just curios – how many wealthy peeps own any teams in Aussy ?

theres a heap of team owners in Europe – becoz the proximity of countries and a large number of eyeballs has created a very nice market – not just for TV but for other things as well.

just look at all the footy clubs owned by Middle Eastern and American billionaires 😛

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

@ JD Kiwi

this is going to be interesting – so keep ur eyes on the news.

pretty sure there are restrictions attached to hiring non-qualifying players .

read somewhere how the Union has put in number restrictions for positions and expats playing .

maybe its from the past – “player project” – or whatever it was called.

but still – there are guys like Alex nankavill – who is more or less a 12 not qualified for ireland ( ?) and then JB coming for same position.

perhaps an Ireland expert can enlighten the statusquo!!! 😛

90 sec for a conversion – logic is that TMO has time to look at try scored and pass it.

coz 60 sec for a penalty – which has no TMO review.

now that the laws have been changed to allow TMO to review until restart – why not give 60 sec for conversion.

also something seen during weekend – the shot clock for conversion was stopped when the try was scored and immediately ref wanted to review it.

then when the try was passed by all he told whoever – to start the shot clock.

if this is the way it is supposed to happen then why 90 seconds for conversion?

initially from memory – when the 90 sec thingy was introduced the clock started running from the moment the try was scored – or the ref lifted his arm and blew the whistle.

then if there was any review it happened while clock was running.

its very difficult to follow these laws and their application when refs seems to have their own methods.

in one Heineken cup match the ref of the day made the kicker take the conversion while like 20 seconds was remaining – and many questioned what right ref has to make the kicker take the kick when he was 90 seconds?

its like the refs at times making 9 -lay the ball while scrum or maul is still moving.

The Wrap: Crusaders' shot clock fiasco and shhh, don’t put the moz on Darby

Blues no way – they are just non-cohesive team like HIghlanders.

other than Hurricanes and Brumbies – there are no teams that one can bet to win over a 3 week period !!!

The Wrap: Crusaders' shot clock fiasco and shhh, don’t put the moz on Darby

JRK also stumbled – thats twice now being run around the flank !!!

he seems to over estimate his pace – the Brumbie wing left him for dead a few weeks back 😛 😛

said this before also – perhaps the mandatory 10 minute stand down , even if a players passed the HIA testing could be a deterrentt to not taking players off.

even while a blood injury withdrawal can return immediately – we see many guys being wrapped up on field , until the ref insists he is taken off!

just imagine teams being reluctant to lose a player for 10 !!

saw some time back in an article from Europe that the 10 minute stand down is to ensure late onset of concussion symptoms can be monitored.

there was even an extension up to 13 minutes for better monitoring in England i thinkk!

while these are good practices medically – one could argue that the symptoms can come up after 11 minutes !!

with the new mouthguards and GPS trackers and access to tv , staff shud be in a better position to make decisions. so maybe powers that be could change the protocols to allow a HIA withdrawal immediate return to play once cleared.

being saying for a couple of years now that only a couple of teams in SRP are world class

the player drain has affected all and the level of skill and talent is nothing to call “SUPER RUGGER”

one shud watch the Heineken cup to see the way some of the big teams in Europe play.

this year just Hurricanes and Brumbies are playing “CONSTANTLY” at a standard to be on par with the best of Europe.

The Wrap: Crusaders' shot clock fiasco and shhh, don’t put the moz on Darby

nope – TMO has time until restart after a score to review the try and cancell it.

its easy to understand why Berry was savaged by saffas – he is inventing laws.

there was one case where a blue player was offside and the red 9s pass hit him and looped slowlyt to a red player.

Berry said play on – and in the next phase the blue players easily turned ball over – becoz the red player got a loopy pass that came off the returning blue players back!!

now the question is – in a test match will a ref not blow a penalty against the blue player returning – lazy runner – or is it just in ‘SUPER RUGGER ” ??

biggest issue in rugger union is not the LAws – but the application of them by varios refs 😛

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

the game clock will have gone over 80 – had the kicker utilized full 90 seconds.

that means game over .

as per understanding of Laws – only a penalty allows the game to continue after 80 minutes – if the team with penalty chooses.

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

that kick by red 10 ( 22) just showed what is wrong with that not so champion team this year.

no rugger sense at all.

had he let the clock run out – it will have been 80+ and the game finishes with a win to red team by a point.

even before the super rugger season began – said they will struggle without a proper 10 to replace Mouanga – and they have .

now with their heir apparent Burke going to Sarries , they are kaput !!!

before super rugger began this year – asked why they bought 1/2 penny , when they had no proper 10!!

now aim to finish among the top 8 at least 😛 😛 😛

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

lot of dropped balls – so its either handling is bad or the passing isnt good.

strange how neither ref gave any warnings on penalties inside 22!

maybe WR shud consider yellow card after 3 consecutive penalties inside 22. that will put a stop to easy penalties !!

