Mo’unga may have also said “naah mate, I’m off to Japan”.

Why Schmidt isn't sweating about Wallabies star's cross-code temptation

Perhaps Billy Vunipola overindulged in huevos.

Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

It’s not included in revenue in advance though (Note 13)

“…poaching towering, or bull-like Pacific Islanders like the kiwis”

Who are all these Pacific Islanders that the Kiwis have been poaching? I would suggest the Kiwis have ‘poached’ less than the Aussies. The country that does a lot of poaching is actually Samoa.

To be fair to Scott Barrett, he pushed Whitelock to the bench but Retallick will be sorely missed. With last years entire loose trio currently playing in Japan, it will be interesting to see if those that are returning, will be selected by Robertson.

The front row has decent depth but the starting 8 could look very different to that of last years RWC.

I’m not so sure about the Chiefs, Muzzo. They don’t have the similar dominance up front that the Blues or the Hurricanes have. They have missed Cane and Retallick big time.

Five surprises, five disappointments and five things to figure out as Super Rugby 2024 reaches the end game

Gee, there’s a multi in there somewhere with a nice payout waiting to happen.

Five things: What Beale has over other golden oldies, double pain for Brumbies as Blues expose Australia's biggest weakness

Who’s this “we” you speak of?

This hate for Foster seems endless. I wonder (actually I do know) what your excuse would have been if his team did win the RWC.

Leinster’s home stadium (RDS Arena) has a capacity of 18.5K.

Now they also play games at Aviva which has a capacity of 51.7K but Sky Stadium in Wellington can fit 34.5K so I don’t believe it’s about playing in front of more fans.

Jordie seems to relish a new challenge so there’s more of a broad appeal of him playing overseas, in my opinion.

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

Does that work both ways though?

Maybe. From the reports I’ve seen, he seems keen to reconnect with family and friends that were made when his dad played there. He also seems like someone who doesn’t like to sit still for too long and presents himself with different challenges.

I think the crowds numbers you expressed might be through rose coloured glasses. From what I could find, the average 2023 attendances for both the European Championship Cup and URC were 16K & 11K respectively. The data for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific is a little incomplete but the average appears to be around 12K.

Obviously traveling around Europe and SA playing rugby would certainly be very appealing plus Jordie has expressed his disappointment at not touring the Republic anymore. Against that are the Hamilton Gardens so……

Hi Scott, according to the ABS, as at 2022 there was around 7.7 million Australian residents who were born overseas. Those born in NZ made up around $586K (4th highest – 2.3% of total), with 40% of the buggas ($230K) living in QLD.

'Incredible' Hoops backed to do better than Boks legend who 'failed abysmally' in sevens switch

Great read, Dave.

As a wannabe fast bowler in the late 80s and nineties, I revered the West Indian bowlers during that magical period. As a Kiwi though, my favourite bowler of course was ‘Paddles’. I recall Graham Gooch once remarked that facing NZ was “like the World XI at one end, and Ilford Second XI at the other”. Which at the time, may have been a little unkind to the Ilford Second XI.

Reliving the Eighties and a great era for fast bowlers

I agree it was certainly dangerous but on the evidence, can’t be called dirty. Frizell clearly missed the cleanout of Bongi and unfortunately fell awkwardly on his knee.

The yellow was warranted.

There are only two ways rugby can go from here - and there's no middle ground between physicality and safety

By that measure, Sekope Kepu had more than a few greatest moments that day.

Razor's pursuit of 'hard bastard' Sam Whitelock reveals the ugly truth about the modern All Blacks

There has probably been 3 previous games between these teams since the comment from Coleman. He may have a different cap for each opposition team, which he hopes to trot out in future press conferences.

Yes, the cause and effect is implied to be reversed.

More 'Scary Schmidt' than 'Sleepy Joe': Ireland tales that show the new Wallabies coach could be a polarising figure

“Sam Cane might’ve been All Blacks captain in name, but Whitelock was its leader.”

Whitelock was one of a number of leaders in the All Blacks over the past few years, even when he couldn’t make the starting 15. But regardless of any prejudices you may have, Cane was the captain of the team.

Razor's pursuit of 'hard bastard' Sam Whitelock reveals the ugly truth about the modern All Blacks

I agree. While the Crusaders are struggling with so many injuries at the moment, with the physically imposing Tuipolotu, it seemed like men playing with boys in the tight.

The Wrap: Wallaby's brain fade that cost the Tahs, con job worthy of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Quite a few changes to the starting 15 for the Canes so I expect it to be closer than their coach thinks.
