Top 5: Alternatives to Mitchell Marsh
I like the Chinese Wreath idea, I had previously been supporting horse-whipping him in the street.
Top 5: Alternatives to Mitchell Marsh
Good point – I wonder how the book-makers and companies with the broadcast rites felt about those selection choices? Doesn’t look good for CA!
What is going on with one day cricket?
Hi Dan,
Thanks for the feedback. I really do agree on Wade, Lyon must be filthy with him for all the drops etc that led to him being dropped after that SL tour at home. I would say Nevill could be picked in his place at bat at 9.
Klinger is an interesting one, I would suggest he might be a bit old, but that could be what the team needs for a few years.
Head, on the other hand, is still very young and should be given a chance.
I don’t really rate Valente. He is getting a lot of wickets but most of them are ‘junk’. My view is Marsh shouldn’t be in the team as an all rounder with his batting record & should only be picked as a bowler (at this point). His bowling is better than Mennie etc.
Cheers

Thanks Ryan. Was thinking we could start a special ribbon day for him, but there aren’t many colors left anymore.

Really good point Neil, as there is so much chance taken in T20, its chance that really comes into it as a factor for wins.
T20? Just call it Kohli cricket
Hi JBJ – I absolutely agree with you. I would take it one step further and make sure we have 6 tests every summer – with either 6 to be played against one ‘strong’ Test team (e.g. South Africa, England, India) and every other year 2 x 3 Test series to be played against lesser teams (e.g. Sri Lanka, Pakistan) – you could even throw Ireland in there!
CA needs to get a lot better at marketing and expanding the brand / creating events. The Boxing Day Test has been done for them, they just need to run off that strong base.
Having unique pitches will certainly make the series more of a contest

The state of cricket (and more generally, sports) administration is a subject so large that you’d need more than a trashy article to cover it.
