Not sure it was a shank, rather just a bad kick that didn’t chew off enough metres.

Guts and grit: How Wallabies won a game they've lost so many times before

Makes sense. He looks a shell of himself in Gold

I agree. After copping some pelters on here early this week. I thought I would objectively have a look at Gordon and see if there was something I wasn’t seeing that others were. But genuinely he looked bang average.

If anyone can tell me what Kelleway offers that the other wingers in the squad/country don’t I’m all ears. He’s a solid player, but hardly think he’s worth be given a spot over potential others

Reaction: Why thriller was 'almost perfect result' for Rennie

and late in the first half where he needed to take 3 to 4 steps towards the player to his right to make the pass.

Genuinely I think this passing thing is a myth. If you told me Gordon got the nod because of his kicking ability, I’d have no arguments. But to suggest Tate is some how a poor passer, is laughable.

Guts and grit: How Wallabies won a game they've lost so many times before

I’m not just referring to pilfering. We were dominated at the breakdown last night. Scoring a try from 1m out is hardly a highlights reel we should be judging a flanker on. I thought he had an ok game, but he was fairly ineffectual in things Hooper is normally good at e.g. ball in hand etc.

UNBELIEVABLE: Stunning howler from France gifts Wallabies thrilling first Test win

The pass for the drop goal is on this page. Its out in front of him at chest height?

Guts and grit: How Wallabies won a game they've lost so many times before

I certainly didn’t see any marked difference in the passing game between Gordon and McDermott last night. Tate really needs to work on his kicking though.

Lolesio is a weird one. You can see there is bags of potential there, but for me seems like he really struggles under pressure.

Guts and grit: How Wallabies won a game they've lost so many times before

“Tate McDermott didn’t have the best first five or ten minutes on entry to the match, but here he was”….. what exactly didn’t he do in the first five or ten minutes? Because within in the first 5 minutes he’d beat the line once to open the French up, and drew pillar/post ruck defenders to slide other players in… seems you might have an axe to grind on this one Brett..

Guts and grit: How Wallabies won a game they've lost so many times before

what did he actually do though? Thats the same description thats rolled out every game? From my perspective we very nearly lost the game because we had no controll or threat at the breakdown. Remind again what a flankers job is?

Met the guy a few times, what a nice guy. But to your point, makes sense. His style is very replicative of the running back, strong leg drive, maintain low centre of gravity and agility at turns.

Why the modern game has no place for a winger with clean shorts

Yep, happy with rewarding servants. But don’t want to see us rewarding code hoppers that come to rugby for one contract then bail overseas for more money.

Why the modern game has no place for a winger with clean shorts

Yeah I dont think he should be the representation for the rule change. If we change the rule I’d rather it be for players who have committed a significant amount of time to rugby in Aus before heading overseas.

Why the modern game has no place for a winger with clean shorts

I’d like to see Daugunu given as chance this series and should be there as the replacement to Korobeite when he leaves.

Why the modern game has no place for a winger with clean shorts

I think Daugunu with some game time could really surprise people. Very similar attributes (would say he nudges Korobeite in the kicking ability)

Why the modern game has no place for a winger with clean shorts

I think you left out Digby Ioane, Nicholas. He was very much the antithesis of the clean cut winger and the beginning of the modern wallaby winger. Famous for his insightful runs inside both the halfback and flyhalf, comfortable in midfield and on the edges.
Korobeite’s defence is certainly a strong point and look no further then November last year at Suncorp stadium

Did you watch the games Brett?

by the same token Hooper was benched for the entire finals campaign in japan….

Rugby two-up: Australia vs France special edition

was the other way around. He didnt start the first 3 from memory, dropped for one and came back to play in the reds only TT victory

Rugby two-up: Australia vs France special edition

yes it is the French B team?

Rugby two-up: Australia vs France special edition

He hardly had a run in the TT? What are you talking about, and then the only game he did play the reds won… talk about re-writing history. He’s numbers this year were massively impressive

Rugby two-up: Australia vs France special edition

how many games did the others win? He was also part of the team that beat them at suncorp last year…

Rugby two-up: Australia vs France special edition

I think you’re wrong there. There has been clear times when Hooper should have made way for Pocock, and allowed the team to have more balance. But as captain he was un-droppable. Therefore Pooper was born

Why the numbers lie in the curious case of Michael Hooper

Hoops will be 32 during the world cup in 2023 JC.

Why the numbers lie in the curious case of Michael Hooper

By financial I meant, surely Powell received more money from the Rebels then what he would of been on at the Brumbies.

Interesting, I hope we can. But I cant see it. Would like to see us go into a serious building phase only focusing on WC2023 aka AB’s pre2011
