This season is undoubtedly Ash’s last chance to prove himself. Cartwright has picked up how game but he just makes mistakes you expect from a u12 match. The Titans have a plethora of good young players but they haven’t kept a side consistent, therefore no room for cohesion. I do think there is a large chance, probably more likely than not, that the titans finish 15th or 16th. They’re definitely not a talented side compared to other teams, but there is a lot to work with there.

Titans versus Dragons: Who wins this wooden spoon clash?

What about players such as Aj Brimson who’s an uprising talent. Whilst he isn’t playing he’s still a good player coming into his own. Another is Ash, while he’s been given heavy criticism and hasn’t performed up till late, he’s shown a lot of effort and some play like he had in his rookie season. Bryce Cartwright in my opinion is one of the worse players on the team, due to his lack of tackling ability and poor ball handling. I guess we’ll see this weekend, but I agree Dufty will be an issue for the titans.

Titans versus Dragons: Who wins this wooden spoon clash?

Hopefully not, with what has been said from the league it looks more likely there’s a new club instead of the Titans being moved on.

Injuries have absolutely destroyed the side, it’s putting a lot of pressure on younger players to perform. They’re past the strength of their depth, now having bench players who wouldn’t make other sides in the reserves. Titans lack a proven winner, which creates a losing culture which sets the club back a couple of years too.

Titans versus Dragons: Who wins this wooden spoon clash?

I’m not sure id call the Titans a weak side. There’s more than enough talent on the side, the issue is cohesion.
I agree that he’s been able to coach a top side down to 14th, as they’ve simply just been playing down to their competition. once Graham is officially gone, I do think it could be a blessing in disguise.

Titans versus Dragons: Who wins this wooden spoon clash?

I just don’t see the Dragons coming out how they did last week, same goes for the Titans. the Titans never thought they could beat Souths, which lost them the match early. Holbrook will undoubtedly have a dig into them, with the addition of Thompson they finally might find the fire under their belly.

He might be the voice at fullback the Titans have been missing, the talent pool is for sure there. A lack of cohesion is costing them games.

When they believe they can come out firing, but as you’ve said they just didn’t think they could beat the south. A better attitude is vital coming into this week.

Taylors made a huge stride in his defensive efforts, he’s efficiently lacked that in the past. Holbrook is making choices to try test players out, he for sure isn’t putting out the side to win. the team needs to find a structure that works before they go out there expecting to win. The defence has undoubtedly been a talking point for them, I’m expecting them to really step up in this regard very soon.

He revitalised his career by moving, not sure he was bailing on the Tigers, but he made a brilliant choice to move.

Once a broken man, James Tedesco is now the NRL’s poster boy

a chip and chase would simply be too deadly for him to have. His game is already far ahead of many, but a decent kicking game could possibly make him one of the most well-rounded players in the league (if not the most well-rounded).

Can’t even imagine the level he could be at currently if he hadn’t suffered a string of injuries. he might’ve already been in the talks for the greatest fullback along with players like Slater, but those talks don’t seem far away.

Hopefully even one can make it that deep this year but doesn’t look too likely. certainly not holding my breath.

Took me a second to see what you were referring too, got me there. Hopefully not but 2225 finals hopes are sadly more realistic than finals this year. That assumes the Titans make it through to 2050, let alone 2225.

Thanks, Birdy,
More titans supporters are surprisingly coming around nowadays, a big issue is the past scandals. Like you’ve mentioned, the Titans have constantly been screwed around, especially the fans.
The junior base is definitely here too, with the Titans going around to junior clubs and helping out it without a doubt is helping grow the club.
Undoubtedly on the right track now it seems, with Holbrook taking the Titans by the throat to try to fix them any way he can. Him dropping players who aren’t stepping up to the plate is invaluable right now as too many players come to the Titans for the money & weather, forgetting about the footy.

It’s definitely a struggling area for sports currently. But I don’t think fans will come until results do, the club is sitting at some low member numbers because no one wants to barrack for a loser alive. Instead, being dissatisfied in the comfort of their own home.

I totally agree DP, he has made his living off the storm and there’s no way someone of that position could help a club to a grand final. But in saying that, he doesn’t need to add the titans to his list of achievements and could go out on a high note instead of helping a newer team. As demoralising as it is, the Titans need him, he doesn’t need the Titans.

I’m just saying if we (The Titans) made a grand final I couldn’t care who we’d be against.

I think they need to give the titans a deadline to sort themselves, can’t expect a premiership but playoffs at least. If they can’t construct a reliable Gold Coast club, a second Brisbane club has no chance.

For sure, the Titans need him and the league would benefit from him. But I don’t think it would be a smart career decision for him. He’s built an immaculate resume and the Titans is too risky for him, as if they didn’t produce people would look back on him regardless of his contribution.

I agree, it’s putting young players in an unusual position and hurts their future; but for leagues such as the nfl, it gives players who wouldn’t make the league who were to be drafted late a chance to make n impact and make a career. There’s no perfect solution, but the draft could do more good than bad.

Much appreciated jack!

To me it wouldn’t matter who they’d verse in a grand final. I’ve backed them since ‘07, and it hasn’t been too pleasurable to say the least. I love to see someone at least have us as a secondary club to follow, but I feel a top 8 appearance isn’t too far away.

Gold Coast isn’t the best place to find home grown talent, a lot of good young guns from Keebra Park make it, but not many have made Australian sides. Best of luck on your bet, but the Coast hasn’t produced too many star talents (yet).

I’m not too familiar with the alumni from the Gold Coast region. one player I know as I played for his former junior club, Darius Boyd. He was from the gold coast Playing for the Mudgeeraba Redbacks, but other than that there’s not many origin/ Australian rep level players I’m aware of.
