It wouldn’t be because his licence had expired.

Josh Reynolds' false positive was a blessing in disguise

The NRL, The individual club’s, the media and the VAST majority of the fans of the game try to ensure that these young (and some not so young)concentrate on the game and not the drink and the stupid hi jinks that not only bring the game into disrepute but also put their own career in jeopardy. These cretins act like fourteen year olds and they are often repeat offenders (Barba). The worst part of the situation is that they make it difficult for the huge majority of players who are ornaments to the game and their club. I wonder if the clubs are carrying out psychologically based assesment on the upcoming players so they can adjust their in house handling of the younger players. Just a thought.

Cowboys sack Ben Barba for 'significant' breach of contract

All in all I thought that it was a fairly ordinary game. I am certainly not suggesting that it was a BAD game, just not compelling. As a Knights fan I am pleased with the result but the game was not as watchable as the final scoreline would suggest. Yeah, I know. You could say that I’m hard to please and I have no defence for that.

Having said that, there was some good performances from Watson and Barnett.

Newcastle Knights vs Gold Coast Titans: NRL live scores

I agree with you. He has been good for the club and has earned the respect of the fans. Sorry to see him go but I hope he has a great future.

Gagai: Knights can make finals

This article puts a question and then completely ignores it. Pointless article when written this way!

Is there a future for the NRL in PNG?

I agree with each and every point and the reasons given. I have been watching the game for over 50 years and at no time has there been so much tinkering with the rules. This always seems to be because some hysterical coach has got a bee under his bonnet and the media has decided to jump on the whine wagon. Give the spectators a temn year moratorium from onfield rule changes and when reviewing the game keep the coaches out of the system.

Top five ways to improve rugby league

Don’t be obtuse. 🙂

New 'free play' rule to be used in NRL's Auckland Nines

Bloody stupid “rule”. For god’s sake will the powers that be stop tinkering with the rules. I have been watching this game for 60 years and in that time the game has changed beyond belief. I do know that my father wouldn’t recognise the game now. I know that some changes needed to be made. the 6 tackle rule, the 40/20, the downgrading of scrums and the 10 metre rule are all examples of rules that needed to be made to the game to ensure its continuity but rule tweaks like this nonsense is as stupid as anything I can think of. how about a five or ten year moratorium on rule changes in any form of the game and then have a look at what is needed. One other thing, keep coaches away from anything to do with changing the rules. coaches come and go but the fans keep coming back year after year and they need to have an ingrained understanding of the rules.

Ragnar Lothbrock? Love it!!! 🙂

PRICHARD: NSW should use Austin's powers in Origin 2

I don’t know whether Austin will be picked for SOO but as a knights fan I watched him absolutely demolish Newcastle on Saturday. That was one of the most dominant performances that i have seen for a long time.

PRICHARD: NSW should use Austin's powers in Origin 2

What the hell is this article trying to say? I have read it a couple of times now and it just seems to be a convoluted collection of words. I’m sure that the author knew what he/she WANTED to say but I can’t see it!

Fear leads to the dark side of rugby league

No need to rag on Bennett…… What s happening here is simply what happens when a new coach comes in i.e. The new coach takes what he is given and deals with it as well as he can until he gets to build his own side. Many of last years problems were caused by external matters and also the Alex McKinnon injury seemed to hang heavily on the players. It just seems that Stone has hit the ground running and he has taken the players with him.
