We’ve had too many talented but ultimately lazy soft players that could never match the intensity of the kiwi super sides for way too long.
'We'll sack him and be in the same position': Ex-Wallaby condemns Larkham snub as Schmidt deal CONFIRMED
I am yet to be convinced that either cellar or Larkham are ready to step up.
Joe’s record speaks for itself and the kiwis went up a level when Jason Ryan came on board then another 3 levels when Joe came on board.
Frankly we should be grateful that he would come anywhere near us and I am absolutely certain that we would not have been able to get anyone of his calibre had McLennan still been wrecking the joint.
'We'll sack him and be in the same position': Ex-Wallaby condemns Larkham snub as Schmidt deal CONFIRMED
Awesome news.
The wallabies will require someone of Jason Ryan’s class as a forwards coach.
Equally important is that each assistant coach be a master of their craft.
Finally some no nonsense people running the joint.
Exclusive: Wallabies to turn to Kiwi Schmidt as Eddie Jones' replacement
If everyone won all the time everyone’s problems would be fixed..
still can’t see how two goes into one but it seems to work for soccer.
Controversial Rugby Australia policy to be shelved after Wallabies disaster
whomever becomes the wallabies coach is only going to be as good as his assistants allow him to be.
Look at Foster with the All Blacks that were misfiring.. Along came Ryan whom tidied up some basics in the pack then the real lift came when Schmidt’s footprints were all over the gameplan.
Thus a Schmidt/Nucifora lead team would be ideal but it will really depend on having truly competent specialist coaches in every aspect of the game.
The last thing the game needs is a league prop as an attack coach, its just infuriatingly mind numbingly dumb.
I am optimistic about Waugh being the CEO as he goes about business quietly without the attention seeking fanfare but more to the point he has lived and breathed rugby at all levels, so if anyone gets it it’ll be him rather than the so called professional advertisers, accountants, bankers and administrators.

Its not though.

Wonton negligence at the very least

Never was a Hamish fan and it’s amusing to see he bet his life on another egotistical melomaniac that played him like a fiddle.
Fiasco complete: Eddie Jones officially CONFIRMED as Japan coach
Perhaps Japan unlike Australia as the article implies have promised a carte blanche of Japan rugby from the bottom to the top and the funds to do it?
So will Eddie destroy or build Japan rugby?
'Stinking nepotism', 'bygone era' or Japan's saviour? Why Eddie's mate has risked his rep on Wallaby turncoat

Tha lack of contest for posession is what turns me off the game.
The ball is essentially incontestable for much of the game.
I don’t buy into the league is running rugby though I get what you are imply.
Much of the running is short hit ups due to the flat line structure of the game.

Bollocks

So a guy who has proven himself and is improving gets 500k amd a kid that hasn’t played a senior game of rugby nor really proven himself in NRL gets 1.6?

Yep no doubt Ryan has been instrumental and we saw an improvement in the forwards when he came aboard but it was Schmidt’s game structure that got them within an inch of holding cup aloft.
Ryan is razors mate who was going with him but went earlier than expected
How McLennan departure could help Wallabies land ex-Ireland, All Blacks coach as Eddie's replacement
Hey Jackie,
If it wasn’t for Schmidt and Ryan… where do you think the ABs would have departed the last World Cup?
I’d say the quarter final.
How McLennan departure could help Wallabies land ex-Ireland, All Blacks coach as Eddie's replacement
Schmidt took the all blacks to the next level at the WC.
There are few if any coaches available with a CV that comes anywhere near his.
I’m not buying into the cultural differences mumbo jumbo.
Whomever gets the gig will need more than capable assistants.
I think people need to disassociate the wallabies performance from the structural problems in RA.

Gee talk about optimistic delusions of Grandeur.
We have about 6 players max that are anywhere near world class the rest are just way off the pace.
Seeing the all blacks have a lot of players moving on I guess the gap may be closer than before but lets be honest the australian super rugby players are behind the NZ super rugby players on just about every measurable thing.
