Let's face it, Beauden blew it for the All Blacks
Beauden Barrett is a wonderful rugby player, in my opinion the world’s leading No.10.

Beale at 10 will have the Tahs gaining a lot of metres in attack… parallel to the try line
Beale set for five-eighth spot at Waratahs
“a failed 180”, genius! 😂
Yes the Bancroft thing bemuses me. His technique often looks ropey and his form in the Shield poor – so why is he waiting in the wings to drop back into the XI?
Selectors begin planning next baffling call on Joe Burns
What did Beale do to get a pass mark? He threw a forward pass and did precisely nothing else….

Yeah nah.
The Wallabies didn't lose because of Romain Poite, but World Rugby, we do have a problem

Erm – you did watch Super Rugby this year, right? 2019? Just checking..
Wallabies make major changes for Wales Rugby World Cup match
Hey Brett, thanks for the reply.
I did read the entire article, but you didn’t out and out talk about the lack of pace, nor did you mention Banks.
Anyway all good. Banks himself would probably accept that he didn’t make himself an automatic selection off the back of his Test appearances… but on the other hand, if I was Cheika, I’d be realistic about giving a newbie more time to settle into Test footy, especially as Banks was excellent for the Brumbies. And Lord knows we don’t have a multitude of pacy, multi-skilled outside backs banging the door down in Australian rugby.
Finally… the plot has now thickened. Petaia, who has played very little footy this year and was the wildcard option to add sorely lacking pace to the squad, is now out of the Samoa game with a bung hammy. But it’s OK… we have Nick Phipps joining the squad in Noumea??! Surely a Speight or a Naivalu or a Pulu would have made more sense??!
31 picked but the Wallabies' XV already looks pretty set
Brett… what about Banks?
Are you not concerned by the lack of pace in the squad?

Stokes was incredible and full marks to him for that stupendous innings.
He’s kidding himself that the LBW wasn’t plumb in front though….
Stokes revives Ashes with extraordinary match-winning ton
Wow, so responsive Daniel 😊
The concern for me is that Cheika didn’t include him in the wider squad, going for what I’d refer to as more multi-positional “outside backs” like Petaia and Maddocks who lack the out-and-out pace of “classic” wingers like Speight or Naivalu.
It will be interesting to see if any players outside the current squad make it in…
VOTE: Pick your Wallabies squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup
The one name I think we need to add to the list above is HENRY SPEIGHT.
I’m concerned by the lack of pace in the squad, apart from Koroibete and Banks.
Speight was excellent for the Brumbies this year, provides some toe but also experience. He is also very good at the breakdown and he doesn’t let the team down in defence.

Can someone feed Simmons a whole box of angry pills please!!!
Michael Cheika sticks solid with winning Wallabies, confirms team for Bledisloe 2
Wright is worth a run.
AAC? What’s the point. Stick to Banks or go for Tevita. AAC won’t (or shouldn’t) be in the RWC squad.
Simmons? Gee that’s going to be the opposite of an impact player off the bench… not sure who else we have though…

I don’t think that’s fair, nor borne out by the evidence. But hey, it’s a free world and you are entitled to your opinion
Why Australia's Bledisloe Game 1 wonders are unlikely to be repeated in Auckland
Yes Eoin Toolan is a smart rugby analyst. He was on the Rugby Ruckus podcast a few weeks back, always brings interesting insights to the table.
All Blacks only see the red in a Wallabies bolt from the blue
LSL needs to continue to knuckle down. He was better on Saturday but I’m not yet fully convinced he is our best option at 6.
He needs to also hit the defensive line with lower body height… he is a choke tackle turnover waiting to happen
What we know after the Wallabies' stunning Bledisloe 1 win
I know Wales are a group opponent of Australia, but I’m genuinely disappointed for Wales about this.
Biggar is a quality option at 10, mind you
Wales dealt huge blow with Anscombe ruled out of World Cup
Ok I’ll bite. Sanchez impression? Pppfffft
Wallabies beat All Blacks after dominant second half in Bledisloe 1
Totally agree. For all the chat about our backs, without guys like arnold coming to the fore we are nothing. He is a beast and has come on so well in 2019.

I thought Arnold was immense. I’d be giving him 9.

Agreed. Hard to disagree with the red, no arms, to the head, with force. Where’s the controversy?
