it is automatically better. That would be being blinkered
