And just like lawyers who defend kiddie fiddlers, you looking to make some coin out of the disgraceful situation. Bloody hell mate it’s a storm in a tea cup. Stick to union. It needs more lawyers and bankers with their snouts in the ever shrinking trough.

Is Gallen brave or just plain stupid?

I went to a game at Sunnycorp. It was a sea of couch potatoes in maroon jerseys all frothing at the mouth.

Union banned rucking and has been losing fans and money ever since. The only people left in Union are suit wearing stooges.

And I heard that you got arrested for leaving your used syringes around kiddies playgrounds.

Classic Courier Mail Codswallop.
The maroon necks reaction to a bit of biffo when they’re on the receiving end is making Wednesday night all the more sweeter.
Good on ya Gallen. Never give a sucker an even break.

Old finger in all the pies Gus Gould isn’t very popular on the NSW side either. Every year he announces to the world ‘the Queenslanders are walking’, tired or spent and right on cue the Maroon necks lift their game. That’s when I leave the room the telly is in and start sulking.

Five niggling, irritating NSW Blues State of Origin villains

You left out the greatest Qld villain of all – Barry Gomersall.

Does anyone have any footage of Matt King punching portholes into Justin Hodges head?

Five blood-boiling QLD Maroons State of Origin villains

That was some good reading.

Now what has your mother told you about drinking too much red cordial?

Is Daley feeling the pressure already?

It’s SNAFU on NSW side of the border. We’re not looking at 8 nil. We’re looking at 10 nil.

John Sutton forced to cop it tweet

Maybe racism is a sickness as well. Especially if it takes personal vigilance to limit it. And maybe crappy sports writing is also a sickness.

Vilification in sports: where does it end?

If your facts are right then how can you say George Piggins poorly managed Souths?

Are South Sydney everyone's second favourite team?

ARU boss calls for Wallaby pay cuts

In Rod McQueens book he writes about how if you leave it up to a committee to choose a colour, the only one that they will ever come up with is grey.
The game that is still called Rugby Union is going down the toilet because it is boring. It used to be gold but now it is grey. Want to bring back the fans? Then bring back rucking and mauling.

But still equivalent to first grade in the history books. He also won a BRL title as a coach as well.

I think that he is the true mastermind of Queensland recent success in Origin. It is Bennett that the emerging Qld players meet at the start of the year and his idea to have a full time coach etc.

This conversation he has with Richard Fidler is fascinating – as a player in a Queensland state squad they would sleep at night in the Lang Park dressing rooms: http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2011/04/15/3192500.htm

Wayne Bennett for coach of the Immortals

I’m a little confused. – He didn’t play first grade but played for Queensland and Australia?

How to end up with a small fortune betting on horses – Start with a large one.

NRL needs to distance itself from horse racing

No and neither would anyone else with a fully functioning brain.

Anzac day footy blurs the boundaries between sport and war

ANZAC day is being commercialised. Last year my brother (who is a returned serviceman) was in a pub in Sydney and was told the only brand of beer available for purchase that day was VB.

If the AFL, NRL want to make money on a day made sacred by the pain and suffering of this country’s people how about donating every cent of profit to returned diggers and legacy.

Picking any player that doesn’t want to be there is a formula for losing. Also picking the captain on the bench, changing the halves pairing for each game and dropping players after 1 game. Qld are good but can we please not make it so easy for them?

If I was picking the Blues team today ...

Yeah I miss the Ashes. Also the tour aspect where the Poms and Emus would play club teams midweek.

Stand alone rep weekend great, but where’s our Ashes?

I’d be happy feet to if I was Phac’s bank manager ya berk.

It is time for the NRL to tinker with the rules

The game can be improved by getting rid of interchange.

Hey Peter,
Since you’re “a bit more qualified to write about the organisation of clubs and crisis management”, what’s the john dory with the Souths Leagues Club?

HOLMES A COURT: I send my support to the Cronulla board, players and fans

Nothing would surprise me with how bad channel 9s sports coverage can get anymore. Even if they brought Les Patterson into the commentary team.
Normally I would laugh at how absurd things can get in life. Like this week when a department store told me that they would replace the broken down washing machine that I bought off them 4 months earlier out of ‘good faith’ (this was after 20 phone calls and I even paid extra for a replacement warranty). But people like to watch sports and follow their team to forget that kind of daily crap. Some famous nerd called sports ‘opium for the masses’. Well I’d like to consume my opium without channel 9s cheap substances mixed in.