'Brain explosion': Wallaby stars sent off as Queensland left red-faced in Moana Pasifika shocker

in general europeans tend to go low – and deal with whatever after that!

whereas southerners seem to worry about the offload and tend to go high !

this is evident from the post contact meters – like league !

for eg – crusaders are a good defensive team but waratahs managed to make grround at every carry becoz the tackles were high and wasnt stopping the attackers.

'Brain explosion': Wallaby stars sent off as Queensland left red-faced in Moana Pasifika shocker

he did not even touch the ball – the defender came from the side and tackled the 9 – sanction penalty then and there !!!

but then DM is a rubbish ref who sees nothing obvious. had he been more attentive all this may not have happened!!!

while the judiciary did not elaborate on what was called ” mitigating circumstances ” = perhaps this was the case.

not saying the actions of 9 are correct – but if the ref had blown the previos action – or the head shot before that – the red card will not have been necessary.

on both sides of the equator – reffing is quite rubbish these days – perhaps its the heat 😛

Rugby News: Beale 'laser focused' on Wallabies return, coach fury at ban for 'malicious' headbutt

cant the organization appeal this sanction?

in gallagher – several such decisions were appealed by england and were taken seriously!!

if memory is right one was about Farrell 😂 😂 😂

Rugby News: Beale 'laser focused' on Wallabies return, coach fury at ban for 'malicious' headbutt

after giving 9 just 6 weeks for a head injury – they couldnot go much longer where light contact was made.

now had they heard cases backwards maybe a longer term – so the prop learnt a lesson !

BUT THEN – historically these judgements have been rubbish to be nice ! dont know about SANZAAARR – but several times the judgements on discipline have been contested in Europe by the powers that be !!! says a lot doesnt it 😂 😂 😂 😂

Lomani gets huge discount on ban for shocking elbow after guilty plea, teammate has penalty halved

wonder if it cost a lot to dress nice – as one fan had asked if 9 could afford the cost of the chair !! 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛

Lomani gets huge discount on ban for shocking elbow after guilty plea, teammate has penalty halved

AND THE FACT THAT 9 WAS TAKEN OUT without the ball – coming in from the side – and it was about the Nth time it happened – and that the ref was blind to anything blue did 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

and when do u plan to play in Qatar ? 😛 😛

'I'm a big fan': Kiss throws weight behind Club World Cup as Europe and Super Rugby agree to new tournament

rated in Europe.

perhaps his performance is a reflection of his teammates = better team in France better performance in Europe 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

'I'm a big fan': Kiss throws weight behind Club World Cup as Europe and Super Rugby agree to new tournament

LR pack weighed in at 957 = mainly coz of Uni Antonio and Will Skelton logging 140+.

the difference between those teams and SR teams is – top European teams can basically put out a test 23 ( from varios countries ) – which SR no longer can do !!!

in the last 5 years or so – many young guys have go ne abroad leaving the level of experience and star quality at SR teams very limited.

just look at the crusaders – think planet rugby called their Rolls Royce pack now more a Toyota 😂 😂 😂

'I'm a big fan': Kiss throws weight behind Club World Cup as Europe and Super Rugby agree to new tournament

so funny how peeps who never saw a heinecken cup match keep commenting how easy it is to play at a single stadium and let all travel – becoz saffa teams are playing there 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

HC teams play for home advantage – and wont give that up easily – highly unlikely thy will want to come to SH 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛

'I'm a big fan': Kiss throws weight behind Club World Cup as Europe and Super Rugby agree to new tournament

will have to iron out a lot of things – to satisfaction of all.

current Heinecken cup matches give top performing teams a home advantage in final rounds.

how will that work out with teams who dont play in Europe ?

how does seeding come in ? everyone will think they are better than others !!

'I'm a big fan': Kiss throws weight behind Club World Cup as Europe and Super Rugby agree to new tournament

yellow card for legal hit !!! 😂 😂 😂 😂

Five things we learned: One area Gordon must fix to convince Wallabies boss, ABs bruiser should be on notice

becsause they played very little 7s – like one season ponys – if recall right even SBW played just a season .

there are some who have played a lot of 7s and their transitions into 15s wasnt that great – like Koroi , Baker !

some have been good but not good enuf for test rugger – like Ben Lam ( with NZ)

recently saw a league match by accident and pretty sure they had a NZ7s guy on the wing – just cant recall his name !!

What's the point of Sevens? It should be used to develop Test players, and would be better at it than Super Rugby

yes – and also impersonated Virat Kohli somewhere in india

would have broken his legs if it was me – but then everyone is not so crazy 😂 😂 😂
