Cash vs culture: How should teams chase success?
To be fair, it was an American based chat, but what good is comparing American sporting teams on this website? Generates no chat. I had to involve some form of Australian sporting franchises to get any form of conversation going.
Cash vs culture: How should teams chase success?
The players coming over or their states at that time have nothing to do with the fact the Roosters went out and bought big that off season. That’s the point here…

**This article has absolutely zero factor about me being a Storm fan. The photo was not of my choice, it was purely a chat between friends that I turned into an article.

Agree on the Panthers not curling up, for sure they won’t. If they can manage to win this game, after the 2 games they’ve gone through, then win a 4th tight game, they will be very deserving of that premiership ring.
The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals
Definitely think the Panthers are on the same level as the Raiders last year. Look at the outcome of the Parra game, Kikau hasn’t trained, Edwards hasn’t, Kenny gone and yes, the To’o smoke screen lol, but I think they’re definitely “as” banged up as Canberra were last year.

They definitely are Sporacle, you know you love it!
The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals
Great point about Canberra last season, they threw so much into beating the Chooks in the semis, they just did not show up against Melbourne in the prelim! Can see this year being something very similar. Awesome insight.

Great concept of an article! Enjoyed that alot! That Channel 9 side has about 5 of the greatest players to ever play the game, tough ask! Although the Fox team are the superior broadcasters, I am going with Team Channel 9 in this discussion.
Forget finals, it's the footy game we really want: Channel Nine vs Fox Sports
Well played (clapping hands emoji)

The only reason Punters aren’t mentioned here is due to 2 things:
1, they are all ex-AFL players, they all knew how to kick a ball, and they were all comfortable doing so.
2, lets be honest, punters may kick 3-5x a game, maximum. Mailata is playing not only in a sport he didn’t have any experience in, but is playing every snap on offense (which in Week 1 was 70). A lot more work, hence I think he deserves a little more fanfare, than the punters.
Where is the fanfare for Jordan Mailata?
Man, it is so dissappointing! So much good from Australian athletes, and they just overlooked or not looked into at all!
Where is the fanfare for Jordan Mailata?
What does scoring have to do with anything? The fact he’s an unknown prospect, now starting on a very competitive line, and is getting absolutely no fanfare, is pretty ridiculous to me. FYI – Hayne and Val were essentially punt returners, not much scoring in that aswell….
Where is the fanfare for Jordan Mailata?
Great article and great concept. I agree for the most part!

I am yet to see Cleary handle situations under tough circumstances, I don’t think I agree there. DCE is tried and proven, however. The Storm tend to rely on a host of players, not just one. When one is flustered, one takes over. I think their ranks are alot more in tune than Cleary in that regard.
NRL Round 25 talking points: Resting to be tested and Cecchin gets late respect
Yeah for sure, losing a halfback mid season would never be ideal, with no real set back up option, aswelll. Huge blow
Jack Wighton flopped in 2021 and it's entirely on the heads of the Canberra Raiders
I could not fathom how so many “experts” and “analysts” were calling for the Raiders to definitely make the Grand Final…
Even going off last year, they did not show any true promise, to potentially show that 2021 was their year.
They may have the talent on paper, but that never resonates to what is needed on the field. Canberra have a lot of soul searching to do, for mine.

Yeah I just wrote an article describing how I would handle it and I somewhat agree with your notion about 2021 being a “wipe out” for Paps. Resting Paps this year sounds ludicrous, but may not be the worst idea..

Harry Grant for Kotoni Staggs and we have ourselves a deal! 😛
NRL's unsavoury execution of Mitchell and officials, how Eels sprung surprise: Talking Points
I find it funny, there is no other side in the NRL, who after one loss, can be so written off, like the Storm. Are they playing as well as they were mid season? No. Have they got maybe 1 too many chefs in the kitchen now with everyone back? Yes. To call them cooked or “peaked too early” is insane, and I believe everyone just wants to see their demise.
Harry Grant is an immense talent, but he plays to his own tune. He will always look to run first, rather than set up his very capable playmakers on his left or right. Brandon Smith MUST be the 9 moving forward for Melbourne, as he is more of a team approached player. Paps needs the off season I think, to recoop and to get his edge back and be ready for a fresh 2022, so I would suggest Hynes play fullback and Paps off the bench – HOWEVER, since Paps has been back, Hynes has been a shell of his former self (when starting) because of the pressure of messing up, and being pulled for Paps. Hynes needs to play the game that worked for him and got him his big contract, and trust himself.
Running with a bench of Harry, NAS, Tui/Lewis and Paps seems very small, but it should do the trick.
Do not count out the men from Melbourne… not yet anyway

My biggest fear, one coach can only take so much rejection before they look elsewhere aka Dave Rennie. If we lose Razor, we are in big trouble (NZRU).
